June 10, 201114 yr Tbh if the demand is there, the release date doesn't matter. Example would be number one even if it was released on Wednesday. That said, everybody should at least consider releasing the songs (and albums too) digitally on Sunday. See it's funny cos I always assumed they did sell albums digitally on Sunday, and now they are all sold on a Monday and I just don't know why. I know some have done it in the past, I'm sure Lily Allen released her second album digitally on the Sunday?
June 10, 201114 yr Author I reckon Nicola will end up towards the bottom end of the top 30 by Sunday, probably around 25 to 28 mark.
June 10, 201114 yr Wonderland climbing in the albums up to 9! I think this will drop out the charts faster than Chipmunk though!
June 10, 201114 yr Can I ask does anyone know where Set Fire To The Rain is officially from yesterday? I know its top 40 only, probably not in top 40, but any guesses where it'd be, #42? #37 on iTunes now, would love it to sneak in to top 40 this week. Edited June 10, 201114 yr by Karma
June 10, 201114 yr Wonderland climbing in the albums up to 9! I think this will drop out the charts faster than Chipmunk though! To be fair, Wonderland are more of an album act than him. Although i'm shocked it a) not only managed a top ten position but B) kept it all week and c) even climbed! I think it'll be #11 on Sunday, though. :(
June 10, 201114 yr Hold on... if Paramore and Nicki are at 17 and 18, and presumably Dev is above them, could "Bass Down Low" go top 10 this week after all? :o Well, she looks like she's loterally just about to get in the top 10 on iTunes so if she gets a good top 10 effect I can definitely see her going T10. Although it might be just a bit too late in the week a la Save The World's first week. (Did that happen to Marmaduke Duke's Rubber Lover? I remember being seriously annoyed when that only ended up at #12 as it got to about #6 on iTunes. That was still one of the most unexpected hits I've seen since I started following the chart though, it didn't seem at all like the sort of song that could go to #12 and spend 4 weeks top 20. Would have been one of the best top 10 hits ever. Thankfully Simon did return to the top 10 twice more after that :kink: I wonder what happened to Marmaduke Duke anyway? I'm sure they were going to record a third album before disbanding but they've been gone a while now...) See it's funny cos I always assumed they did sell albums digitally on Sunday, and now they are all sold on a Monday and I just don't know why. I know some have done it in the past, I'm sure Lily Allen released her second album digitally on the Sunday? Inna also released her album on the Sunday. And yet it didn't go top 40 until Wednesday mids and has somehow been climbing throughout the week :o dropped to #20 A fifth week in the top 20 is still a really good showing for her though, especially as it looked like Amazing would be her last hit as Déjà Vu flopped and the less said about 10 Minutes the better... Maybe closer to #50. Although it'll safely make it in next week, surely. :)
June 10, 201114 yr Ok Eric thanks, theres still one day (all of saturday) to catch up and its now #35 on Itunes, would love to see it even just at #40 come Sunday! :D Next week definitely i'd say too now with airplay increasing. :D
