I like the album title. It's.. weird. Weird is good.

Stylo was disqualified?? I always thought it flopped!! That makes me mad then, too.

Β

I thought so too! It failed to reach top 100 but didn't know there was something else behind

Β

I went into a bit of a Gorillaz loon mode a while back, and I looked up where Stylo had got to. Apparently it got rather high on iTunes, so it probably didn't miss the top 100. It could have been a similar situation to Paradise, but not as accentuated. I can't remember the reason, and I don't remember if it was confirmed or not. That's all really. On Melancholy Hill got in the 80s or something, as well, and I think that was after the album release.

I'm pretty sure Stylo ended up at something like 42? I know it was close to top 40, I remember thinking it had gotten top 40 but not hearing it on the chart show, looked and it was 40something.

Nope, it didn't chart. In their chartstats profile, only On Melancholy Hill and Doncamatic are there from the post-Demon Days lot. And I've checked otherwise.

At least we got a music video from it, which is more than can be said for Rhinestone Eyes :snif:.

I get melancholy (not a pun) when thinking about that era. When an era gets messed up, it's really depressing. It also seems to happen to the best albums.

I thought it did at least chart, whatever rule prevented it doing so is ridiculous. Not that I'm a Gorillaz fan, but what's selling should chart - simple as. Same with Paradise. I really like it and it'd be a shame for such a great song to miss out because of the pre-order rule :( I can see it getting something like 27 because once it is eligible it will inevitably have fallen, even if it gets the slight album boost from having a single and album version available, it won't be enough.

Β

The album will obviously be number 1 selling 200k+ first week though, so it's not all too bad!

Stylo was disqualified for the same reason as Viva La Vida/Paradise (and Pendulum's Salt In The Wounds which should have gone at least top 100). It's because you get the song instantly when pre-ordering the album on iTunes. I have no idea why this causes the song to be ineligible as you can still buy the song separately and I'm sure it would be possible to separate 'individual sales' and 'pre-order sales', but alas that's what the OCC's rules are.

Β

Stylo never did go top 200 so I assume that by the time the album was released it was just not selling enough to chart. I assume it would enter the chart at last if it ever starts selling enough again.

Paradise is a boring single, sorry...I would love to like it, but it doesnΒ΄t work for me...I hope charlie brown is better
  • 3 weeks later...

Charlie Brown is slowly beginning to creep into my all-time favorite songs, and that's only from the live performances!

Β

Also, I love Mylo Xyloto (the opening 40-second instrumental). There's this wonderful live version where it leads into Hurts Like Heaven.

Β

I seriously just can't wait. :D

LOVING that

Have to say I was no Coldplay fan before this era, as I have always liked some of their songs but found them a right bore, however all of this is fantastic.

Never liked a Coldplay song. Now I do. What is this madness?!!
Repeating what I said in the chart topic, could someone please inbox me an HQ mp3 of this?? I can't find one and it's AMAZING.

The album has leaked in full ^_^
