How can I see the popularity bars in iTunes 9 & 10?

 

Use this link: http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore...aultSeeAllSongs

 

Then select 'View' and tick 'popularity', alternatively, in the headings bar (Artist, Album, Time, etc), right click and select 'popularity'

Unless Adele [sFTTR] keeps climbing, it won't have sold enough to climb into the top 20 - meaning the Saturdays are likely to return to the top 20 this week. Adele was #23 on Sunday and still at #23 on Wednesday, so I reckon if it lingers around the 18-22 spot for the rest of the week, it'll climb a place or two.

 

As for SoundGirl and Parade, the latter are appearing on the Chart Show on Sunday - would be a shame if they came all the way just to find out they didn't even make top 40. They must be receiving strong sales from elsewhere, I've not seen them crack the top 40 on iTunes once, yet were at #29 as of Wednesday on the official chart. I reckon they'll just scrape top 40, with SoundGirl at #43 and Hard-Fi at #45.

Gold Dust seems to be returning in anticipation for Louder :o Either that or it's being used somewhere :P It's been close to the official top 100 for a few weeks now

 

Take Off could easily outpeak In The Air if it keeps climbing as it is.

Oh, just heard it now and I loved it. It's very indie to be UK top 40 though.

What's BJSC?

 

Bombay Bicycle Club top 40 - are you kidding me?! Their highest charting single to date is 'Ivy & Gold' which peaked at #56 last year and that was with plenty of support from R1 - so I'm shocked this is doing so well upon a days release.

 

Am hoping it sticks around long enough to debut within the top 75 this week and climb to a higher peak that [i&G] next week - it'd be nice to see the progress and popularity the band has gained with each lead single from the albums.

OA/OS releases from indie/rock bands often seem to get much higher than you'd expect - Enter Shikari went top 40 on iTunes with 'Destabilise' and top 60 with 'Quelle Surprise', The Blackout went top 100 on iTunes with 'Higher And Higher', The Cribs went top 40 on iTunes with 'Housewife', Bring Me The Horizon went top 60 (I think?) on iTunes with 'It Never Ends' and so on. They very rarely hold up though. Hopefully BBC can be an exception to that...

BJSC is the BuzzJack Song Contest. It's basically a Eurovision-style contest on BJ where you vote for other 'countries'' songs. It's quite fun - if you want to have a go at it you can visit the forum here (although you need to wait until your account is 6 months old due to alias rules unfortunately) :kink: [/bJSCpromotion]

 

I personally didn't like Ivy & Gold as much as anything from IHTBBISTL. Shuffle on first listen sounded like a bit of a return to form but as I said I wasn't really listening to it properly, it came on Radio 1 at like a quarter past midnight :lol:

It's the 'BJSC' effect. Slightly smaller than the 'Loose Women' and 'Alan Titchmarsh' effect, but better than the 'Midweek National Lottery Balls' effect.

I can't believe Till I'm Gone isn't higher. It was released a few days ago, and it's still not top 100. It even got top 100 in the US, although it seems the US is more tolerant to British music than the UK is.

 

Calle Ocho by Pitbull almost back in the top 100!! :o
