I've put £20 on this year. I usually only put a tenner on but I've agreed to three extra shifts at work next week (£140 earnings) so I figured I might as well take a couple of chances. I haven't put anything on France as I think that their odds are too short to bother with, I was tempted to put something on Denmark but I'm not sure if their draw might leave them *just* out of the top four. But in the end I've gone with

£5 each way on United Kingdom to win @ 10/1

£5 each way on Russia to win @ 66/1

Of course I don't see Russia winning, but you have to do the winning bet to get the each way bet option up as far as I can see and if they can sneak into the top four, which I think they could, that would be an £82.50 return. UK winning would return £55 and each way (surely we're going top four at least?) £13.75, which would at least be a small return on that investment.

I finally got around to betting. Decided against doing Bosnia, I was probably overrating them, his performance wasn't good last night. Instead I put a fiver on Serbia to go top 4 (late draw, very catchy song, I think it will get the Balkan vote and many casual viewers) and a fiver for Sweden to win, so that if they do £150 will take the sting off

 I didn't expect you to say that!

I'd love Sweden to win - Eurovision in Globen :w00t:

A tenner on Moldova...what a bloody brilliant performance and a ridiculously catchy song! It has the Lordi effect and people are talking about it, so I think it's gonna get it! :D

I put the same bets on, but when Russia was looking to be a snip at 29/1 :arrr:

 I'm still not sure that they'll finish top 4 but I think that odds of 66/1 are incredibly dangerous at this stage. They're hardly likely to miss the top ten and Russia should never be discounted with a decent entry.

What does betting 'each way' mean?

If they don't win but come 2nd, 3rd or 4th you win a quarter of what you'd have won if they had come 1st. If they come 1st you win the extra quarter on top of your winnings anyway!

Placed my 'big bets' on who i think will win however i split a fiver on the following as if i lose i have only lost £5 and in the world of Eurovision anything can happen as we well know!

Russia - 50p each way - Winnings if they finish Top 4 - £40.60

Moldova - 50p each way - Winnings if they finish Top 4 - £91.00

Lithuania - 25p each way - Winnings if they finish Top 4 - £75.50

Switzerland - 25p each way - Winnings if they finish Top 4 - £30.40

Ukraine - 50p each way - Winnings if they finish Top 4 - £49.00

Greece - 25p each way - Winnings if they finish Top 4 - £45.50

Mad set of bets but placing 50p bets in the past on countries the bookies never thought had a hope in hell of doing well has earnt me a nice sum of money

I remember Denmark and Estonia being well down in the odds (150/1!) in 2000 and 2001 before sweeping to comfortable victories, so the bookies can definitely get it completely wrong, along with the rest of us - I doubt many fans had thought that either of those would do anything. I remember voting for Estonia in 2001 thinking it was by far my favourite song/performance and that I'd be kind and see if I could help save them from the bottom five
Me and my dad have put some bets on this year. I've had £2 each way on Azerbaijan, Germany and the UK, whilst he's had £2 each way on Hungary and Denmark. I still think France will win though.
I've been a bit of a wimp and put £2.50 each way on Blue at 10/1 and £2.50 each way on Estonia at 20/1.

I do want to start my gambling addiction by putting some bets but i don't know where to start in the first place :(

It took me 3 years to register on ebay :(

Well, losses of about £20 in total on Blue and Russia for me, however if Tom pays up the £20 on the Eric Saade bet then I've managed to gain a total of a fiver on this year's contest (when put in addition to a drunken fool who bet me a fiver that ROMANIA would beat Blue )

Well done with Ukraine there!

Doubled my money with Azerbaijan winning :D

I spent €10 overall and did loads of samll bets, it makes the voting more exciting, even though i had small bets on sweden and azerbaijan i only managed to make €8.63 so i made a €1.37 loss, still though it was a bit of fun and i didnt lose a fortune so i cant complain.
