It's amazing what affect reducing songs to 59p has and again makes me wonder why so many people use iTunes, on Amazon you can buy 5 tracks for £3.50 (65p each) where you have a virtually unlimited choice of what songs you want, not iTunes limited choice.

On iTunes the 59p songs are also advertized on the front page, I believe. So it's also a bit like the top 10 effect. If they decreased a random old song to 59p, and told nobody about it, I doubt they'd climb like this.

I heard Call Your Girlfriend on Radio 1 about 20 minutes ago actually. The presenter (I think it was Scott Mills) said the song is released in August, so that's not going to help if they keep saying that. Also, the song sounds like Don't Hold Your Breath to me (although when Don't Hold Your Breath came out I said it sounded like Robyn so...).

Seriously, stop replacing the 's' with a 'z' on words which aren't even spelled that way in US English  I can understand you 'Americanizing' words that the Americans are too stupid to spell properly, but seriously, 'advertised' and 'wise' are not spelled with a 'z' ANYWHERE.

Here's hoping Call Your Girlfriend gets at least Top 40. Scott Mills seems to be all over it, I've heard it a few times on Ready For The Weekend/Floorfillers over the past few weeks. Robyn is so underrated here in the UK.

Pre Orders

Cher Lloyd - Swagger Jagger #26 :o (July 31st)

The Wanted - Glad You Came #23 (July 10th)

I think it will do well. It's the sort of thing the UK likes at the moment, it's not a bad song, and it's got radio backing it.

I wouldn't say Robyn is underrated though. Everybody seems to love her, and it was only a year ago that I was tearing my hair out at having to hear Dancing On My Own every hour on Galaxy.

Cher Lloyd is actually doing amazing. The video hasn't even been out a week and it's already doing this well, and only on pre-orders.

I think it's fair to say Britney will most likely not go top 100 with "I Wanna Go" :(

Well, considering it was like 150 yesterday, it's would be pretty good to have it back in the "official top75" at least. And actually it could get quite close to its original peak, ie a second life. ^_^

Up to #71.

I checked on it yesterday morning, before it was reduced, and it was at #105. Also, if it gets close to its original peak, it will NOT be because its 59p, as the boost hasn't been that large, it will be from promotion (Paul O'Grady, Daybreak, T4 on the Beach ect.) and the physical copy sales, so this 'second life' won't be because of it being 59p. It has helped, sure, but not given it a second life.

Really? I would be very lucky down here to be hearing Dancing On My Own on the Radio, heard it on Radio 1 a few times, and Kiss played it for a week or too, then started playing a mashup of it with Whitney Huston's I Wanna Dance With Somebody  here's a similar version of it

As to everyone loves Robyn, it seems that way, she's a very critically acclaimed artist with top reviews, but all her recent singles (apart from DOMO) and indeed the Body Talk albums all flopped, maybe it's more of a promotional issue, she needs to be in the UK promoting her singles/albums to gain better chart performance and good sales.

It was just on Galaxy, like before it merged with Capital that I was hearing Dancing On My Own non-stop, to be fair. I remember that time of year was really bad with Galaxy overplaying random songs actually. There were a few others, like The Way Love Goes by Lemar, On a Mission by Gabriella Cilmi, Hot by Inna, amongst others. Like the station would just get absolutely fixated with certain songs for a couple of months, and it was really, really annoying, especially since I didn't like most of the songs in question anyway. I thought Galaxy was good overall in terms of variety, especially with what they played on Friday and Saturday nights. But those random songs they got obsessed with, I just couple stand them. There were a few others later in the year aswell, like 2012 by Jay Sean and Happiness by Alexis Jordan, but it never got as bad as before.

I agree, Robyn's chart sucess has been poor last era tbh. But in general life, I don't think I've ever heard a bad word said about her. Only positive things, so I wouldn't say she's underrated in that respect.

Am I the only person who doesn't like How We Roll ?

If you read a few pages back in the thread you'll find that infact literally nobody who posts on this forum likes the song.

Today's top 100 update.

A massive fourteen new entries today! The highest is the Moto Blanco Edit of Adele - Set Fire To The Rain at #49. The other 13 are all older songs which make their first top 100 appearance since 29/05/2011 due to being reduced to 59p on iTunes. They come from The Kooks, Snoop Dogg feat. Pharrell, Professor Green feat. Maverick Sabre, Pulp, The Killers, The Jam, Run-D.M.C., The Cranberries, Dusty Springfield, Florence + The Machine, Jimmy Eat World, DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince and The Kooks again. Respectively those songs are Naïve (#62), Drop It Like It's Hot (#68), Jungle (#75), Common People (#76), Somebody Told Me (#79), Town Called Malice (#80), It's Tricky (#81), Zombie (#85), Son Of A Preacher Man (#86), Dog Days Are Over (#89), The Middle (#90), Summertime (#95) and She Moves In Her Own Way (#100). And then there are six MORE 59p songs entering the top 100 as re-entries - Evanescence - Bring Me To Life (#41), Beyoncé - If I Were A Boy (#53), Biffy Clyro - Many Of Horror (#56), Coldplay - The Scientist (#59), Olly Murs - Busy (#65) and Nicola Roberts - Beat Of My Drum (#67). Birdy also re-enters at #70 with 'Shelter' for unrelated reasons. So that means a whole 21% of the top 100 are entering today! Seriously? I listened to it for the first time today, and IMO, it's one of the better examples of its genre I've heard so far this year. Stuttering was quite average, but this sounds fairly nice.

I think it's okay too. Not amazing, but it's fine. But most people on here full on hate it. Some people were even saying it's as bad as Taio Cruz! :o :(

I'm assuming that's Break Your Heart-Taio Cruz, not early-Taio Cruz or Dynamite-Taio Cruz. At least I hope so. Break Your Heart is the only one of his I dislike.
