Like others, I also predicted 'Louder' to be huge and it certainly looks like it is heading for massive first week sales. With all 4 versions combind, DJ Fresh could actually be a lot closer to #1 - maybe 'Louder' is #1 combined?

What do people reckon 'Louder' will sell in its first week? I think it has a big chance of overtaking Bruno Mars and having the biggest first week sales of the year. The addition of actual sunshine is a bonus as this is probably my summer anthem. :D

On a seperate note, can anyone else hear the resemblance to 'Everybody's Free (To Feel Good)' by Rozalla in parts of the song?

I hope it beats Bruno but only so the highest first week sales of the year are for an actually decent song (and he's British which is a bonus I guess). It certainly doesn't deserve to open on 150k+ IMO.

 3. Louder (Radio Edit) - DJ Fresh

 16. How We Roll (feat. Tanya Lacey) - Loick Essien

 44. Louder (Club Mix) - DJ Fresh

 97. Freedom for Palestine - OneWorld

LPB hasn't updated but it currently has Beyoncé at 0.82 at #3 - based on that DJ Fresh should easily be #1 by 2pm at the latest.

How We Roll looks likely to go top 10. On the upside, that'll mean alongside DJ Fresh, Example, Calvin Harris and Ed Sheeran the top 10 will be half British. On the downside, it's crap and absolutely should not be top 10. You win some, you lose some. :(

Glad Loick isn't looking like it will do a Nicola and will at least go top 10 :w00t:

I don't think Fresh will do a 150k+, as the singles sales are relatively low at the moment and it's quite easy to overtake everything in the chart. However, I'd love him to do it.

So much for low top 40, Bray. :kink:

TBF it's been released one week later than planned - I might have been right if it was released last week. Therefore, I get away with that one :kink:

I've been proven pretty conclusively wrong on Louder though.

Let's have a look at DJ Fresh's chart history:

2003 58 Signal

2003 60 Dalicks

2004 73 Submarines

2004 74 Colossus

2004 68 When The Sun Goes Down (feat. Adam F)

2004 70 Twister*

2005 59 Supernature (Baron vs. DJ Fresh)

2005 60 Tarantula (Pendulum feat. DJ Fresh, $pyda and Tenor Fly)

2010 24 Gold Dust (feat. Ce'cile)

2010 98 Lassitude (DJ Fresh and Sigma)

2011 01 Louder (feat. Sian Evans)

Weird. I bet no one thought in 2006-9 after his string of flops and subsequent disappearance he'd end up getting such a massive hit.

*Polyhex credits this as 'Capture The Flag' for some reason. It's a double A-Side of Twister and Capture The Flag but for consistency purposes I only ever use the first A-Side which in this case is Twister.

Well. He's #1. (And #42, #167 and #197).

I doubt most people cared enough about him/had even heard of him to even spare a thought considering it

Anyway, this is the most completely obvious #1 in a while - will be interesting to see how much it can sell this week.

You have a point there - the last really obvious #1 was Grenade :o

We R Who We R - this was a bit obvious I guess but still some doubt

Price Tag - not *that* many people thought this would be #1 at all, let alone in its first week

Someone Like You - people thought it'd miss #1 in its first week then miss it again in its second week as the BRITs effect wore off

Don't Hold Your Breath - it's fair to say no one expected #1 for this

On The Floor - JLo had been gone for ages so people didn't think she had it in her any more, but this became her biggest hit :o

Party Rock Anthem - not many people expected this to take off in such a big way

Give Me Everything - not that obvious after Hey Baby flopped

Changed The Way You Kiss Me - same as WRWWR

Don't Wanna Go Home - had practically no airplay or hype but still somehow got #1

Changed The Way You Kiss Me was a pretty obvious number one, that wasn't too long ago

I would say that Changed The Way You Kiss Me was as obvious as Louder.

For me I'd say Price Tag, On The Floor and Changed The Way You Kissed Me were all most definitely obvious #1s.

I personally wasn't certain CTWYKM would be #1 until it was actually released and started climbing really quickly.
I think that 'Changed The Way You Kiss Me', 'On The Floor', 'Grenade' and 'Louder' have been the only obvious #1's this year.

Yeah the list you put out Bre was what you thought, i'd say a few of those were quite obvious #1s myself, as is Louder.

On The Floor & Changed The Way You Kissed Me were obvious #1s, and i'd say Someone Like You, I ALWAYS knew it'd make #1.

Of all the #1 singles this year the tracks have surprised me the most are:

Ke$ha 'We R Who We R' - Released about three months after every other country it seemed so I'd have expected it to bomb due to people already becoming bored of the song by the time it was finally released here.

Nicole Scherzinger 'Don't Hold Your Breath' - After poison peaked at #3 with an X Factor performance to 18 million viewers, I'm surprised promoting on shows like Loose Women and This Morning helped boost her singles sales. I imagined this to peak lower than 'Poison' so this was a surprise chart topper.

LMFAO 'Party Rock Anthem' - Didn't expect this to be #1 yet alone spend 4 weeks there. This track clearly benefitted the most from the music video. Without it, it would've sold nowhere near as much as it has (yes, that can be said for most singles but this is an obvious contender).

Adele 'Someone Like You' - Well and truly deserved though but after 'Rolling In The Deep' has just peaked at #2, who'd have thought The Brit Awards effect would be so massive. It even persuaded me to buy the album - it was just one of those bizarre magical moments that you rarely get on TV.

'Grenade', 'Price Tag', 'On The Floor', 'Changed The Way You Kiss Me', 'Don't Wanna Go Home' ( -_- ) and 'Louder' all seemed like obvious chart toppers to me from the first time I heard them.

I don't think 'On the Floor' was obvious at all. I think people just say that because, in hindsight, it was huge.

'Louder', 'Grenade' and 'Changed The Way You Kiss Me' were the only real obvious number ones. I think there was even doubt over SLY before the BRITs performance.

I'm interested to see the first week sales of 'Swagger Jagger' next month. :D I think they'll be the biggest so far this year. I think 'Louder' will do 165k in its first week. SJ will probably do close to 200k.

On The Floor may have been obvious close to its release, but from the viewpoint of when it first appeared on the web it wasn't obvious at all.

At least "Louder" getting to #1 would be something decent as opposed to that tosser Jason Derulo's feeble attempt to make a song.

What does "roll" mean? We've had "Roll Up" and "How We Roll". Is this street slang?

Britney needs a top 5 desperatly. Makes me mad that slag Lady Gaga keeps getting hits.

It means different things in different contexts. In Roll Up alone, if you listen to the lyrics, two different meanings can fit in the context. One is Wiz "rolling up" in his car to pick the girl up for a date. The other is how "rolling up" refers to a method of preparing weed to smoke, which a lot of guys do before dates (and is the more likely interpretation of the two given that's its Wiz Khalifa who wrote these lyrics ).

I agree that On the Floor was an obvious #1. At least from a couple of weeks before I was almost certain it'd get there. Although I wouldn't have expected it when I first heard the song.

Personally, I also felt that Grenade and We R Who We R were obvious #1s. I felt Party Rock Anthem and Give Me Everything were very surprising #1s to me (before they were released of course). I think in the Give Me Everything thread I said something like "I hope it can get top 40".
