New Directions continues to strategize their set list for Nationals with a little help from Jessie St. James (guest star Jonathan Groff). Meanwhile, an unexpected loss rocks the world of one of McKinley’s own.

So, like Liam said in the spoilers thread there is a death, however this death is not a student. It's a parent or relative of one of the main characters however. I wonder if it could perhaps be Sue's sister???

I'd rule out Becky as the character that dies as it states 'Rocks the world of one of McKinley's own' suggesting it affects a certain person.

I think you could be right. It could be Sue's sister  That's gonna be HEARTBREAKING if it is! :(
My first guess was Becky aswell, considering they've cast her mother apparantly. However I really how I'm wrong with that as it would seem really unnecessary. I think Jean seems the only other real viable option unfortunetly.

I thought maybe it could be Kurt's father when i heard this episode as he did have health problems but the actor has signed on for season 3.

Hmm, i wonder who it could be

Maybe Becky's mum being cast does have something to do with Jean dying? I'm thinking Sue wants to adopt Becky or something now that she doesn't have her sister to care for? Or is that a bit over dramatic?

No, that's sounds very good. Good theory.

I can only think it's Jean or Becky... In which case it will be heartbreaking tbh  The only options I can see besides those two are one of ND's parents ( but that wouldn't have as much impact on the viewers unless it was Carolet, which won't happen. The only other mum we've seen is Quinn's mum but she's not been in it enough to classify as a big death. Or could be a shock and one of the guests die, like Holly, April or even Idina! But I'm expecting all those to return in Season 3 (Idina probably before) so I'll rule them out.
It won't be Becky as that will affect more than one person, but I definitely think that it could be Jean. That seems like the most feasible guess.

My guess would be for Becky or Jean as well

Then again they could go left field and pick someone's mum.

I don't want any of those people to die! Poor Jean/Sue/Becky/Carole/Burt/Finn/Kurt. (Finn would have two dead parents. How MEAN!)

It won't be Carole, I'm 99% sure it'll be Jean. Ausiello (who reports on upcoming things as it's always correct) has stated that the character that is going to die is a "beloved character". Carole is hardly "beloved", whereas Jean is. The information regarding the episode also states "rocks the world of one of McKinley's own", but if Carole were to die then it would affect both Finn and Kurt quite significantly, whereas if Jean died it would only affect Sue.

There are also the possibilities of April or Shelby. April's death might have an impact on some of the New Directions, but it would primarily affect Will. Shelby's would also only really affect Rachel. I'm still pretty certain that it'll be Jean though.

But if it was Jean, why would the entire of ND go? Actually, I suppose Will could go for moral support to Sue and ND will go for moral support to Will. I still think Becky/April/Shelby are feasible options.

Will the death be sudden? Just thinking, because at the moment we don't know of April/Shelby/Carole having any health problems?

Also keep an eye on confirmations about cast for next season, and the last episodes of this season. For example, Burt has already signed for next season?

^ They could be ran over or something? Plus we've not seen Shelby so she could have like cancer or something. Though actually, I doubt because as she has Beth, surely she'd have been in contact with Quinn to see if she was going to look after her she died. Actually, both those scenarios are a bit dark and depressing for Glee (though surely it was inevitable they'd have death in it somewhere along the line) I'm still thinking Jean/Becky is most likely. For poor Finn to lose Carole too wouldn't be fair. I'd maybe say April could be a possibility because the fact she was in 'Rumours' just 2 episodes before would add to the shock. Though I can see Kristin popping up once or twice a season tbh, it probably won't be her actually.
