June 17, 201114 yr I agree, it's a brilliant song, sure it takes a while to grow - just look at my chart run for it! Basing it on the first/second listen probably isn't the best thing to do with this song. Yeah, I first heard it much more than 2 weeks ago, but it was only 2 weeks ago I entered it at #29 on my chart and it's now up to #6. Massive grower.
June 17, 201114 yr Hearing this crap reminds me of being a 10 year old with too many 2p coins to waste; http://www.empireamusements.co.uk/pix2009-01/DSC_0203.jpg :D 'Oh My Darling Clementine' reminds me of that ride at Blackpool Pleasure Beach (don't know if you've ever been there) but they play a man singing this on a loop - iirc, the ride itself is called Gold Mine. It defines the word EPIC. See for yourself... :D KciE3C0AnWw
June 17, 201114 yr Author Yeah, I first heard it much more than 2 weeks ago, but it was only 2 weeks ago I entered it at #29 on my chart and it's now up to #6. Massive grower. Hopefully with this in mind it will be more than a one week wonder on the officials and hang around for a bit as new people start to hear it. That's assuming that Capital and the music channels pick it up of course... :D 'Oh My Darling Clementine' reminds me of that ride at Blackpool Pleasure Beach (don't know if you've ever been there) but they play a man singing this on a loop - iirc, the ride itself is called Gold Mine. It defines the word EPIC. See for yourself... :D KciE3C0AnWw I've not been but that certainly DOES look epic :heehee: I've never yet been to an amusement arcade (and I live in Brighton - I'm in them regularly!) where I haven't heard Oh My Darling Clementine piping through the speakers or out of one of the machines/rides! Cher's tapping into the 2p coin market, which figures!

June 17, 201114 yr This is a fantastic - and fantastically detailed - chart! Something to model my own after, I think. ;) Singles 4. Amazing chart run! 34. Radio Killer - Lonely Heart (27) (CR-59-40-27-34) I stalked the last BJSC and now the dust has settled, this is the one I've remained obsessed with. Surely the dance track of the year so far! 48. The Wanted - Glad You Came (48) (CR-73-54-48-48) Disturbed by how good this is. I have friends who used to work with the band, but I never liked their music, so I first heard this at the Summertime Ball last Sunday - shocked to be so impressed! (They're not even bad live, either.) 61. Chase & Status feat Tinie Tempah - Hitz (Re-entry) (CR-60-OUT-61) Good to see this back in, now it's a single I hope it'll soar up your chart. It was the song I really latched onto when I got the album, it's fantastic to strut to.

I don't care enough to listen to Bad Meets Evil's album but Lighters is a very good song! I don't have anything against Cher, she was one of the more interesting artists on X Factor last year, and this is an enjoyable enough debut - even if the sample is cheesy  Not heard that Skylar song yet, will search it out now! Ludovico is down to Greg James on Radio 1 I believe, I don't watch Britain's Got Talent either  Aww, I liked Andrea's last album - this is a covers album but they're not exactly covers of well known songs so it may as well be an original album - I like it! Popular's one of my favourite songs of the year although it's natural that it should start slipping now, Eurovision is long over! Glad You Came is decent, they've had a few middling hits in my chart but no real smash yet...I do like Hitz a lot, far better than Time - not sure if it's up there with End Credits and Blind Faith, those are big shoes to fill!
June 19, 201114 yr Ed Sheeran is from Suffolk?! That would explain why our HMV were stocking the 7" (only previously known of by Morrissey) as well as the CD single. :P
June 19, 201114 yr Author Ed Sheeran is from Suffolk?! That would explain why our HMV were stocking the 7" (only previously known of by Morrissey) as well as the CD single. :P Framlingham apparently, do you know it? Not many chart stars come from round your way usually do they!?! :o
June 20, 201114 yr Hey, some comments for you! 3. Chart Music - All My Life (NEW) (CR-3) Pretty good! I was surprised you went for it though considering the similarities between it and Thermostatic! 9. Wonderland - Why Here Why Now (13) (CR-13-9) I wasn't going to bother with this group, but then I listened to the previews of the album on Amazon and it sounded great! I got the album in the post today and can't wait to listen to it when I get a chance! 19. Miss 600 - Twist (NEW) (CR-19) Heard this the other day and really liked it! They seem a promising act 42. Martin Solveig feat Dragonette - Big In Japan (NEW) (CR-42) Not heard this yet, but it sounds interesting. I've been a fan of the previous Solveig/Dragonette collabs. Is this a cover of the Alphaville song? 48. The Wanted - Glad You Came (48) (CR-73-54-48-48) Heard this the other day. Very Romanian for a British act :heehee: 53. Caro Emerald - That Man (Re-entry) (CR-48-OUT-53) Is this the next single? I'm glad she's finally starting to take off here, if only Radio 1 would get on board! 62. Cher Lloyd - Swagger Jagger (NEW) (CR-62) Words fail me :P

