June 4, 201114 yr Indeed. Wasn't there a song on that album with Sean Paul which would have been a FAR better choice, I don't remember what it was called. Break it off. It had a lot of airplay in some countries like mine, shame it wasn't a single.

Hardly the best on the album over We Ride though, imo. Sean Paul is just irritating in it. She had 3 other ballads in the form of Final Goodbye, P.S, and A Million Miles Away that would have been brilliant singles, the only thing is, coming right after Unfaithful, she needed an upbeat song, and the upbeat songs on A Girl Like Me, SOS aside, are pretty naff. All 3 non-single ballads are amazing.
June 4, 201114 yr When "Unfaithful" came out, what impressed me was that it was a song about a woman self-confessing her cheating. There are loads of songs of women singing about men cheaters but I've never knew one before about a woman singing about her infidelities. And afterwards, only Amy Winehouse's "You know I'm no good" approached that. Maybe the reason it sounds a little bit off to some, it's because it's a kind of song that would probably fit better in a more mature voice (like Mary J. Blige), but I still think Rihanna delivers it well enough. Edited June 4, 201114 yr by N-S

I absolutely love it although I don't think I fully appreciated it at the time. I now utterly adore My Love, What Goes Around Comes Around and Lovestoned but oddly can happily live without anything else he's ever recorded.
