Notorious >>>>>>>MissingYou>>>>>>>JustCantGetEnough>>>>>>>>>>>>Forever Is Over.

What we need to remember is that Up was released during a hard time period (X-FACTOR) I'm almost 100% sure It would have got to number one had it been released any other time... It was always quite close in pop bars.

Notorius for me is their weakest single by quite some way - for a lead single it is poor; I cant see it doing an album any favours and really after the wordshaker flop they need this album to be successful - you cant really call the mini-album Headlines a success as it was a bridge to prolong their ailing careers.

Notorious is not really the lead single for the album to be released though? The next single is the one that's really supporting the new album or the third single. You can call the headlines a success! That comment is ridiculas. Higher & Puppet & Karma & Missing You were new songs that's it.. for that to gain 180k sales I would say is very impressive and over 700k sales overall is Very Impressive for Headlines.

Wordshaker was a flop but compared to album sales these days it didin't do as bad as people make out! 80k is not brilliant but it's still outselling many albums.

Heared the song for the firs time in full last night. Wow, this is seriously poor. They have tried to go for the whole "current sound" but it comes off a mess. There is no chorus! No doubt it will do well but its the worst single they have ever released IMO.

Completely agree with that.

So it isn't the first single to be taken from a new album then?

I think my problem with this reaching number-one is that although it'd be great for the girls to get their first #1 single, 'Notorious' is not by a long way their best song; so it'd be unjust for this to reach number-one and be remembered for it - whilst the likes of 'Missing You', 'Forever Is Over', 'Just Can't Get Enough' and 'Up' have all missed out.

I'd say the likes of 'Higher' and 'Issues' would be far better #1s than MY, JCGE and FIO.

With the exception of 'If This Is Love' and 'Work', The Saturdays' multi-worded titles have gone top 3 and dropped quickly (the three you mentioned) while their single-worded titles peaked between 4 and 10 but spent much longer in the top 100. Even 'Work' had more top 100 weeks than 'Forever Is Over'. So if 'Notorious' follows suit it'll peak somewhere between 4 and 10 (hopefully 6 or 7 as they're the only top 10 positions they haven't peaked at yet, aside from #1 :P) and spend 20+ weeks in the top 100.

I think it'll chart at either #4 or #5, but I had to go for "Number 5-10" as there was no option for Top 5. -_-

I'm a HUGE Sats fan but I agree this is one of their weaker singles..I love the sound it's just not catchy enough and I'm waiting for the beat to drop but it never does...

They should have tried a dubstep bit aka Britney Spears - Hold it against me style.

I'm hoping this does well for them and the album does well, or they are in trouble :(

IMO this is their best chance at #1 - the competition is weak (Pitbull), and sales for #1's have been decidedly low for weeks.

e.g. I doubt Pitbull will have sold 75k - maybe 80k if he's lucky.

Top 10, such an awful song!

That didn't hurt LMFAO, so why would it hurt the Saturdays?

First half is amazing.

After Frankie's middle 8, though, it goes to hell. :( The last chorus is DIRE! :( I hate it.

Maybe just the greatest TV performance they've ever done? All kinds of amazing.

^Agree. I reckon #2/#3.

If they'd have released it next week, with a performance on Britains Got Talent, then I reckon they could have got a #1.

Hated it last week but loving it now it f

Grows on you!!! I kept thinking last week It's missing a big chorus but now I'm loving that! Credit they are trying to do something different not follow the crowd!!! I will never forgive them

Not picking one shot as their leaf single over the awful forever is over or one shot as a single full stop

I really like this! Not a huge Sats fan but I liked Up and I think Notorious is a return to that kind of sound. Lyrically it's hit and miss but I love the lack of chorus makes it a little more distinctive in the world of "club bangers" that we live in.

Notorious is just okay. I wasn't 'wow' by it. Might peak at #3 or so.

Just thought of this.

What if The Saturdays cover "Run Devil Run"?

Ke$ha and Girls Generation mash-up of RunDevilRun

Could they be successful?
