Posted May 16, 201115 yr Bush looking to stop Adele's chart run Source: MW Tuesday May 17, 2011 By Paul Williams Singles On singles Elektra/Atlantic’s Bruno Mars has a lead of around 3,000 sales as Lazy Song looks to spend a second week at the top with the J/RCA-issued Give Me Everything by Pitbull featuring Nayer, Afrojack & Ne-Yo its closest challenger. Former number one Party Rock Anthem by LMFAO featuring Lauren Bennett and GoonRock is in third place, while fellow Interscope/Polydor release The Edge Of Glory by Lady GaGa is ranked fourth having debuted in sixth spot on last Sunday’s chart. Following extensive TV promotion for her, including an appearance on Graham Norton’s BBC1 Friday night chat show and the screening of her Big Weekend performance, it is one of two GaGa singles among the Top 10 sellers and part of a quartet in the Top 20. Judas improves 11-8, Hair arrives at 13 and Born This Way revives 24-14. Blue’s I Can might have only finished in 11th place in last Saturday’s Eurovision Song Contest but the Blueworld-issued single is enjoying a significant lift in sales. Its numbers are 176% up on the week, moving it from 26th on last week’s chart to a current position this week of 10th. Virgin act Swedish House Mafia will be returning to the Top 40 this Sunday as Save The World shows up as a new entry at 19, but Polydor’s new Take That single Love Love is finding it tough during its second week of release, dipping from 15 on last week’s chart to a present position this week of 29. Albums Kate Bush has taken an early lead over Adele in UK artist albums sales this week, but with a deficit of fewer than 3,000 units to make up the XL signing’s 21 could still make it a 16th week at number one. Bush’s newly-released Director’s Cut, her first issued by the label Noble & Brite via EMI, is aiming to become the singer’s first UK chart-topper since retrospective The Whole Story in 1986. Her last album Aerial peaked at number three in November 2005. The album had sold 17,562 copies up to yesterday compared to 14,645 for Adele’s 21, which is currently one of three XL albums among the top five sellers. It is joined in third place by the newly-issued second Friendly Fires album Pala and 21’s predecessor 19 in fifth place, while the top five sellers is completed by Warner Music Entertainment’s Let Them Talk by Hugh Laurie at number four. The Laurie album debuted at two on last Sunday’s chart. Following their televised Radio 1 Big Weekend performance, the Foo Fighters’ Columbia-handled album Wasting Light is experiencing a 29% week-on-week lift in sales, enough to return to the Top 10 positions. Placed 12th on last week’s final chart, it is currently the eighth best seller of the week, two positions above Rome, the brand new Parlophone-issued collaboration between Danger Mouse & Danielle Luppi. Meanwhile, Foo Fighters’ Greatest Hits retrospective is 14th after its sales lifted 150% week on week. The self-titled debut album from Island/Zion rock band Mona, one of the most-talked-about new acts of 2011, is making its mark at 20, while Moby’s new album Destroyed, released by his Little Idiot label, is 24th in the week to date. It is joined by a posthumous new album from John Martyn, Heaven And Earth, released by the Hole In The Rain label, which is the 30th biggest seller so far this week. [02] This is a mid thread for every artist do not go on and on and on about a certain artist to bring the board into disrepute. [03] Please be patient when you are asking for a request, as you might not get an answer straight away. [04] Any member asking for information that isn't in the updates we don't have, always read the topic before you post, I do not want to see questions like Where is Britney? repeated several times on every page of the thread, once is enough, bookmark the page if you don't have time to read all of the topic. Its not that hard. [05] Do not use BLOCK CAPITALS when posting a sentence its considered as shouting and rude. [06] Do not use Text Talk. [07] Do not use a light colour font when posting please its hard to read the topic, not everyone has 100% vision. [08] Please give a mention to who posted the chart info or the site name where you seen the mid info if you are copying and posting the chart info elsewhere, it takes forever trying to re-edit all the information up for you to see. [09] Please do not post lists, or sales info unless you are told to by myself or a chart mod, if you do have sales info that you wish to share round them off to the nearest thousand and name your source, do not post precise sales figures. [10] Regarding chart postions when posted when you see a sum/substraction for example 22+4, 40-7, if you add/subtract both figures together it gives you the actual position for the track. Its just simple addition or substraction. Go Figure.
May 17, 201115 yr Author Don't expect to see Hair top 40 today, it probably show on tomorrow's mid update, with 3 hours of release last night she probably be around top 75-ish, plus the tracks on the iTunes chart are nearly 2 days ahead of her.
May 17, 201115 yr Don't expect to see Hair top 40 today, it probably show on tomorrow's mid update, with 3 hours of release last night she probably be around top 75-ish, plus the tracks on the iTunes chart are nearly 2 days ahead of her. She was at #19 on iTunes at midnight, though, does that not mean she sold as much in 3 hours as the #19 did in 2 days? If popbars indeed work on a 48hour roll...
May 17, 201115 yr dayummm I didn't expect hair to be that high already! Gaga domination in the charts today and I wish david guetta would have waited a bit longer to release this so that the video would have been out at the same time :(
May 17, 201115 yr Hair 13 already  :w00t: No idea how it managed that. Hope Judas and TEOG can repeak this week. Think Pitbull will be number one this week.
May 17, 201115 yr WOW at Hair #13 already :o Delighted for Judas. I think Nicole will be around #41 and should enter the top 40 tommorow.
May 17, 201115 yr With Pitbull already at number 2, it could easily overtake Bruno Mars by Sunday if it maintains a good lead on iTunes. Great to see Gaga doing so well too, although I expect all entries will climb a place or two by Sunday (shocked at 'Born This Way' only at #15 though - expected it to be #13).
May 17, 201115 yr Aww, Eric Saade didn't even get a split second of glory here :( Hope Ell & Nikki can stay top 40 for the Radio 1 midweek update tomorrow, I'm already laughing at the thought of Greg playing Lipstick  Blue definitely never going to go top ten, and probably no higher than #16 with I Can, what a shame :( Still, a major improvement on last year in every way possible. How did Gaga manage that in 3 hours? :o
May 17, 201115 yr QUEEN NICOLE  Nicole should enter tomorrow with RT! :bounce: Edited May 17, 201115 yr by KΛTH
May 17, 201115 yr Author How did Gaga manage that in 3 hours? :o I really wasn't expecting that to be honest :o I'm as shocked as you are
