Regarding the audio video on Leona's VEVO, comments have now been disabled, and there's almost half as many dislikes as there are likes. :(

They've also posted the link to it on her official Facebook page, asking people to "listen and like" it.

This is what's happened, he's releasing it as 'Fade Into Darkness' with vocals by a Swedish singer I forget the name of. Just because he sent it to Syco doesn't mean it was only given to Syco, he sent it around loads of places because he knew it would do well with a vocal on it, which it will. Knowing Syco this is probably their 'permission'.

By the way here is the Avicii song 'Fade Into Darkness'. It was first put on YT on Friday the same days as 'Collide' got its first airing and has now been added as 'coming soon' to release schedules. You (well I anyway) get the impression that this is what they were going to launch with when the time was right.

I think the song is better but the vocals aren't.

I love that, generally fits better together I think. I've loved the instrumental since hearing it on Annie Mac's show a while back, so odd hearing it with vocals (either version). Leona does sound amazing on 'Collide' but I agree that 'Fade Into Darkness' is the better song.

Fade Into Darkness is SO much better. Especially the ending.

Cant work out how and where to reply to a post. Thanks so much for replying to my post Megataff. Do we know if Leona's Official Forum is to be reinstated?

Hi Noella...ur name rings a bell from somewhere...prolly from one of the LeLe forums :-)

You also prolly know about the DS forum where a lot of the old official forum members hang out - they're also pining for the forum to return - though I personally don't miss the strict posting etiquette the mods used to employ on there - which is why I stopped frequenting it. (you couldn't even post links to other 'selected' websites...which were usually the common ones anyway!)

If you don't visit the DS forum...here's a linky to the latest page at the moment...

Looks like Leona haters just found an excuse... I am tired of all this. I wish it would just end here... let the best song win or whatever!

I guess negative comments will have died out by the time the song is released. I will refrain from reading about this dispute from now on. Greedy-bast*rd record companies! :P

I actually love both tracks :kink:

Hi Megataff. Your name rings a bell too. Thought it might be from the forum. Great to be talking to fellow Leonaite. I have looked on DS in the past. Will do so again. Will be interesting to read all the posts here and there. Thanks again. Really appreciate your help.

Autumn Rowe was interviewed for Digital Spy and spoke about Leona a bit:

Congratulations on having 'Collide' chosen as Leona's new single!

"I'm so happy that it's out. I've been working with Leona for months, working on the sound. I'm just so happy that she's happy and her voice sounds amazing. It's such a fun summer song. For me, when I hear it, I just want people to feel what I felt when I wrote it. I want them to feel love and just feel good."

What can you tell us about writing the track?

"I was already working with her for quite some time. She wasn't involved in [writing] it, but what happened was, I was working with her and we were just about to go to Sweden. I had like three days in New York and I was going to go see her and I wrote the song then. I was inspired by the travelling and everything we've done. I'd never been to Sweden; that's where the line 'When you're in...' [came from]. On that trip I was going to Sweden, Denmark, London and Miami."

What sort of process do you go through when writing for an artist?

"With Leona, first we hung out and got to know each other. I feel that it's very important that we are comfortable and friends, because writing has to be one of the most vulnerable things that you can do. You have to just pour your soul out and have no ego. Once we got in the studio, we started with Jonas Quant and wrote a couple of songs. She was completely open about her life, how she was feeling, where she was right then - she'd just had a birthday the day before we started. It was a perfect time for her in her life. For me, when I turned 25, that's when I really became a woman and it's just a great age - you really know who you are."

You must be excited to hear your song come to life in live performances?

"Oh my god, I'm so excited to sit with my mum and watch her. 'Collide' is my mum's favourite song; out of all the songs I've ever written, my mum was like, 'Oh my god, this song!'. I can't wait.

Is 'Collide' a good indicator of what to expect from Leona's third album?

"Her album is going to be really diverse. The stuff she has done with Emilie Sande is very dark, very UK - it's frickin awesome. Her album is going to be so diverse. It could possibly be her best album yet. She's grown into who she is and has so much input on the album. Every song is her."

You wrote 'Collide' yourself, but has Leona co-written anything with you?

"Yes we wrote a song together in Sweden, but I don't want to give the title!"

Same. I do believe there was a mix up at some point and whoever it was at SyCo actually thought they could keep the track instead of just getting a writer to write over the top of it for a major star or whatever.

One thing's for sure both Leona AND Avicii are innocent in this. It's just two management teams who can't agree on anything. Ah well, any publicity is good publicity. The instrumental sounds like Chicane's version of 'Poppiholla' though!

Some of the comments about Leona I've read on the videos on youtube are disgusting

I think thats why they may have disabled comments. :( I hope she hasnt been seeing them. This is so unfair, as Jonjo said Leona is innocent in all this and its probably ruining her much awaited comeback for her!

Thanks Rain for the Autumn interview. :)

This isn't anything AMAZING, although it is fairly good and has its fair share of qualities.

'Outta My Head' is as good as she's gonna get for an uptempo I think, they truly WASTED that and it'll forever annoy me. :(

meh.... outta my head was good... especially when included on her second album, when people were sooo sure she couldn't do anything but ballads... but it would not have necessarily been a big hit in the real world / outside the UK... (i personally think that 'scene of the crime' is waaaay betta)

To me Collide has a much more worldwide appeal... IMO its such a catchy summer song... syco may still make a mess of the release and she may not get the big comeback she deserves, but i honestly think this is the best song she could have come back with...

... she has finally broken the 'ballad singer' label... and when people (undoubtably) suggest that this is a ballad with a beat, i hope she can release a video that showcases a fun side, and finally proves that leona can compete with the (IMO) less talented singers out there, who have worldwide followings (gaga / rihanna / katy / adele) etc ...

... i remember hearing bleeding love on radio one for the first time and thinking that an eighties throwback would never be a hit... but that song grew on me within a few days, just like this song... i really think that unless there is a huge 'anti-cowell' backlash, and a sudden "avicii - fade into darkness' release" "coincidently" on the same day, this will be a big number 1 single! :-) Hope so anyway :-) xxx

Translation: SOTC shits all over OMH.

I like Collide... but I LOVE Fade Into Darkness :yahoo:
They will cancel each other out. Wonderful :D
