This said, having the groups means he actually has MORE young men to hand than if he got the boys!

I agree with Shoat tbh - no-one's saying the requirement to be a judge should be that you have to have atleast five multi-platinum albums and a mezzo-soprano vocal range, but there surely has to be a happy medium between talent and success on the one hand, and entertainment value on the other. It's not like N-Dubz are even THAT big anyway, or well-known - I'm pretty sure the mums and grannies who probably make up atleast half of XF's audience will have no idea who the hell Tulisa is.

 

With that said, I still think the vast majority of people who are resolving that they'll stay away from the show this year will end up watching by the third live show at the latest, even if they were to announce that the panel was going to consist solely of Louis Walsh and Kelly Brook. The show is just destined to always be huge - it's winter, everyone is in on Saturday/sunday evenings, Strictly Come Dancing has pretty much given up trying to compete with it, and XF are awfully good at drawing people in, with their manufactured controversies, the so-bad-they're-good Jedward/Wagner acts, the faux-tension of the staged judges' elimination every week, and so on...

they wouldn't plop someone on the panel if there was no substance behind them.

Kelly will clearly be the best of the judges. In interviews/chat/panel shows I've seen her on she looks like a RIGHT LAUGH.

tbh I was a bit WTF at first for this panel, but I'm willing to give them a chance- and tbh a revamp is needed, it would get boring with the same panel over and over

Well I suppose if we must have a NU QUEEN OF HEARTS it may as well be Dame Kelly. I want her to recite the anecdote about a dolphin coming over her face LIVE ON AIR though.

Actually quite looking forward to the new panel. Kelly Rowland will be great, I'm sure, and Tulisa's going to be interesting at the very least.

 

The lineup was looking a bit tired last year, and that was my first time watching it.
