:cheer: Hopefully by the end of this week 'Judas' will be Top 5. With a Top 10 Chart placing on Sunday. :D

'The Edge Of Glory' will premiere in a few hours, but has it even been confirmed that its being added to UK iTunes? Last time she released Promo Album Singles (Alejandro and Dance In The Dark) the UK was the only place who didn't get them...

Im 90% sure its a worldwide release, its premiering soon, and on iTunes at 8pm i think.

Are we sure the UK are getting 'Edge of Glory'? I'm pretty sure only the US got Katy Perry & J Lo "countdown to the albums" thing. Black Eyed Peas released, but that was before this album countdown thing took off properly and every major artist seemed to do it.
Oh it definitely is! Bad Romance for me was utter pop perfection, I don't see how she can ever hope to top that personally - and early evidence of her new album is that she's come nowhere close to it. It's still my most anticipated album of the year - plus I have to remember that The Fame had its fair share of fillers, but The Fame Monster was SO strong that everybody's set impossibly high standards for her to achieve. I expect it to be somewhere between the two quality wise, it's just that what The Fame lacked in overall top quality, it made up for in the killer first three singles.

I'm just not at all interested in Born This Way personally :( I'm not bothered who or what it's ripping off (I love Cascada's new Katy Perry by numbers song for example and Blue's take on Written In The Stars ) but the production to me felt overwhelming like she'd chucked in everything apart from the kitchen sink, the chorus was unspectacular and the 'don't be a drag, just be a queen' refrain seriously makes me cringe something chronic. It really all felt like style over substance to me and all those factors combined meant that it's never a song that I'd listen to out of choice.

That's how I felt for ages but I really love Born This Way now... it was the don't be a drag bit that always put me off but I'm over that now and it stands out as a unique (for her, not for Madge obviously!) song in her catalogue. It may even be as high as second to Bad Romance in my affections now. :o

I like both Born This Way and Judas, although the latter a bit more even though its a blatant rip of Bad Romance

I'd say there below Bad Romance, Poker Face and Telephone, but above Just Dance, Paparazzi and Alejandro, and well above LoveGame

I choose to forget that LoveGame exists (and all the album tracks on the original Fame for that matter).

'Bad Romance' really isn't as good as people on here make out imo. It's a great pop song, don't get me wrong, but it's really not "pop perfection". The lyrics are ridiculous in parts, the music is still quite generic, it's only really the "Ra Ra Ra-a-a-ah" bit that made it seem unique.

'Judas' is far more "perfect" than BR. From the unique lyrical concept, to the vocal, to the instrumental which reminds me of 'Personal Jesus' actually (coincidence?).

I'd also probably rank 'Poker Face' (simply based on the brilliant lyrics) higher than BR.

Had Judas come first, and Bad Romance second, I expect a lot of people would feel differently. But for me, Bad Romance was Gaga taking an already damn near perfect sound with Poker Face and tuning it to perfection. No matter how many times I hear it, I still never tire of it, I find it far more anthemic than anything else she's done. Judas, imo, is her peddling the same sound again, but with far less impact, because she's retreading old ground sound wise. Had it come out in place of Bad Romance in October 2009 though I expect it would be seen as revolutionary.

Judas just needs a different chorus and it would be amazing. It begins with attitude and a punch to the verses but then it gets to the chorus and I still can't shake the image of Steps standing in a line performing a dance to it. :(

It's peak was so low because it had already sold over 100,000 downloads before it's release - which is pretty fantastic.

Oh, I see. I think part of the problem is that she had a different US release schedule to the UK, so Love Game got popular earlier in the US (I think), which meant that it got cherry-picked in the UK loads before it got promoted here (since we all have the Internet ). I think it sold quite a lot.

Well, that expalins it .

If only :D Can you imagine the media uproar if they'd spouted out 'I'm just a holy fool, oh baby he's so cruel, but I'm still in love with Judas baby'! Their clean cut reputation would be in tatters! It would have been watered down to 'I'm just a lovestruck fool, but baby he's so cool, and I'm still in love with my baby' before it reached the single release stage :D Although now you've mentioned it the chorus is very much like the sort of thing I can imagine them singing, melody wise!

The chorus is the only decent part of Judas. The verses are literally just noise. No melody whatsoever and that really puts me off. BTW, on the other hand, is melody driven throughout.

I can see the Steps comparison though, never thought of that before. That would have killed their career in an instant though!

Paper Gangsta is awesome (off The Fame)!! lol, and the 8 songs on TFM are all epic in different ways (particular DITD).

From what i've heard of remixes and snippets off BTW im positive it could be incredible, but we'll have to wait and see. I love how Judas + BTW seem to be growers for a lot of people too

Judas :D Hopefully it'll get a new peak this week, preferably at least top 6. It doesn't deserve to be her 2nd lowest peaking single :(

Edge Of Glory could go top 10 as well I reckon - it'd be weird if it somehow outpeaks Judas just because it has a better planned release. The new promo single next week could do the same. I just hope we don't see EOG have a chart run of something like 8-95 :drama: One of Taylor Swift's countdown singles to SN (I think Mean?) had an initial chart run on the US Hot Digital Songs Chart of 1-out.

Guetta is increasing again so I reckon he will end up #1 this week. I don't really mind who's #1 as long as it isn't somehow LMFAO again. WTGA and TLS are both great songs.

Yasmin looking good for a top 15 place or possibly low top 10 (Aloe Blacc got to #10 without ever going top 10 on iTunes so with Yasmin's 2 Freemasons mixes also in the top 200 plus the EP sales she could just scrape in - expecting more like 12 or 13 though) :D

The Good Child Foundation could go top 20 as well but I have a feeling they'll plummet midweek and end up in the low top 40 a la 'Lonely Sky'. (Anyone remember that? :kink: Went top 10 on iTunes after being featured in some Noel Edmonds thing but ended up only charting at #36 - although I think it was deleted during the week to be fair)

Inna should go at least top 30, maybe top 20. Not too bad really after Déjà Vu massively underperformed and as most people thought she wouldn't even get a second hit after Hot and this is now going to be her 4th hit and third top 40.

This is true Bad Romance is overrated-I think the video being so good made some people just get carried away.

I prefer the Judas video to the song but Gaga's career seems to be turning into a poor imitation of Madonna.Born this Way a duller version of Express Yourself.Judas a duller video and music version of the excellent Like a Prayer.

So this Edge of Glory isnt an actual single? its just a promo track?

YES.

Interested to hear "Edge of Glory" - I can imagine that while writing both "Born This Way" and "Judas", GaGa realised they were likely comeback singles and had an absolute ton of pressure on her to deliver. If EOG is just a buzz track, it'll probably be more unassuming and (hopefully) better.
