If Adele gets nominated at the Mercury Music Prize 2011, maybe 'SFTTR' will be performed at the ceremony. That could help boost sales for the single at least.

Surely it's sold far too much for the Mercuries to even consider nominating her? Besides, the Mercuries aren't for a couple more months anyway. (Unless they're earlier this year)

I'm sure she'll clean up at the BRITs next year, she'll easily win best song, best album and best British female I reckon. Unless the BRITs feel like awarding that last one to some relative unknown again. Maybe she'll be given another performance slot then?

I have a gut feeling Best Female will be given to Rumer next year. Other than that I agree 100% with you.

It's so pleasing to see 'Champagne Showers' flopping.

I hope it never makes the official top 40. It's been top 40 on iTunes almost constantly for three and a half weeks now but is yet to even show up on one mid! It's absolutely terrible.

Yeah, it could well go to Rumer. That's why I said 'unless they feel like giving it to some relative unknown again' :kink:

Although wasn't Rumer nominated for British Female last year?

...and for that we should be thankful. :P

What I meant was it's one of the big hits from 2010 that people are most likely still going to hear in 10 years time. I'm sure people have already forgotton such #1 gems as 'Dirtee Disco' and 'Gettin' Over You' in comparison. The latter two were very much of their time in the chart but haven't had strong selling power to keep them top 200 in iTunes since release. 'LTWYL' is still selling well on iTunes after almost a year.

I actually forgot about Dirtee Disco before 2010 had even ended! :o

I remember doing a game on another forum where we basically scored all the #1s of the year up to that point out of 10. The game itself was rather pointless, because there were a lot of people voting who generally just hated all popular music, and then there were a bunch of people giving Bad Romance and Telephone 10s and then everything else 0.

But anyway, Dirtee Disco was left off the list, and it was about 4 pages into the thread when someone was like "Hey, didn't Dirtee Disco get to #1". And this was only a matter of months after it had got there too!

It's a shame. I think it's poor for a Dizzee Rascal song, but I don't think it's particularly dreadful.

Champagne Showers >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>......>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Party Rock Anthem. Champagne Showers isn't exactly amazing, but PRA is the worst song of the year so far imo!

And Rumer was nominated in 2010, I don't see how she win the award for 2012 if she releases nothing but a couple of mega flop singles and the album was the year before the period she's nominated for. I actually love Laura Marling, so I was glad she won but she was a baffling winner...

Rumer was last year wasn't she? unless she has a new album coming out this year

Doesn't anyone who is nominated for the BRITS have to released an album in the last year? So Rumer would be illegible for next years BRITS unless she releases a new album this year.

Yeah, I think they do actually - e.g. Leona couldn't be nominated for the awards this year as Echo was released in 2009.

Jesus the charts are boring recently.

I can't wait for Alexandra to premiere her new single this month. Hopefully that will spice up the charts a bit. Kelly and Leona are yet to come too.

Actually, this fall seems to be very similar to late 2009 with the Sugababes, Pixie Lott, Leona, Alexandra, Jay-Z/Kanye/R&B female etc.

Chasing Pavements 9/10

Hometown Glory 8.5/10

Cold Shoulder 7.5/10

Make You Feel My Love 7/10

Rolling In The Deep 10/10

Someone Like You 9.5/10

Set Fire To The Rain 10/10

Thats probably the exact same rating i'd give Bre! Except for Hometown Glory that'll be a 10 for me too, absolutely love it! (oh and Cold Shoulder about a 6 i'd say never got in to that song)

SFTTR NOT TOP 10 ! I thought it would be by time i was home, thats really annoying, its back at #11 on my feed though.

Anyone have percentage figures?

Also didnt realise Chris & Justin were so high, #18! Thats climbing well!

and Spaceship  #36 with A-Team #3 and Bounce #7 :o wow.

Except they probably won't do very well.

It's quite 2009 even now though, with Tinchy Stryder/Dappy, Pitbull, Nicole Scherzinger, David Guetta, Calvin Harris.

I'm quite excited for the future too. :D But probably for different reasons to you. There's new material from Jay-Z/Kanye West, Dr. Dre, 50 Cent, D12, etc. that should be released this year. But they'll probably flop too. :(

Chasing Pavements 7/10

Hometown Glory 6/10

Cold Shoulder ??/10 > have never heard this

Make You Feel My Love 4.5/10

Rolling In The Deep 8.8/10

Someone Like You 7.5/10

Set Fire To The Rain 7.4/10

Jumping on the bandwagon :kink:

I'd say:

Chasing Pavements - 9/10

Hometown Glory - 10/10

Cold Shoulder - 10/10

Make You Feel My Love - 8.5/10

Rolling In The Deep - 10/10

Someone Like You - 10/10

Set Fire To The Rain - 9.5/10

Took you guys a while to bandwagon :P

Daniel, I know it's pretty much her only single that never gets played any more, but how can you have not heard Cold Shoulder? :o I heard it all the time at the time of its release and I didn't even listen to the radio that often back then!

Edited by Bré

To be fair, whilst I did hear Cold Shoulder a lot at the time, I never heard Make You Feel My Love until 2010 (although I'd heard other versions of the song before then obviously ).

Yeah Bre i was out and only just saw it so thought i'd put mine, and now more people have seen i guess.

Daniel so stingy '8.8' '7.4' :heehee: Round it up at least! :P

Chasing Pavements - 7/10

Cold Shoulder - 6/10

Hometown Glory - 7/10

Make You Feel My Love - 6/10 (got bloody sick of this)

Rolling In The Deep - 3/10

Someone Like You - 7/10 (would be higher, but got killed by overplay)

Set Fire To The Rain - 9/10 (really liking this atm)

so yeah, bar Rolling In The Deep, she's a good artist, her songs really do get killed by overplay though :(

Alexandra will certainly do well. If she can send a turd to #1 like SWY, she will be able to send a Rico Love-produced likely smash to #1 too.

Kelly is a bit of a loose cannon. She's not exactly consistent with her UK chart positions. Although she does seem to like the low top 10 positions. I think she'll go to #6 with 'Let Me Down' (if it is indeed the single).

I'm also sure Leona will be hugely successful and that is not me being an absolute stan (well, partially :kink:). Radio will still jump on her (even Radio 1), music channels will still play her, she'll still get promo slots and her material is looking to be phenomenal from what I've heard.

Chart Wizard

Rolling In The Deep - 3/10

I genuinely believe that is crazy to give RITD a THREE. IMO ofcourse. :P

I will accept nothing other than top 3 for Let Me Down tbh, it's INCREDIBLE and should be a multi-week number 1 -_-
