June 11, 201114 yr Rhydian goes pop!! Interesting, well await this one. I guess he wants to try something a bit different than his usual style.
June 11, 201114 yr A pop album from Rhydian is about as welcome as a fart in a spacesuit, let's be honest...... the original poster here is part of his 'online team'...... hmm..... he'll need more than a few messageboard hackers to sell any of this album, I reckon.....
June 11, 201114 yr Author A pop album from Rhydian is about as welcome as a fart in a spacesuit, let's be honest...... the original poster here is part of his 'online team'...... hmm..... he'll need more than a few messageboard hackers to sell any of this album, I reckon..... O,dear! Why being so mean? I just wanted to talk about Rhydian, who is one of the best singer our music scene has got. He comes out with pop, rock album and we shall see how it goes. Until now the critics are all favourable regarding the music and the interpretation, it's a new sound, so different from what we are listening through all day on the radio and it's welcoming to hear something else. The music critics are surprisingly giving very good output after listening to the music on it. :w00t: As soon as I get the single I'll post it here; hopefully you guys will love it! :cheer:
June 11, 201114 yr Take a look at the rock/metal/punk forums latest topic that has been posted in... It's a topic about an album called 'In Waves' by Trivium. Strange that his name practically rhymes with theirs and both of their album titles are practically the same... I'm not sure wether I believe this.

Great find, Juranamo! :) I think Rhydian has given the name of his next album 'WAVES' because the music on it has got inspiration from the New Wave Music of 80. I heard today the first time his single and it is really good; so different, yet so wonderful with a rhythm and the great melody at the same time. :yahoo:

O, dear, I am still not allowed to post the links, need 20 posts at least  OK, let's talk to me, guys, to get those 20 posts and than I can get the link in. :teresa:
June 12, 201114 yr Author Yay, here is the first press release about Rhydian's third album written by music critic Chris Hewlett - I am so happy :dancing:  -it's here. I can't post the link as I still hasn't reach 20 posts! :nono: 7 June 2011 New sound, new album Conehead are delighted to announce that they will release the new single ‘Parade’ and the album from which it is taken, ‘Waves’, from vocal powerhouse Rhydian on 18 July and 1 August 2011 [both produced by Greg Fitzgerald; Kylie – ‘Fever’]. Rhydian enjoyed massive success with his first two albums after becoming a true phenomenon on the X Factor, he has received Gold and Platinum sales discs, played arenas, sold out solo tours, anchored TV shows and performed at Galas and - on several occasions - for Royalty. Now in 2011, Rhydian has taken the opportunity to truly unleash his creativity and even to raise a few eyebrows, by releasing a collection of brand new interpretations of songs from the New Wave era. The unusual circumstances that brought about this new album seem to suggest that it is destined to succeed. Rhydian records all of his vocal exercises and lessons on cassette and, whilst looking for fresh supplies, found an old tape that had belonged to his brother. Before recording over it he decided on a whim to play it; the first track immediately struck a chord. That track turned out to be ‘Parade’ by White & Torch. “I had a moment of clarity and knew that this sound was perfect for me and my vocal style. People are always suggesting songs for me to perform, but I got straight on the phone to my label and told them that I wanted to go in this direction. Once we’d identified the track we decided to build the album around tracks by artists such as Black, Blancmange, When In Rome and The Mission. For the first single, I picked a track which I knew would be new to most people and yet really show the drama of the album and the direction we’re going in. ‘Parade’ fits the bill perfectly.” ‘Waves’ sees Rhydian shifting focus and harnessing the power and innate theatricality in his vocal delivery to perfectly complement this new suite of material. ‘Waves’ deploys the same sense of fun and drama that characterized the New Wave era whilst also showcasing Rhydian’s extraordinary baritone vocals and the phrasing that makes each song his. Ian McNabb of Icicle Works has commented, “He's a terrific singer and a proper pop star. He's kept it really up beat and poppy and it sounds like a hit all over again. By the way my mum loves you and hasn't been this excited for years. Power on”. Pat Gribben of The Adventures added, “When someone with a voice gifted from God and who could choose to record any sing picks out one of yours it’s the ultimate compliment. I’m chuffed to bits.” ‘Waves’ is a bold and confident album made by a performer at the top of his game. With massive success already achieved, Rhydian has chosen to take both control and the creative route. “I’m a singer, not a songwriter, and what I do is interpret and communicate songs that I love. This new album fits really well with the music that my fans know already and I think they are going to love this too :w00t: :cheer: :yahoo: :cheer: Edited June 12, 201114 yr by maydalena
June 12, 201114 yr Press releases are always going to be favourable, it's the whole point. I wasn't convinced by the clip but the whole song was played on Radio2 and I enjoyed it; the DJ liked it even though hilariously she got all confused afterwards and mixed him up with Rhydian Dafydd of Joy Formidable  Catchy, works for me. June 12, 201114 yr Author Did she really forget his family name? :o O, dear, that's a bit unpleasant, isn't? Thanks for posting the link to the full song - I am still in 'probation period' at BJ  and not being allowed to get any links in until I post at least 20 replies. I am trying my best! Edited June 12, 201114 yr by maydalena

June 14, 201114 yr Author It's $h!t. Sorry. That's fine; so what kind of a music do you like? :( I've always liked the singers with the voice, I mean those real singers who can get on the stage at any time and sing with their own voice with no help of the studio behind them. I hope you understand what I am talking about. I also like that kind of the music like Rhydian will be bringing with this album, a powerful, yet melodically rhythmic, emotionally charged music which we've have been missing last 20 years or so. Let us wait and see! :yahoo:
June 14, 201114 yr It's $h!t. Sorry. This tbh. I didn't like him singing opera, but he should have stuck to that - at least he was good at it!
June 15, 201114 yr Author This tbh. I didn't like him singing opera, but he should have stuck to that - at least he was good at it! O, I haven' t heard him singing opera; he was never an opera singer. From where did you get that? :o He has released two albums until now! The first one is already certified double platinum, it was a classical crossover mixed with pop songs album. The second album is a classical one, but there is no operas on it; the album has been nominated for the best classical album of the year. Very high quality , Rhydian sings the duets with the royalties of the classical music Dame Kiri Te Kanawa and Bryn Terfel on it; the album went straight to the golden certificate, which is for the classical album rather rare. Let us wait and see; until now the third album Waves have got some excellent inputs from many of the music critics who have heard it. Yes, I know from the listening to the small part of the song one can not objectively say if it's good or not; so, let us just wait and see! :)
June 15, 201114 yr Author http://www.moontripgraphics.com/rhydianheader.gif 'Rhydian’s first single ‘Parade’ will be released in mid-July and can already be heard on the radio. Roy White, of White and Torch – the original singers of the song – contacted us to say ‘Rhydian is a star – as stars should be. Parade is such a dramatic song it would take quite a singer to fill the original singer’s boots (That was me by the way, ha ha ha). Rhydian has done the job very nicely. Love it. I wish him all the luck in the universe.’ :w00t: :yahoo: :cheer:
