Does anyone care about Phil's stalker? Anyone? Because it's such a boring way to try to breathe life into Phil - who as much as I like him, has been long past it in terms of his usefulness as a character - that I really couldn't give a flying wotsit who it is.

Yeah I'm over that story. It had potential to begin with but the problem is Phil is so unsympathetic nowadays that you're kind of the side of the stalker.

That's exactly it. Playing the "who's-the-evil-stalker" card doesn't work when the stalker hasn't behaved HALF as badly as Phil himself as. If it does turn out to be someone like

Denise or Heather

, who is going to take realistically take Phil's side?

Festive times!

New Year's Day.

I wish it was better at the minute. Emmerdale is routinely blowing it out of the water in the drama stakes. Ian and Mandy's wedding felt like a filler plot rather than the peak of a big storyline with any kind of community feel, they didn't even get the duff duff.

I also think a big problem with this Yusef plot has been that *nobody* from outside the family has been involved at any point. It's just the same characters sharing scenes over and over again, it's tiring.

The one awful thing about the plot with Yusef is that you cannot feel sorry for Zainab, after Afia told her what he did to her...
Same! I was crying with laughter when she walked in during Tiffany's performed and exclaimed "IT'S CHRISTMAS!". The preview clip of her meeting Fatboy tonight looks hilarious too :D

That was a better episode tonight. The Bianca scenes were really amazing.

There was nothing amazing about them as far as I'm concerned... they were okay. I feel like I didn't need Bianca back, much less Ricky.

The Masood/Denise and Yusef/Zainab scenes were great though and FINALLY this storyline is stepping up a gear.

I think slight exaggeration on my part  It wasn't amazing but I didn't feel that it was too bad :D The Masoods/Khans was really good though. Can't wait for extra editions this weekend :D

I would love Phil's stalker to be GLENDA. Alas, she's not coming back.
Can't wait for tomorrow, Eastenders is pretty much on all week next week and next weekend, its got a good 10 day run

So what did we think of tonight's then? I'm so happy that the characters involved in the Yusef saga are finally being written like people who have a brain and possess the ability to think using logic and common sense! It was a great episode, not too miserable but still plenty of high drama. Denise was also quite FABULOUS.

So who didn't know for the last 2 months that the stalker was Ben?