Cher Lloyd - Swagger Jagger (NEW) (CR-62) Words fail me :P Thanks Ghosty! Haven't got round to commenting on the charts yet as I've been busy moving back home over the last couple of days :drama: 3. You're definitely right there, and I'd be pleased just to make the final with this. I'm not the sort of person who goes actively hunting for what I think will do well, I genuinely do send my 'favourite non-cheap song' each contest and this month it was this song that fit the criteria, it's a bit more subtle than most of my entries but I absolutely adore it, the bridge is especially great  I still love Driving, although if I was ranking my entries in terms of personal preference from 1st to 35th, it would probably be around 32nd - but I still adore all 35 songs! It 'only' peaked at #7 in my chart which isn't very high for my own BJSC entry. 9. Likewise, the two singles haven't interested me that much but I saw the album up for a cheap download and it surprised me, it appeals to both my MOR loving side and my girlband loving side - Why Here Why Now is especially great imo  19. I agree, I've written their album down on my list of things to buy  A nice sort of alternative to Caro Emerald. 42. No, it's not a cover of that interestingly :o It's almost exactly the same as Hello which means that it's good by default! 48. Yes indeed, it's basically Stereo Love boybanded up! At least somebody's copying that sound now and not the 'club banger' US sound... 53. Apparently so, which is a great choice imo. They're not going to and I've both accepted that to be the case and had come to terms with it long ago because I knew she'd instantly be a 'Radio 2 act' if she ever got attention in the UK. But I'm satisfied that she's got a top ten album to her name that's showing some longevity! Nicer for her to have a hit album than a hit single I should think. Hope she does a proper tour here, I can't manage to go to her sole date in London.

Driving is a big favourite of mine  09 - It came across as very Nordic-Eurovision (Tone Damli, Yohanna...) to me so it instantly struck a chord. I was expecting something really quite dull initially! 19 - I'll definitely try and get it if it's released physically! 42 - Hmm, can't say I was a massive fan of Hello, but I'll give it a listen sometime to see! 48 - Very true, that US sound is getting very tedious now. All those sort of songs are starting to merge into one for me :drama: . 53 - I might go if possible, but I'd like to see her do a few more dates here too.

I hope so, I've not listened to most of Semi 1 yet but oddly listened to most of Semi 2, which I'm not in  Yes I know, I discovered it from you - same with Kongulo and By My Side I think too - you weren't on the forum then though so you didn't notice :kink: 9. As if I'd be charting something dull in my top 2 albums/top ten singles! :P 19. I think it's download only from the small bit of research that I did into it, I guess they haven't got much money behind them, it's a wonder that they've been Radio 2 playlisted! 48. Completely agree, it'll surely die out soon?

When they first came out though, I just thought "Oh dear, not another girlband" and wasn't expecting them to actually be very good. Do you remember Bellefire? The Wonderland album is exactly how I expected their unreleased album to sound. 19 - It is a surprise! Hopefully this will mean a physical release is now being considered. 48 - I hope so! And I'm not sure how many more 90's classics being murdered I can take! I'm sure I heard something sampling Tina Cousins the other day :drama: :(

I'd actually rank Kongulo in my personal top ten entries but not many people 'got it' - their loss! 9. I should think so :P I know what you mean - I loved Bellefire, which is why I probably love this lot - they're essentially exactly the same - another slightly MOR pop Irish girl group managed by Louis Walsh! Perfect Bliss and All I Want Is You both made my top 5  19. It would be nice but I wouldn't hold your breath, it might get a belated physical release like Leddra Chapman did though! 48. Really? What Tina Cousins song? :o I know what you mean - there's even an awful one out that samples Return of the Mack! Of all of the songs to choose... :drama:

I remember being quite surprised at how well Caroline did actually! 09 - Oh right, I didn't realise Louis was involved with them, but it makes sense now! I really liked Say Something Anyway and Spin The Wheel! I was gutted when the album got shelved :( 19 - Hopefully! 48 - Pray I think. It may have just been a song that sounded incredibly similar though as Pray is such a random track to sample  . I quite liked Return Of The Mack, at the time, but I think it's pretty dire now  . There are some 90's tracks that I hope don't get touched though - if anyone samples Just A Little Bit or Sunshine After The Rain, I'll be absolutely mortified!

Likewise, you'd have thought that they'd both come in around 8th/9th but Hafdis came mid-table and Caroline somehow went top five! I guess everyone was in a power-schlager mood  9. I liked Spin The Wheel a lot as well. I didn't even know that they were supposed to have released an album until I Googled them a few weeks back! Interesting that one of the members of Wonderland is Jodie Marsh, who was in Girl Thing over a decade ago! Will she ever grow out of wanting to be in a girlband!!! 48. How bizarre :o Indeed, it's quite a cringeworthy song. Yep definitely, defacing Gina G would be the ultimate insult! I think I'd throw myself off a cliff if anyone put some generic rap over the top of Set You Free :drama:
