10months ago i asked Buzzjack who they believe had flopped. The Most predictable answer was Christina Aguleria as despite getting a number one album the sales were quite awful and fell out the charts fast. Gabriella Cilmi also recieved a lot of points for being a flop as her era didin't quite match up to her debut era saleswise. Nadine Coyle with the flop of her debut album and single joined the list along with Scissor Sisters, Duffy, Shakira, Marron 5, Sophie Ellis Bexter, Alphabeat, Jedward, Klaxons and Sugababes.

Many posters on Buzzjack also said relative unknown artists had flopped including Alex Gardner, Sky Ferriera, Daisy Dares You, Girl Cant Catch and Mini Viva. One poster also made a valid Point that Chris Brown had flopped which was true consedering the poor sales of I can Transform You & Crawl along with album sales. However he's turned this remarkably around.

Who do you think/has flopped this year? Please attempt a valid answer.

People who I think Will Flop This Year

- Parade. Despite getting a top 10 with Louder, Perfume just managed to scrape top 40 and has dropped out of the iTunes top 100 and will be lucky to spend two weeks in top 100. Louder also had awful sales for a top 10 with less than 70,000 sales sold! Such a front-loaded single.

- Wonderland. One song reached top 60, Lead single didin't make it and the album dropped out the top 40 fast.

- SoundGirl. I'm the fool didin't get a release and Don't Know Why didin't even make the top 40.

- Kaiser Chiefs - Their new album is going to do horrendus imo.

I don't know about Wonderland you know. I think they're slowly getting more and more popular with each release. It's quite strange tbh. I don't think they'll get dropped by their label just yet and I think their second era will be more successful than their first.

I hope you're wrong about Parade too (but you're probably right about them :() I need to hear their album. The song they performed on their Album Chart Show special was good!

Beady Eye- Their first single only got to No31. Next single 'Millionaire' only got to No71

They've had 4 hits. 'Bring The Light' got to #61 in 2010, then 'The Roller' got #31, 'Across The Universe' (which was some non-album charity single) got to #88 and 'Millionaire' got #71 this year.

They've still flopped horribly though, especially considering they're essentially Oasis. The album didn't do that well either.

Anyway, it's sort of end of 2010/start of 2011 but Alesha Dixon has really flopped recently. Drummer Boy only got to #15, Radio #46 and Every Little Part Of Me #78. And her album only got to #84! (Plus her Roll Deep collab only got to #29 even though Roll Deep's previous 2 singles both got #1)

How has Alex Gardner and Sky flopped? They haven't even released an album to determine if overall they have flopped.

Clare Maguire has flopped. Talented woman though. Her album was alright. But alright, not best selling worthy. I think she could be big with album 2

Many guitar based acts who have attempted a comeback recently have flopped (mainly because guitar music isn't very 'in' at the moment):

Hard-Fi (comeback single only made No. 51)

The Feeling

My Chemical Romance

Kaiser Chiefs - remains to be seen but I doubt the album will have any longevity even it it does make the Top 10 this week

Arctic Monkeys - I know the album got to No. 1 but I doubt it will sell anywhere near as much as their previous albums, so a flop in that sense

The Strokes - first two albums were pretty big

Glasvegas

Manics

The Wombats

Then there's the pop comebacks:

Blue

Sophie Ellis-Bextor

Avril Lavigne

Mel C's latest era is gonna flop big time, although I guess her last era did as well.

You could also argue that Cheryl Cole's last single flopped and led to no further singles being released from the album!

Shania Twain - her lead and comeback single failed to chart, and her album will probably not noticed in the chart
I really hope Cher Lloyd flops Swagger Jagger is beyond a joke and Syco need to pull there socks up, similarly I wish Jedward would just go away, forever, anywhere but there comeback will flop.Parade just need a really strong track and to click with the public, equally I think the same for Soundgirl it is not looking good but I think a strong song could turn things around.Melody Thornton with the brilliant Sweet Vendetta not sure why it flopped.I feel for Alesha Dixon I do not know why things have gone so wrong for her but she has flopped.

I hope darren hayes doesnt flop.

Natasha bedingfield was or is a big flop. hopefully she can recover...

Something tells me Cher Lloyd isn't going to flop now that Radio One are supporting it. Any song R1 really push can get top 5, just look at Willow Smith last year :puke:

Errrr, I'm sure her album will do good.

Today Is Your Day is most likely a buzz single to help promote her TV show in the States, it did pretty well over there.

It wasn't sent to radio over here.

And there is no way her album will go un-noticed.

Arctic Monkeys - I know the album got to No. 1 but I doubt it will sell anywhere near as much as their previous albums, so a flop in that sense

It has already sold more than their previous album, hasn't it?

Cher Lloyd will not flop. As much as people want her too. She's going to have big sales for her debut single. (Not sure about over 100k first week though, but seeing as it's not OA/OS, it wouldn't surprise me. A pretty much guaranteed X Factor slot possibly with a ballad (in the vein of 'Stay') as next single, will surely ensure her album goes at least over 300k in total?

Parade and SoundGirl won't get as far as an album sadly :(

Abi Phillips (Liberty in Hollyoaks) is a brilliant singer, and her new single is a proper summer anthem but she screams flop. She's a terrible actress btw, it's obvious the label wangled her a spot in HO to promote her...

Wynter Gordon - Dirty Talk has done well, and probably Parade's flop top 10 Louder tbh, at least for a non-top 20. But she screams one hit wonder - which is sad as her album is one of the best of the year this far.

Can't think of anymore atm...

Btw, I don't think Cher Lloyd will flop. You either love or hate her, despite all the hate she does really have her fans and has gained some with Swagger Jagger from what I know - plus with Radio 1 on board I'll say SJ will be huge. And (as has been mentioned) the inevitable ballad as a single single with XF slot should also be big and sell her album well. I also wouldn't write off Wonderland just yet - they do seem to be growing in fanbase. The next single could go top 40, then they'll be a lot bigger in their second era.

It has already sold more than their previous album, hasn't it?

No where near, 'Humbug's figures were 292k the week before the new album was released.
