So maybe this has a small indication that it could be Shellby. I doubt this but just throwing it in the air.

But she says that in the "Prom Queen" episode, in which the character hasn't passed away yet, so I doubt those two things link. I reckon that Quinn is freaking out because Rachel has cost her title of 'Prom Queen' or something.

ZOMG for the triumphant return of Howard. Oh I'm liking all these primarily early season 1 characters coming back (Sandy being another). Very pleased to see Becky in that last picture, I suppose were left now at it being either Jean or someone related to Becky.

That does seem to be one of the theory's and would explain why her mum has been cast. In a way I'd be disappointed because it's the death of someone we haven't been introduced to yet, not exactly very big - but I don't really want Becky dead yet either.

I'm hoping Santana will sing 'Back to Black' - that would be brilliant! :wub:

That is what I was thinking when I saw the picture. The OP quoted "an unexpected loss rocks the world of one of McKinley’s own" and later someone said "one of the students", neither saying specifically it had anything to do with a New Directions member. Becky's mum could be introduced because we, as the audience, find out she's dying or she has an accident in the episode.

 

I wouldn't be surprised if New Directions sing at the funeral because Brittany is friends with Becky (in "Wheels" she takes Becky to the bake sale they're holding and reveals she copies her work if I remember correctly) and might encourage the others, if it isn't the case of Will getting them to go to support Sue who is supporting Becky.

 

There are many characters I don't want it to be but especially Jean and Becky as they show Sue's softer side. I love that Sue is mean and has an acid tongue, but I want her to be more than that too.
