April 25, 201114 yr I rather like that! I think your country name is going to be harder to learn to spell than Caerfyrddia and i'm only just getting to grips with that one  :(
April 25, 201114 yr I LOVE that song. Safe to say if you enter anything like that it'll definitely be getting votes from me.
April 25, 201114 yr Author Thanks both of you. ^_^ The song I'm currently thinking of entering for BJSCXXXVIIIIIIII (or whatever the next one is) definitely has a similar feel to it. Now that Hits has started off so well, I need to at least qualify for the finals or I'll probably never hear the end of it. :D I'm not totally sure how much or how little we are supposed to give away about our song choices so I'll leave it at that for now...
April 25, 201114 yr Author Why thank you dear Silas, helpful and polite as ever. Fljótavík will be entering BJFestivalen and using it as an excuse to try and go with something that wouldn't normally be entered so we've drafted in The Radio Dept. The country's much loved melancholic sound remains over hints of New-Order style synth chord structures as the track progresses. I adore the way the track expresses the feelings of a guy seeing a recent ex dating another guy as it's a difficult thing to put into words from a bloke's perspective. However: "But he's got the worst taste in music... if I didn't know that, I'd lose it..." is a frankly INSPIRED line and one that I could well imagine most of us using to regain mental superiority. Fljótavík are conscious that this won't be everyone's cup of tea but adores the track so much that they have to send it - and it's not like it's a main contest anyway! Fljótavík would also like to issue a statement saying that they are very aware that the title of the song leaves them entirely open to jibes from every corner of the BJSC continent. db2HE7nAR-Y
April 25, 201114 yr Love the country name just a bit of a mouthful, got to try saying that when I'm drunk.
April 26, 201114 yr Sorry I had to remove your link, but I could tell you spent ages writing your spiel, so if you could jsut edit out the juicy details that would be great :)
April 26, 201114 yr Author That's okay. I think Mikey's comment ruins my thread in a far worse manner anyway. :(
April 26, 201114 yr Please tell me that I'm not the only one that picks up the Sigur Rós reference? :(
April 26, 201114 yr Please tell me that I'm not the only one that picks up the Sigur Rós reference? :( You are not :P
April 26, 201114 yr Why thank you dear Silas, helpful and polite as ever. I'm still deciding on whether that is dripping in sarcasm or if i'm just going to take it at face value and as a compliment. As for that Mikey comment i can remove it if it is disturbing you. I personally find it a little vomit inducing.
April 26, 201114 yr Author I am merely trying to address your image problem dear Silas, I think a RE-BRAND into a loving poster is in order. Maybe like a Silas CARE BEAR? And, yes, perhaps you would be kind enough to leave the adoration of my country's name in Mikey's post but remove his twisted evil thoughts. Thanking thee.
April 26, 201114 yr Author Please tell me that I'm not the only one that picks up the Sigur Rós reference? :( I was struggling for a name and so turned to my itunes for inspiration, Fljótavík was the result and I rather like it (even if I do say so myself). ^_^

Evil thought removed ^_^ There is a loving poster somewhere in me. It makes occasional appearances. Look for soppy/sentimental Silas.
April 26, 201114 yr Please tell me that I'm not the only one that picks up the Sigur Rós reference? :( See, now that someone points it out it's all so clear  I knew I recognised it.
August 21, 201113 yr Author Fljótavík recap! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v369/DandyHighwayman/Watchtheworldgobyflj.jpg Fljótavík made their debut in the contest with Watch The World Go By, the song did better than I had hoped and managed a more than respectable debut placing of 5th. Le Prix & Johan Agebjörn feat. Lake Heartbeat • Watch The World Go By http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v369/DandyHighwayman/HumanLifeFlj.jpg Second time around Fljótavík went with a track that wasn't the biggest of hits in their homeland, still Human Life exceeded their expectations again and managed to end up 7th to give the country a start of two top 10 finishes. August 21, 201113 yr Author http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v369/DandyHighwayman/Ljusarflj.jpg So after two strong finishes with female led synth tracks, Fljótavík moved into the next contest on relatively strong ground. However disaster struck as both their first and second choice entries pulled out on the country at the last minute, the national selectors were therefore forced to enlist the help of a small local band by the name of Ljusår. Fljótavík have been impressed by the band's love of New Order-esque guitars and Duran Duran style melodies and have decided to give the unknown band a shot at making an impression on the Buzzjack world. This is also the first time Fljótavík have dared to enter a song sung in a language other than English so the country has absolutely no idea how well or poorly the song will fare. August 21, 201113 yr Fljótavík and Batidas being two of the most noticeable newcomers to BJSC, I just wonder how we're going to fare in BJSC XXXVII. I suspect you'll fare better than me this time - Gotye really isn't Buzzjack material but I always said I'd enter a song I liked regardless of how it'd most likely perform. Then again you weren't so confident with Human Life so there's still a glimmer of hope still in me. :D
