Glee creator Ryan Murphy is staying true to his word to offer up more back stories about his supporting characters.

 

Exhibit A: We’re about to meet the parents of Mike Chang!

 

EW has learned exclusively that Tamlyn Tomita (The Joy Luck Club) and Keong Sim (The Last Airbender) will play mom and pop to Mike, played by Harry Shum Jr. The duo will appear in the third episode of the season, which airs Oct. 4.

 

Last month, Murphy told reporters that he wants to put the spotlight on other members of the cast this season. “I think one of the things that we’re doing for season three is servicing more of the kids,” Murphy said. “I don’t think there’s been enough Amber. I don’t think here’s been enough Jenna or Harry …It’s hard on me because I love all those actors and they’re so talented and I feel an obligation to showcase their talent, and this year I think we’re going to do that a little better.”

 

Glee returns Sept. 20 on Fox.

Question: Do you have any hints on what’s to come on the new season of Glee, especially for Santana and Brittany, separately or together? —Ghislaine

Ausiello: The word around McKinley is that Brittany will make a serious run for class president. And in potentially related news, I hear there’s an intriguing/hilarious story behind this photo, and we’ll find out what it is in Episode 2.

Sources confirm to TVLine exclusively that Ashley Fink’s screen time will be drastically reduced following the Sept. 20 season premiere, which finds her recurring (and somewhat polarizing) character, Lauren Zizes, abruptly [MAJOR SPOILER ALERT]quitting New Directions and breaking up with her steady beau Puck (Mark Saling), who spent much of Season 2 wooing the demanding, plus-sized tough girl.

I already love their performance of 'Run the World (Girls)' without even seeing/hearing it! :wub: Heather on vocals will be amazing!

Bit sad at the loss of Lauren, I was hoping for an upgrade to the main cast a few months back. Sam I can deal with but she was absurdly fabulous frankly.

Meet the Pillsburys! BuddyTV is reporting that Don Most (Happy Days) and Valerie Mahaffey (Desperate Housewives; Raising Hope) have been cast as Emma’s parents for season 3.

Question: Will Quinn be meeting her daughter soon on Glee? —Cindy

Ausiello: Considering the fact that Idina Menzel (a.k.a. the kid's adoptive mother, Shelby) is returning for a major arc, I think it's probably a safe bet that Quinn (and possibly baby daddy Puck) will cross paths with their daughter at some point. But the $1 million dollar question is whether the inevitable reunion will awaken any maternal feelings in the teen mom. If the buzz I heard at Sunday's Emmys is to be believed, it will. And my guess is that can only mean one thing: Quinn's going to want her baby back baby back baby back.

 

Question: Any scoop about Glee's Karofsky? —Dalanda

Ausiello: He's baaaaaack! Or at least he will be come late October, when Kurt has a very awkward run-in with him at a [spoiler ALERT] gay bar.

Very excited about the Quinn/Shelby storyline, and how it will all play out.

 

I hope 'late October' is correct because I'd heard that there was going to be a month hiatus after episode 3 due to baseball/The X Factor, which could've put the next episode during the first week of November.
