I only had 2010 - and my highest non-number 1 was Glee's Don't Stop Believin' at 5 - it peaked at 2.
Last year Tinie Tempah & Swedish House Mafia went to thirteen Year End but spent two weeks at number two in the main chart.
The biggest on my chart was "Teenage Dream" last year it peaked at number two but became the 4th biggest hit of the year, great song! :-)

2009 La Roux - In For The Kill | Peak #2 | EOY #4

2010 Florence and the Machine - Dog Days Are Over | Peak #2 | EOY #3

1999 - The Corrs - Runaway (N/A - chart started in June) - EOY #2

2000 - Rank 1 - Airwave (#3) - EOY #11

2001 - Avi + Nat - Together (#2) - EOY #8

2002 - Kelly Llorenna - Brighter Day (#2) - EOY #9

2003 - Delta Goodrem - A Year Ago Today (#2) - EOY #3

2004 - Dannii Minogue vs Flower Power - You Won't Forget About Me (#2) - EOY #10

2005 - Vanilla Ninja - Cool Vibes (#2) - EOY #12

2006 - Rogue Traders - Voodoo Child (#3) - EOY #3 (hung around in the top ten for AGES despite only peaking at #3)

2007 - Take That - Rule The World (#2) - EOY #8

2008 - Alphabeat - Fascination (#2) - EOY #7

2009 - Lady Gaga - Poker Face (#2) - EOY #10

2010 - Boyzone - Gave It All Away (#2) - EOY #11

Voodoo Child is the ultimate non #1, or #2 for that matter  It was bad luck for them because they were stuck behind Lily Allen/Shakira, my two favourite songs of the summer and year, which between them spent half a year in the top two!

2008: Leona Lewis - Better In Time/Footprints In The Sand (#3) - EOY - #10

2009: Paloma Faith - New York (#2) - EOY - #14

2010: Alicia Keys - Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart (#2) - EOY - #7

In 2010 (my only EOY so far), 'If We Ever Meet Again' [Timbaland/Katy Perry] & 'The Writer' [Ellie Goulding] both peaked at #2 and ended up at #8 & #9 on my EOY.

'Since U Been Gone' is my biggest non-#1 hit! It was unfortunate to be blocked from peaking at #1 by Mariah Carey's 'We Belong Together', which is in fact the most successful song in my chart history (12 weeks at #1)!

01 of 2012: Charlotte Perrelli - The Girl #02 (though it did spend 54 weeks on my chart total and would easily have been #1 had I been compiling a chart when it debuted)

Being #1 isn't such a big decider on who is going to top my YE chart for me. In fact it's utterly irrelevant.
