The album isn't even top 40 in the midweeks! This is a disaster :(

 

The record company was mad to release it in December - She is not a big enough name to compete and the lead single has not been big enough to cause interest outside of her fanbase, Also it's been totally lost in HMV and the Supermarkets as Rod Stewart, Buble and co are taking up all the space so it's not even picking up impulse sales - As I said in another thread we have sold a grand total of 3 copies this week at work so far! :kink: Just hope her and Tulisa get a single out early next year to revive their albums when sales slump!

Did she even promote anywhere else besides Graham Norton? Surely she didn't fly all the way over here just to do that one performance? :unsure:

Surprised Gold Trans Am isn't on the main album, incredibly strong production (sounds like I Love Rock & Roll crossed with Lady Gaga's You & I) and the trashiest lyrics on the album, what's not to love!

I think 'Out Alive' really deserved a place on the main album.

 

'Supernatural' is my clear favourite on this album now, utterly splendid. :wub: MUST be a single.

Yep 'Animal' did well over here - It peaked at #8 and spent 46 weeks in the charts although the record company never certified sales im sure it went Platinum.

I think this will be one of those albums which will get a peak later on in it's career. It's going to peak top 10, I believe. It'll take advantage of the low January sales. The worst it'll do (chart performance wise) is Nicki Minaj's debut, 'Pink Friday'. 'C'mon' should get more interest in the album! 'Die Young' is a really weak single choice I think (I've always thought it was just a weak rehash of everything she's done so far and mixed it in with one of the biggest samples of this year). This album is full of smashes.

I'm not so optimistic about future singles reviving much interest, especially after what happened with 'Blow'.

Re: Singles, 'C'mon' has the advantage of not sounding like a Flo Rida single. To me 'Die Young' doesn't even sound like a Ke$ha song.

I get what you mean about 'C'mon', but for me it is a better and stronger rehash of her old songs. It sounds like a Ke$ha song... without it sounding like Ke$ha is doing a cover of a recent hit. It's strange what I'm trying to say :lol: 'C'mon' is more in the vein that people know and liked Ke$ha for, imo. I dunno. 'Die Young' just isn't clicking with me and if it wasn't for this site, I definitely wouldn't have checked her album out on the back of it.

You won't hear me saying this often, and I'm not a Ke$ha loon but this album is so so SO strong. It really deserves some recognition. I don't think the first single did it justice, although I do love it.

Ok its official. C'mon has properly hit me now. It's up there with her best singles from Animal. Hurry up and get it out there. Die Young can do just that now!!

It sold 5,525 in the UK first week. 5,525 people know where it's at.

Seriously good. Probably the album of the year which I was definitely not expecting from her. I hope she gets real success out of this.
