'The Way I Are' $h!ts all over the overrated GITM. (Imo obviously) I found GITM good on the first couple of listens, then it started to grate. Shame really as I loved everything from Timbaland and his work with Nelly F ('Maneater' aside :puke:) and Justin Timberlake up until that point. I even liked the Buzzjack fave 'Ayo Technology' back then too. (Not so much now, but it's still alright).

TWIA is probably my fave Timbaland song but I (as with Umbrella) got sooo pissed when it beat Foundations - it genuinely made me like TWIA less :drama: It was something like 19 copies iirc as well! :nocheer:

The Guetta/Minaj Flo Rida thing is rubbish. Minaj hasn't taken off the way her people expected so no wonder they've tagged her onto some generic dance song, but tbf it could be worse, another week of LMFAO or the incredibley awful Lazy Song - what a bollocks chart

Nicki has done really well. Her album has been massive in the US, and it got to #1 twice, basically. She's exceeded my expectations, if anything. As I was saying earlier in this thread, I never thought she'd climb to #1 after all those months. I thought with all the hype she got, her first week would be her only chance.

Unpopular opinion - I always far preferred Give It To Me to The Way I Are and still do, its minimalism is its brilliance :wub: I loved the subtle production, great but not 'in your face' chorus and especially Nelly's verse! All of the singles from Shock Value were genius though, yes I'm including Scream in that :P

Yes, I loved the attitude in it, I thought it was hilarious at the time :lol: I was never a big BEP's fan though, and definitely not a fan of Fergie's solo career - Big Girls Don't Cry aside, which was one of my top 5 songs of 2007!

 

The Way I Are has more layered production making it sound like a much more energetic song - I think the fact that all of Timbaland's big three 2007 hits were SO different, despite the fact that they could all be categorised as 'urban' is why he was so successful! He managed to appeal to just about everyone with at least one of those singles.

It was great - featuring the queens of flops Keri and Nicole :wub: (well at least until Nicole somehow made it big here!). Wynter Gordon (aka budget Keri Hilson - imagine that!) was then promoted to the queen of flops title but even she's having hits these days, so it looks as if Kat DeLuna is on her own now :drama: I would lump the likes of Ciara, Amerie and Cassie in but at least they all managed big hits at one time or another!

Bringing the conversation round back to Poker Face (I don't know why I'm doing this :lol:), but Kat DeLuna has a song that sounds EXACTLY like it (I think).

 

 

Exactly the same! :o It has those sound effects that sound like water dripping and echoing. It has those other sound effects from Poker Face that sound like a whirlwind, and those other sound effects from Poker Face (and they're also in Just Dance and Judas), that sound kind of surprising (sorry, I don't know how to describe them :().

 

Not to mention, along with those three sound effects, the beat in general sounds similar, and she goes "oh, oh oh oh" in a similar way to how Lady Gaga does it in Poker Face.
