This is most likely going to ruin her UK career. As others have said, the UK don't take liking to people who have 'abandoned' the UK for the US.
She's an overrated talentless bimbo. I hate her more than i hate Lewis Hamilton.

I imagine it'll be announced as being Sans Cowell and Cole within days.

Love you Silas.

This will be the turning point for her career, it has been all smoke and mirrors in the UK to mask the fact that she cannot sing live, the American press will go to town over her miming no matter how much Simon wants to sugar coat it.

Look on the bright side guys- she's NOT on the UK panel any more! :cheer: that annoying voice and smug grin and overused clichés won't make me want to throw my chair at the TV any more- the US have got to put up with her now :D

and I can only echo what's been said- this isn't gonna go well, the US won't be able to take to her (the fact they can't even understand what she says) and her music without all the hype she gets here won't go down well, plus we've seen what's happened to UK stars who abandon their roots for America (Joss Stone anyone?), so her UK career could fall as well, already, this era was a big step down on her last musically

Loving this thread.

That's all.

This.

Utterly amazing thread.

I've said it many times before but I REALLY don't think Cheryl's going to be a hit in the USA. Her accent is obviously a major point, but the most obvious thing here is that she's not even known there. She's desserting the fans who love her for a country where she is unknown and I see nothing but a giant backfire coming Simon and Cheryl's way. I'd love to be proved wrong though because this is very exciting news as a Girls Aloud/Cheryl fan.
The thread title's still - it says 'Chery Cole' :kink:

*changes*

But I think this is a silly move on Fox's behalf. Cheryl won't draw viewers like other people (ie. Nicole Scherzinger) would. There's still another judge to be announced, presumably female, and if they are known in America, they'll over-shadow Cheryl. And it certainly won't help her in the UK.

I agree with everyone else about her career tanking in the UK. She's screwed because the US ain't gonna want her, y'all remember what they did to Ashley Simpson after she mimed on TV....

This thread has been thoroughly spring cleaned to remove any potentially libellous material. I accept it was wrong to use that word and that it could have brought my forum and Buzzjack some serious problems. For that, I apologise.

Thank God

Now Simon and Chavva have both left hopefully this means this year will actually be good

I can't wait to see the USA not take to her in the slightest. That combined with the fact that the British public usually turn on people who they feel have abandoned them for America = BYE BYE BRITAINS SWEETHEART
She lost the title of "Britains Sweetheart" ever since Adele made a comeback

I don't think the US will "go to town" over her for miming. They're not as bothered about it (unless the record skips or whatever ala Ashlee Simpson). Britney for example (I don't know whether it's because of her status over in America though) got rave reviews for her tour (not the same for the UK) despite the fact she mimed. So as long as she puts on a show like Britney did then I don't think the US will be all that bothered tbh.

It's alright though. I'd rather us had Nicole Scherzinger. - She's slowly becoming the nations second sweetheart, despite not being British!

I'm so pleased with the news. She will be a Global star before we know it. Just read she will get £2.2million for the first series alone :o That's sure to rise if she is there another season!

Now Simon and Cheryl have left UK X Factor it will have the inevitable ratings plunge. (Like Britain's Got Talent)

When is the UK panel announced? I heard it was meant to be this week... or is it just US panel that's announced this week?

I believe it's just the US panel being announced this week.

Oh rumour has it Paula Abdul will have to be confirmed this week as filming starts on Sunday in Los Angeles, according to Wikipedia.
I'm probably the only person who can see the US responding to her quite well (despite probably not understanding a word she says). Hopefully the show does fail though. I'd love to see both her and Simon's reaction and next move. Does anyone else think they have taken the success of the UK series for granted? The final almost peaked at 20 million viewers which isn't too far off from American Idol! What a way to jeopardise that by getting rid of the two most popular judges. The media are obviously going to spin it as if the UK isn't good enough for either of them. Haha. The recent love for Dannii Minogue is probably about to increase quite a lot...
