LOL what? janet brought something more original to the table, whereas what mischa did has been done a million times before. voice-wise, she's a millionth clone of tina turner. rap-wise, she's a really, really poor version of ms. dynamite.

What on earth was original about Janet? She did an impersionation of Ellie Goulding, even with every last pronunciation. Misha had a powerhouse vocal, with a rap-edge, which she wrote herself. I don't think we have ever had a solo female contenstant who has performed their own rap at their audition. Cher, although she rapped (badly), she never wrote any of her own, despite what she would like us to believe, during the show.

And, as you can probably tell, I disagree with Liam too, about Misha being the new Cher. Misha is likeable, has a powerhouse vocal and writes her own raps, even from the start of the competition. Although Cher's audition was alright, she never had those powerhouse vocals, and the soul in her voice that Misha has. I think they are two very different artists, just because they both rap, doesn't mean they are similar. The most similar person to Misha we have seen on X Factor would be the lead out of Miss Frank, and Misha is by better vocalist than her by a good bit.

By Mischa being the new Cher Lloyd, I meant in strictly the sense they're both singer/rappers, they're vocally totally different, and of course Mischa won't get the hate Cher did, she's much more likeable, but personally I love both. Cher has more of a 'pop' voice, she reminds me of a rapper and a pop singer who gets tacked on to do a hook in one, but Mischa has more of an R&B/soul voice, whereas Cher was a stronger rapper than singer (despite Stay being BY FAR her best performance, her singing was inconsitent I felt) Mischa is equally amazing at both.

Okay, I thought you were saying she was just the new Cher, by the way you put it in the last post, but I am glad you can see they are TOTALLY different

When they did the competition to "WIN THE LIFESTYLE OF BRITNEY SPEARS!" I burst out laughing.

What originality did Janet bring-Ellie, Little Boots and Diana Vickers we have seen it all before. Quirky girl soft voice and nondescript tone to her singing.Mischa has nothing in common with Tina Turner other than they are both black women.Tina has a Rock/RnB voice and Mischa included a rap in a Soul song.Ms Dynamite is an MC/rapper not a soul singer.

I thought last night was a great episode. Much better than last week. They're really focusing on Kelly though aren't they? I can imagine her getting a bit annoying (for me) by the end of the season.

Jumping onto the Misha Vs Cher debate, for me Misha is the far better singer. You only need to hear her audition once to realise that. With Cher, it was all about the "rapping" as Cher was, in all fairness, very inconsistant when it came to singing.

However, with all these contestants who have a brilliant first audition it's interesting to see where they take it from here. Some of them peak at their first auditions and gradually get worse with each performance.

Misha is definitely my favourite so far this year. But I'm waiting until John Wilding from last year comes on, he was one of my faves last year and hoping he will get to the live finals this year!

Loved Mischa last night, and the Keys - Wow!

But Janet Devlin is still my fave, and there's another Irish star next week I think who I cannot wait to seee! :D

I've just caught up and K Ro had me in stiches. Dear god she's outstanding (strictly in the Sue Sylvester sense of the word).

She pulls some of the most brilliant faces. I'm also loving Tulisa still and Gary has grown on me quite a bit too.

I adored the final audition, she's certainly in the final. I don't see the 45 year old virgin making it though.

I missed the last show of X Factor....

Was there anybody note worthy?

Mischa, she was one of the best auditions I've ever seen! She sang Respect by Aretha Franklin and also rapped a bit. There was a good urban male group called The Keys who sang/rapper I Need A Dollar by Aloe Blacc. Definitely the two highlights for me.
Janet is still my fav   Mischa & Cher aint alike at all! I like Mischa :)

Yeah but Cher couldn't rap. [i say couldn't, but judging by 'Swagger Jagger', it's safe to say that she CAN'T]. This Misha girl was brilliant, she had a great natural tone to her voice and gave a natural delivery when doing her 'rap'.

HU CARES ANYWAY?

I loved Mischa's audition  - the only letdown was the rap thrown in. She can sing well, but I don't want her to be nu-Cher. :manson: At the start I was thinking 'not ANOTHER version of Respect' but she did it great :D

Mischa could never be the nu-Cher as she is a good rapper, Mischa takes after the only good rapper they have ever had on X-factor Graziella from Miss Frank.

Just started watching it [/late] that Derry geezer, if they throw him in a group, I will seriously be pissed off. We need our own Jason DeRulo/Ne-Yo/Usher! Who do the UK have? No ONE. :(
that Derry guy was on the front cover of the newspaper a few days ago apparently a thief so dont think hes in it anymore ??

Just watched the episode.

'The Keys' were good but the NAME? SO FUCKING DREADFUL.

Misha was fantastic. She did give a Nicki Minaj vibe too. Perhaps she's going to be the British jazzy Minaj? I hope she's going to the live shows.

Beginning to forget Cheryl, Dannii and Simon even existed, this lot are so much better!

This. Very much

They could have said 'no' more politely and perhaps refrained from sniggering.

Kath

The thing is that couple (especially Charity) looked like they were STONED singing it. It's incredibly hard not to snigger when you see a performance like that

Judges catergories OFFICIALLY revealed:

Gary Barlow, Kelly Rowland, Tulisa Contostavlos and Louis Walsh have been given their X Factor categories ahead of the Judges' Houses stage of the ITV1 reality show.

The judges have flown out with eight acts each and must pick their four favourites for the live rounds, which will kick off in the autumn.

Louis Walsh has missed out on the popular Boys and Girls categories for the seventh time, landing the Over 25s, who haven't had a winner since Steve Brookstein in series one.

Walsh has flown out to Barcelona, with Sinitta as his co-mentor, to try to find his first winning act since Shayne Ward in the second series.

Kelly Rowland has been given the Girls for her first series as a judge and will be hosting the acts at her 'home' in Miami.

Tulisa Contostavlos is tasked with finding the first ever Groups winner and will be hoping one of her acts can go one better than runners-up JLS and G4.

Gary Barlow is expected to team up with his Take That bandmate Robbie Williams in LA as he starts mentoring the Boys category.

The X Factor continues on ITV1 at 8pm every Saturday.

I think they're the same as the spoiler a few pages back, but now we know it's official!

I think

they're good choices - Tulisa could well help a group win, she knows how to make a good urban group having been in N-Dubz, rather than turn them all into Westlife-lite. Kelly will be able to mentor the girls well and choose non-cliche songs, Louis (bless him, with the Overs AGAIN) always does his best with what he's given, but I'm worried he'll let through another Wagner (ie that Asian woman I forgot the name of)... Gary with the Boys should be OK, as long as he doesn't go too cliche with songs, which he might do.
