PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let 'Where Them Girls At' overtake 'Party Rock Anthem' on Sunday's Official Chart! Loved PRA when I first heard it (Maybe because of the video aswell :P) but the novelty soon wore off and it's getting annoying.

Novelty  If PRA is anything it isn't a novelty single. If anything's getting annoying, it's David Guetta being unoriginal and using the same beat for every song. He could do so much better ;) I don't HATE the song, it's just one of those songs that is good but at the same time disappoints.

Half the reason I don't want Guetta at no.1 is because LMFAO are there, if it wasn't for them and Bruno was likely to get it, I'd probably be praising Guetta for releasing at the right time and lots of  and :cheer:

As much as I hate LMFAO and Party Rock Anthem the new Guetta No 1 is not much better, he just recycles the same sound and tune it is really annoying.Guetta is beyond being a 1 trick pony he has run out of tricks.I really like Nicky though so hope she can get a UK No 1 but the song is just not good.We need new tracks and soon from Alexandra, Leona, Jason, Kelly, Marina and MIA.

Where Them Girls At and Sexy Chick sound the same, but which of his other songs from 2009 and after sound like Sexy Chick?

He's made two other I Gotta Feelings (Club Can't Handle Me and Gettin' Over You), but I can't think what other songs apart from Where Them Girls At sound like Sexy Chick.

I see Guetta is #1, I don't think he be #1 on tomorrow's mids, maybe on Friday mids for sure.
I don't understand how everyone is going off 'Party Rock Anthem' so quickly! I think if it hadn't been #1 for multiple weeks, people would still like it :(

but songs staying so long at the top can have that effect on you :drama: its why not a huge fan of long running number 1s, they just tire on me :(

Maybe it's to do with my stanning for it ^_^

Gettin' Over You doesn't really sound like IGF or CCHM imo. It sounds more 'housey' then most of his 'commercial era' singles.

I still like the song. Just annoyed it's staying at #1 for so long. I was doing the same with Someone Like You around this time. Luckily Nicole came to give us a break there.

Nobody was like this when 'Someone Like You' was at #1 :( (Apart from those who didn't like it anyway)

The beat for GOY and IGF are almost the same, plus Fergie's bridge is almost the same as the one in Boom Boom Pow. But the 'electro' part of GOY is nothing like his other songs and makes up for being unoriginal. In WTGA the beat is the same for the WHOLE song

I was and I liked the song :kink: its very rare that I don't get sick of a song spending numerous weeks there- it usually results in overplay and gets boring

I agree, PRA is reallllllyyyyy grating on me now, i can't stand it (wasn't really a fan to start tbf). I like WTGA but my fav DG track is Memories, gutted its one of his lowest charting singles!!!!! *goes to give it a listen*

I was feeling the same when Someone Like You was looking to get its 4th week tbh.

However, I was a lot more worried about speaking out about it like people are doing with Party Rock Anthem. Someone Like You was so popular on here, it often caused a lot of unneccesary drama if someone said they were getting bored of it or whatever at the time. So I was probably less vocal about it, but I felt the same way.

Gettin' Over You definitely sounded like I Gotta Feeling to me. Not only with Fergie singing on both songs, but as someone else said, it had that same guitar-type beat, which I think is most famous from one of David's earlier songs called Love Is Gone (which is awesome imo).

Club Can't Handle Me also sounded like I Gotta Feeling. They both conjure up the same emotions in me, and probably have similar chord progressions and instruments (although I haven't checked). They both make me feel nostalgia, even though they're both really recent.

However, Club Can't Handle Me doesn't sound like Gettin' Over You, but they both sound like I Gotta Feeling.

But apart from Where Them Girls At, I'm struggling to think which one(s) sounds exactly the same as Sexy Chick. If someone could please enlighten me?

I suppose the 'calm' parts are similar to IGF and CCHM, but I remember GOY as the 'crazy, hot mess of a song, one' but I remember IGF and CCHM as the generic party songs.

Hips Don't Lie by Shakira spent 12 weeks in the top 3 (five at #1) in 2006 and I don't recall many people moaning about it at the time, perhaps because Radio 1 refused to playlist it, hence it didn't particularly feel overplayed - on the radio at least - music channels played it to death of course!
If 'Where Them Girls At' gets a decent lead over LMFAO, there's a strong chance David Guetta could well grab that #1 spot by Sunday.

I liked Someone Like You for a week or so. But it is so simple, it is just boring. I feel Party Rock Anthem is the same. Someone Like You does not desere year end number 1 IMO, it should be Price tag, which still sounds as good all these weeks later.

For me it's just the #1 position. Other songs that stayed around for ages, like I Gotta Feeling and Love the Way You Lie. Those two songs, along with Hips Don't Lie itself, had the three longest runs in the top 10 from the past 10 years I believe. I wasn't following the charts when Hips Don't Lie was popular, but I coped fine with I Gotta Feeling and Love the Way You Lie, because they weren't at #1 for ages (in the latter case, not #1 at all! :o).

Haha, that's so true. It was like 3 different songs attached together! Especially some of the crazy radio edits going around, which cut out like half the song, the ending result being that each "section" of the song lasted like 10 seconds. It sounded so messy, but it was awesome! :D

I don't mind when songs I like are number 1 for weeks. That is quite selfish though :heehee:. Bleeding Love being number 1 for 7 weeks was heaven . To think, Jessie J almost had 6 weeks at number 1 :snif:.

I dont mind songs staying for a long time at the top.... it just depends on the song - LMFAO is sh!t therefore It staying at number 1 for even a week is pushing it IMO

Shakira managed as long at #1 as Adele and longer than LMFAO!

Were you following the charts when Rihanna had her 10 week stint at the top with Umbrella? All I remember is that it was one long, wet summer - and everyone blamed her and the refusal of that song to budge from #1  She was pretty lucky actually, she was caught up in so many battles where her difference to #2 was quite small, and she lost the midweek #1 a number of times before clawing it back at the weekend. Imagine if Shakira (who sold 30-35k for pretty much 12 weeks solid) had won all of her close battles and got herself an extra few weeks at the top, it could have easily been an 8 weeker at least!
