Exagerating, much?

No, not at all. If I could see any appeal in either of them I wouldn't have made a post saying I can't see any appeal in them.

You always seem so full of yourself when anyone dares to say something to you in the Itunes thread.

Yes, I think it's exageration when you say you can't even understand how anyone can even "stand hearing the song". I mean ... really ...

You need to update your sig! Not quite so much dancing for her to do now.

Agreed... but back on topic, glad to see Nicola having a little boost :)

I don't see how I'm being 'full of myself' just because I disagree with what you said to me? I wasn't exaggerating at all so it was incorrect of you to say I was. I am wrong about things quite often but I can't be wrong about my own opinion and my opinion is that POM/GM have no redeeming features at all which is something I can't say about most songs I dislike. :P

Oh yeah, thanks. Updated :D

I love Piece of Me tbh. The beat, the vocals. Everything. PERFECT!

It's actually the only Britney songs I've on on my mp3 player at the moment, I think! :o

One Day Like This up to #52.

Someone Like You up to #25.

Britney isn't doing so well here at the moment because of one thing. PROMOTION. Her label can't expect her to keep selling from name alone! She needs to get her ass over here and PROMOTE! Beyoyo and GaGa did it, why can't she?!
Yeah, Britney really does need to promote. Has she been in the UK at all in the Femme Fatale era?

I don't think she even needs to promote. Obviously it would help loads, but even with just radio airplay those songs would've been so much bigger. I'd even say radio airplay is more important than her doing TV interviews. Look how big Just the Way You Are has been, for example.

Nope. I think there was one 5 minute phone call to Capital Radio or something, but it was cut short because of her label. (GRRR!) But that's it. She's coming over for her tour in October-ish. Hopefully they'll get a couple of promotional shows for her then! Some promo's better than none, right? :(

Oh yes and Radio airplay! I'm really, genuinely shocked Capital don't support her as much as they should. I thought she'd be right up their street. The ignorance of 'Till the World Ends' and 'I Wanna Go' is baffling tbh.
I think Britney's popularity has waned a little bit here in the UK, I guess you could say she's 'peaked' in terms of commercial success, I'm not surprised this single's struggling atm, although I think promotion and better management would obviously help, like she could've released the video to HIAM earlier but waited too long and by then everyone had stopped caring

I've seen I Wanna Go's video quite a lot actually (which makes it odd that it's flopping so badly!), but I've barely heard HIAM and TTWE outside of the chart show on radio or TV.

I hope IWG can at least go top 40, as I said I far prefer it to HIAM and TTWE. Should have been the first single I think.

I'm not really shocked. To be fair, they did play Till the World Ends a bit during the night.

But Capital is supposed to play "all the hits", and Till the World Ends hasn't really been one. And if an artist starts to stop getting hits, Capital usually stops playing their future songs too. People claim "Oh, they'll play Rihanna no matter what", but honestly, they genuinely will stop playing her if a few of her singles flop. Although these same people also claim Capital won't touch indie music and rock music, and now they're playing Coldplay and Ed Sheeran, so...

But TTWE and I Wanna Go are very chart friendly, and since chart friendly=Capital friendly, I see where you're coming from. They definitely would've been hits if Radio 1 played them, or if, as you said, Britney did some promotion in the UK. :(

It was really annoying aswell, because the other week Capital were giving out tickets to some Britney concert or something, and I just sat there thinking "Well, why don't you play her songs then?" And on Radio 1 aswell, they used to play Till the World Ends as the background music to Newsbeat sometimes. And again, I found myself thinking "It would be nice to hear the song, in full outside of Newsbeat".

It's kind of sad really. :( But her success in the US means she's still big enough to do another era after this.

Stations like Capital are bad for the chart IMO. To be played by Capital you need to first become successful, but to become successful you need airplay and Capital airplay helps a lot... it's a bit of a catch-22 situation if I'm using that term correctly? And it's just making it harder for new artists to break through, whereas for example Radio 1 gives loads of new acts a chance at getting airplay.

Yeah, that's true. I think the problem is partly to do with the general public though. I mean, it's literally pressing a button to choose between Capital and Radio 1. Why do some people choose to listen to Capital over Radio 1? Obviously each person has their different reasons. I listen to both a lot, so I can see why a lot of people prefer Capital to Radio 1.

I think one thing Radio 1 could do to get more viewers from Capital is to play music more constantly. Sometimes I listen to Chris Moyles's program in the morning, and I swear there've been times where he's gone over 20 minutes without playing a song. When I want to listen to music, I could go to a commercial radio station where they've played 6 songs in that time period.

Morning radio and the foolery it produces should be avoided like the plague.

The thing is Britney technically hasn't flopped (album sales, yeah). But both singles were put OA/OS here, which in most cases is proving to be unbenefitical.

The irony of "Piece Of Me" being successful was that she was hospitalised the week it peaked. The funniest thing I saw was the video of her being taken into an ambulance van with "Piece Of Me" playing.

It is so annoying. I mean, the commercial stations have random stuff like traffic updates, but I can cope with that. But some man talking about what he did in the weekend? Er, no thanks.

Good things about Radio 1 are that it has specific shows, (like I usually listen to Wonder Years and Floorfillers on Friday afternoons, for example), which I like. Also I like how they play random songs from a few years ago, which you haven't heard in ages, and you're like "Oh, I remember that!". Also they tend to overplay songs less than Capital. Although there are still a few songs I felt got overplayed on Radio 1 this year (e.g. Rope, I Need a Doctor, Born This Way, and a current one being Set Fire to the Rain).
