Congrats Dandy :D

I reckon you would've done well even if you were in SF1 as whilst it's indie it's also very "pop" so it sounds like the type of track that would appeal to many different posters.

I'm going to predict now that Fljótavík will make the top 10 in the final.

Can't say a definite win as something ghastly like 'Here Are The Monsters' (or whatever it's called) will probably win.

PATRICK ECSTATIC AT 5TH PLACE FINISH IN BJSCTYRRENMADEUPNUMBER!

Fljótavík are very proud of their hero Patrique who wowed his way into the top 10 to continue their top 10 or DNQ run which currently stands at 05-07-DNQ-09-05.

FABULOUS.

BJSC XL • YADI represents Fljótavík

The final contest of the year is upon us and the Fljótavíkian selectors have chosen Yadi to represent them. The singer has already made minor waves across the country with her previous single 'Guillotine' but her new track 'Sahara Heart' has really raised her profile here as it's arty synth tinged wailings are perfectly suited to Fljótivíkian ears... and then the synth solo in the breakdown just seals the deal for her. Again I'm unsure of how well this one will go down in the contest but it's definitely one of my favourite tracks at the moment.

Here's 'Sahara Heart' for your (hopefully) pleasure:

Yadi finished in 21st in the final contest of the year, a new low for Fljótavík when making the final but the country remains happy with how 2011 has panned out considering we only competed in about half of the contests. Thanks to everyone who may have graced us with points over the period, it has been very much appreciated.

For once we actually have a song in mind for the next contest, fingers crossed it's still being loved in a month's time! :D

BJSC XLI • Foxes • Youth

Don't tell me our youth is running out... it's only just begun

Foxes represent Fljótavík in 2012. After initially preferring the AA side 'Home', this track has been a slow grower over the past couple of months for me until it's become one of my favourite songs of the new year. I'm desperately hoping that it's recent launch onto Buzzjack may have somehow gone unnoticed by a few of you so that someone makes a discovery of it. So if that someone is you then fingers crossed you like it and please take a listen below.

BJSC XLI • FOXES SHOCKSES

Somehow (despite pretty much nobody actually ever saying they liked the song!) Foxes has managed to steal victory in the excellently hosted BJSC XLI. The people of Fljótavík shall be getting appropriately pissed this evening (once they recover from the shock) to try and forget the somewhat daunting prospect of having to follow in Freeze's footsteps and host BJSC XLII.

The song currently reigns atop of Fljótavík's own chart for a fourth consecutive week and looks set to become the biggest hit on the top 50 since Watch The World Go By was entered to our debut contest.

Thanks to everyone who voted for Foxes, I am most chuffed. ^_^

Congrats! After nearly scoring points last time and then gaining 5 this time, I'm looking forward to what you come up with as host. Which is unusual as beside Espen I dread the indie block's entries.

Congrats Dandy* :D

A well deserved win imo even though 'Look Back' also received points off me (and would've also been a worthy winner) so it's nice to see someone win for their first time.

Fljótavík host BJSCXLII*

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v369/DandyHighwayman/BJSCXLII.jpg

Taking on the tough challenge of following on from Foxes is a young Scottish singer by the name of Rachel Sermanni. The Fljótavíkian people have really taken to her simple approach to making a catchy little folk song and are pleased to have her representing them, here is 'The Fog' which is taken from her recent Black Currents EP.

BJSCXLII* • Rachel Sermanni does Fljótavík proud in their home contest

Rachel Sermanni has escaped the so called "winner's curse" to bag Fljótavík another top 10 finish as she broke the 100 point barrier and ended up seventh. Considering the lack of support she had received prior to the final, the Fljótavíkian people are suitably proud of her performance.

The country's finishes now stand at 0507 • DNQ • 0905 • 21 • 0107 so the country must decide who should represent them in failing to qualify in BJSCXLIII to continue the pattern! ^_^

The country is very pleased with how well received BJSCXLII* has been and would like to thank the whole BJSC continent for their support during the contest. So "thanks".

I'm considering going pop again next month and have found a song I'm obsessing over somewhat... however the act has been entered before in the past 12 months so I suspect many of you may already know it.

Argh. Decisions decisions.

Sounds exciting! If you want any opinions, feel free to PM me :D
Haha! Well that's one way to boost my thread's post count. :D

 Sorry! :D Like I say, if you want any opinions on your song - feel free to PM me :)

Finally worked out where you got your country name from. Blame late night iTunes playing.

Good choice of late night iTunes playing though. It's often overlooked but I think it's a lovely little track.

I close my eyes and maybe wounds will heal...

Vanbot to represent Fljótavík in BJSC XL!!!

The Swedish pop star has been selected to represent the country in April's BJSC with a track that ticks all the right boxes for me when it comes to a pop track - namely: box 1, does it sound like it could be a Robyn track? TICK.

I'm not totally sure what to expect this time around, I'm currently loving the track but I suspect it may already be known to many other countries who follow the scandipop scene far closer than I.

Fljótavík enter BJSC65 on a comparative high after Rex the Dog managed to bag them yet another 5th place result.

Taking on the tough task of following that are Hercules & Love Affair with the beautiful I Try To Talk To You. The track, written by guest vocalist John Grant, charts his feelings about discovering he was HIV positive and how that affected his life and his relationships. A rather fabulously choreographed video continues the theme perfectly, definitely one of our personal favourite entries to date.

We could've skipped this part,

I could've thought you how to love yourself

I waited patiently,

I hoped that you will be the one to come to me

I try to talk to you,

I thought that you would recognize the need

That you had deep inside

But you have to get there by yourself

I don't understand how we could lose

Tell me everything and make me see

Know that I won't give you anything

I've taken away the pain, taken away the scene

I don't understand how we could lose

Tell me everything and make me see

Know that I won't give you anything

I've taken away the pain, taken away the scene

You didn't have to go,

You didn't have to add this to the next

You let 'em use you good

Baby turn around and say your sake!

Is this what you deserve?!

You're just a man, I'm a human being

And will you listen now?!

This doesn't have to be the way things end

I don't understand how we could lose

Tell me everything and make me see

Know that I won't give you anything

I've taken away the pain, taken away the scene

I don't understand how we could lose

Tell me everything and make me see

Know that I won't give you anything

I've taken away the pain, taken away the scene

Why don't you come to me?

I don't understand how we could lose

Tell me everything you make me see

Know that I won't give you anything

I've taken away the pain, taken away the scene

I don't understand how we could lose

Tell me everything you make me see

Know that I won't give you anything

I've taken away the pain, taken away the scene.
