June 14, 201114 yr Author Where is Set Fire To The Rain that should be top 40 (at #33 on iTunes) hoping all 3 of Adele's releases will all be top 40 come sunday. :w00t: I don't want to rain on your parade, I wish you stop asking that, if the track was in the 40, I would have posted it in the update. I usually post all climbers in the update.
June 14, 201114 yr Yes I know Martin, if it was in top 40 it'd be there, but it was more of a wondering why its not in top 40 not where is it in the chart atm. :) Thanks though Martin, hopefully it'll be top 40 in the rest of the week updates :D Didnt realise you changed your name  Edited June 14, 201114 yr by Karma
June 14, 201114 yr Author Glee Cast update please :D 7+7 Vol 6, I've got to add the Glee Cast to the mini updates. And I just found out SKY1 have got the license to broadcast Glee from Season 3
June 14, 201114 yr I knew the EP sales would make the chart looks strange in the first update, nonetheless that is a FANTASTIC top 3!   alas, I can see Ed being around 4 on sunday though, his pre-orders were very strong and bound to give him a headstart with either Calvin or Example number 1 (if Calvin overtakes on itunes, this could be very interesting :o ) J-lo top 10 :o surely her boost can't have been that big! probably will drop off again Edited June 14, 201114 yr by Chart Wizard
June 14, 201114 yr great news to see Take That and Calvin Harris taking control of the charts for the UK again
June 14, 201114 yr I can't think of any other support act I've seen that's gone on to become so huge! Ellie Goulding Supported Little Boots and sales wise has done even better than Calvin.
June 14, 201114 yr Author Watch out for a sleeper track to hit the top 40 mid week from Bad Meets Evil feat Bruno Mars 'Lighters', its #48 on iTunes already, its this year's Love The Way You Lie :D I think its got #1 potential, funny enough I'll quite like it .
June 14, 201114 yr I'm not trusting any of those positions on the singles mids, there's definitely something missing (probably iTunes data as has already been mentioned). Albums are probably more accurate. Very surprised to see Adele ahead of AM to be honest, Arctics are still ahead on iTunes so I thought that was an indication they'd still be outselling her physically as well. 21 weeks at 2 or 1 for 21 :kink: Also didn't expect to see Black Country Communion, Bad Meets Evil or Nerina Pallot anywhere near the top 10 :o Although I suppose Bad Meets Evil's success can be explained by the fact Eminem is one half of BME and he always shifts tons of albums without fail, so top 10 even without promo isn't *that* surprising I guess... And also I think Black Country Communion's last album was top 10 on the first mids as well. But yeah, didn't really expect to see any of those 3 in the top 10. Edited June 14, 201114 yr by Bray
June 14, 201114 yr I'm always baffled when the public decides to get behind such a random song (and one as hideously bland as this one). If you're talking about The A Team, it's not exactly a 'random song'. Ed Sheeran has a lot of hype behind him and he's been growing in popularity for the last year plus. His 'No.5 Collaborations Project' EP got to #1 on iTunes Albums with absolutely no mainstream promotion at all. And it's not as if TAT was an 'unconventional' release, it had been receiving airplay for several weeks. Plus it's a really old song anyway so his core fanbase would have already been familiar with the song. Its success isn't really that 'baffling' at all. I dispute you calling it hideously bland but that's a matter of personal opinion :P (If you weren't talking about TAT in the first place, well, this was a waste of a post) Edited June 14, 201114 yr by Bray
June 14, 201114 yr A bit of a weird midweek update, I was not expecting the top 2 to be 1 - Calvin and 2 - Ed and Tinchy not charting. Anyway, great for Calvin but I think he'll fall down to 2 and Example will climb back up, Ed being 3 or 4.
June 14, 201114 yr Watch out for a sleeper track to hit the top 40 mid week from Bad Meets Evil feat Bruno Mars 'Lighters', its #48 on iTunes already, its this year's Love The Way You Lie :D I think its got #1 potential. Of course it has - it has r*p in it...
June 14, 201114 yr Wow, never expected to see a Tuesday report like this. Calvin Harris at #1, Ed Sheeran at #2 and Example pushed down to #3?! I expect it'll go Example-Harris-Sheeran come Sunday, but whatever happens within the top 3 will still leave me very satisfied - all three singles are extremely strong and deserving of credit. As for the Tuesday muck-ups, 'Awooga' will no doubt fall to the edge of the top 75, J-Lopez's 'On the Floor' will probably fall to the latter half of the top 20 and Tinchy & Dappy should appear within the top 5 - if they replace Scherzinger there'd be a British artist in each top 4. Take That's lead was unexpected, especially with the new additions to the album all doing so well individually on iTunes. A lead of 30k is actually quite impressive, although Adele still in the top 2 is a great feat by itself - nice to see the Arctics sticking around in the top 3 for another hopeful week though.
