You might want to start practicing your hosting skills. It could be you next month hosting BJSC XXXV. :o

I refuse to lose my most appearances before debut win record to Kylinips.

I must be third in that surely then?

Final ODDS to win from FSR Rontvia's Rontbet;

3/1 Kylienips: Suzie McNeil - Drama Queen

3/1 Letland: Le Kid - America

4/1 Kopečka: War of Words - Panic

7/1 Elëdan: Idool 2011 - More To Me

-----------------------------------

9/1 Utopia: Those Dancing Days - I'll Be Yours

9/1 FSR Rontvia: Eric Amarillo - Om Sanningen Ska Fram

10/1 Fljótavík: Le Prix & Johan Agebjörn feat. Lake Heartbeat - Watch The World Go By [Fljótavík Re-Edit]

10/1 People’s Republic of Jester: Radio Killer - Lonely Heart

10/1 Espen: Vii - Ton Goût Des Garçons

-----------------------------------

12/1 Ashton: Stan Walker - Loud

15/1 Torchwood: Getter Jaani - Robot

15/1 Botanikka: Cobra Starship featuring Sabi - You Make Me Feel

18/1 Ojnoj: Blake Lewis - Heartbreak On Vinyl

20/1 Bignia-Zaragovina: Stella Mwangi - Lookie Lookie

20/1 Yuxhaaq: Christina Perri - Arms

25/1 Hendinia: SoundGirl - Don't Know Why

25/1 Zechonia: Electric Lady Lab - Wondering

30/1 FNT Nickodonia: Safura - Paradise

35/1 New Caprica: Colette Carr - (We Do It) Primo

35/1 Isconia: Niki & The Dove - DJ, Ease My Mind

40/1 Batidas: SX - Black Video

40/1 Lievant: Bon Iver - Calgary

40/1 Tinnmark: LidoLido - Different

50/1 Quotosibb: Keri Hilson - Break The Ice

50/1 N-Lazone: Baker - All I'm Gonna Say

50/1 Frahliso: Tying Tiffany - Lost Way

It's probably between 4 or 5 songs but there's a strong group of less obvious contenders behind the main five pop favourites which could quite easily break into contention...

Now I much prefer those odds! :D

I think I'd probably guess at a Letland victory but the rest of it is really difficult to predict. I'd be over the moon to finish top 10 and it's flattering to see Fljótavík's odds improve but I suspect top 20 is probably the best I can hope for. If I was to guess at a top 10, it would probably be:

01 Letland

02 Kopečka

03 Elëdan

04 FSR Rontvia

05 Espen

06 People’s Republic of Jester

07 Kylienips

08 Botanikka

09 Utopia

10 Hendinia

Absolutely wide open this month, but we're seeing a three-horse race with Kylienips having only an outside chance of winning. Our big predictions for dark horsage are Batidas...

Such contrasting odds from Rontvia Rontbet and Kopečka Betting Shop. :o

Does Kopečka really think Batidas could be a dark horse/contender? :D

I've thought all along that the winner of BJSC XXXIV will come from Semi Final 2. Now that it's wide open and there are 28 songs to vote from, I think we could see a lot of the Semi Final 1 qualifiers voting for tracks from SF2. Then of course there are the DNQ nations who will also be voting. I still honestly think it could be any of at least 10 tracks that could win this. :o Bare in mind the "Pop Vs Indie" block voting as well which will undoubtably benefit songs with crossover appeal.

Oh definitely. It's the sort of lush dark thing I can imagine crossing over to an extent Uh Huh Her-style - I wouldn't be massively shocked if it were to make the top five, but I reckon low top ten is likely.
I like Le Kid but I am not sure if it's a winner...in the other side Getter Jaani  odds are low...I can see finishing inside top 3.

2nd favourite? :o

As much as I'd be ecstatic with that I can't see it going higher than 6th, isn't that the glass ceiling for dance? Let alone foreign male dance...

  • Author
It's just as much influenced by Scandipop (not least in the chord progression) as it is by dance overall - I could very easily see it crossing over. It's not really dance in the same way the likes of Alexandra Stan are...
I like Le Kid but I am not sure if it's a winner...in the other side Getter Jaani  odds are low...I can see finishing inside top 3.

The thing with me not putting Le Kid as the runaway favourite (although a win is hardly out of the realms of possibility) is that I don't see why this should suddenly be a winning track for them when everything else of theirs that has been sent has faltered. The closest song they have to this, a la mellow dreamy electro, is Escape, and that absolutely bombed in the results - it tends to be their more uptempo songs that have done best in the contest. I'm just not sure that America will be the song to finally bring Le Kid their win...

That said, I'm not sure about Kylienips either, I've only got it on top because it's 'very Buzzjack', but a Kopecka win would be just as likely come to think of it, I might revise those odds later in the week

We could well have a shock winner this month all things considered :o

  • Author
Kylienips is a bit TOO close to the bone in typical Buzzjack terms, and it isn't helped by the face that, as a song, there's really not much to it. In terms of Le Kid Escape wasn't that great whereas this is fully in keeping with the likes of Call The Shots and The Loving Kind - both of which would've been easy BJSC wins by another artist. I agree that we could easily see a shock this month.

I can see where you're coming from there actually, I really must revise my odds - they're really difficult to call this month. I disagree, it's my second favourite of theirs after We Should Go Home Together - the verses, bridge and backing track are incredible for me, although I appreciate that my Le Kid taste is the reverse of most people's, hence why I'm definitely not ruling out a win for America. It's still a great song, and better than a large chunk of the finalists for me. It wouldn't actually surprise me if the winner came from that second group I have below the top five in my odds, or indeed your own entry.

  • Author
I bloody well HOPE it's my own entry. I've only been spending the last three months entering tracks I thought must have had it in the bag for giving me a third win and shooting myself in the foot each time  If it happens this third time I will NOT BE BEST IMPRESSED.

You thought Michelle would be a contender to win?

And Sadness Is A Blessing was 15 points clear of You'll Never Love Me. Anyway, any foot shooting would have come from me if you'd amassed the extra points to bridge the gap, considering I gave you the full 12

I'm not sure that I'd be predicting Panic to win had it been entered to many of the other contests, but there's no runaway winner here this month and one of about 10 songs could get the momentum to romp to victory. It being a very easily accessible female pop song means that it probably has an advantage over at least 7 or 8 of that pack.

No, I'm counting from You'll Never Love Me and counting Panic :P

I'm aware Sadness was 15 ahead, and I'm not particularly begrudging of either of my losses (well, perhaps You'll Never Love Me given a couple of people have said they really love it now who didn't vote for it at the time  - but I can't really begrudge Riverside given I gave it the 12!).

Ok, that's understandable then. Three close second places on the trot would surely hurt a lot?
