Set Fire To The Rain #43 :w00t:  :w00t:  Hope it keeps climbing and climbing! Cant wait to see what they come up with for a video, hope it comes soon! The story behind her writing this song is quite funny  One of my favourite songs of all time, and definitely the perfect 3rd single. 21 has already sold 2million copies, and Set Fire To The Rain is going to keep it selling and selling.

Can't be arsed to read back. What's the reason for SFTTR's sudden entry/climb? Not that I'm complaining. It's one of her best songs (at least until radio rape it! <_<) so I'm glad to see it doing well.
Even if Adele's music was the worst thing ever she fully deserves the success because she works so hard. Im expecting 21 to be #1 for a while yet (maybe until Born This Way is released lol).

 are you kidding me

I can deal with one track but 6 tracks  why are people downloading such tripe. -_- Britain has gone wedding crazy. :(

Adele performed it on Graham Norton last night.

I really do not see the logic there.

I really do not see the logic there.

Nor do I. Plus, if she works really hard, then the music wouldn't be bad anyway.

That said though, pretty much everybody in the charts at the moment works extremely hard, except like Snoop Dogg and Tracy Chapman.

I really do not see the logic there.

Nor do I. But luckily its not even relevant as its one of the best british albums of all time.

SFTTR #42

lol i may have just confused even myself. I meant Adele deserves the amount of success because her music is breathtaking and she works really hard for it. Not everyone does in comparison

Also The Lazy Song seems to have stalled... I still see it going #1 next week tho

Adele performed it on Graham Norton last night.
WOAH. A performance on a show like Graham Norton boosts Adele that much, when it barely affects others? :o Just imagine a performance from Adele on Britain's Got Talent/X Factor. She'd be unstoppable at the moment!

Graham Norton performances by relevant artists do tend to give a pretty big boost, I remember it doing so with Jessie J a couple of months back.

Yeah, Adele's like the new Black Eyed Peas now. Whenever she performs on a major TV show she ends up at #1. I think the songs make an impact on people when performed to them.

Set Fire To The Rain's proper release will probably be fairly close to the BGT live shows - and I can totally see them getting her on. Surefire number 1 then methinks, incredible for the 3rd single off a 2 million selling album! :o

Definitely. There's no way they won't get her to perform really. She'll really bring up the viewing figures.

Also, anybody found it funny that Rolling in the Deep could get #1 in the US soon, and Set Fire to the Rain and Turning Tables have charted much higher in the US than in the UK?

She's effectively got four huge singles on the album, and she can choose to release/perform them in whichever order she pleases in any country she wants. She must be the easiest act to manage ever.

I think Graham Norton performances do normally give a visible boost to all artists? Although the boost for SFTTR does seem bigger than usual for a performance on there. (Up to #41 now by the way)

The second Barry Wordsworth et al version of Jerusalem has dropped to #101. I presume the Choir of Westminster Abbey etc. version is climbing because it's the one on the official Royal Wedding album (as are UC, TA:TITDWTLHM and TPOTB(TI):IWG)

I think the wedding songs will peak today and start falling by this evening. Many of them are falling already. Ubi Caritas could just about go top 100 officially but I'm not sure to be honest, Auld Lang Syne has had similar success at New Year the past 2 years and didn't chart officially either time.

Just realised Get it Right and Loser Like Me have got a boost from the repeat shown this morning on T4. :)

SFTTR #41. :D

I'm not sure if Graham Norton usually does have that kind of effect. I remember when Diana Vickers performed TBWML there and it got a boost to about 230 on itunes :kink:

The Boy Who Murdered Love should've been a massive top 10 hit imo. I guess it was on air, on sale, so it was never going to happen. :(
