Iirc the official second single is Someone Like You, but I've heard the other ones on AC radio and Lite FM over here. I don't know why they aren't giving SLY a full push yet. It'll shoot to #1 with a proper video.

Ships in the Night by Mat Kearney is STILL top 40. STILL shocked by this.

Cheers (Drink to That) has finally surpassed Cali King Bed.

I'm guessing Rumour Has It and Set Fire have been sent to certain radio formats that SLY won't appeal to?

LOL it took like a minute.

CKB almost killed the whole era.

Adele indeed has the strategy of two or perhaps three different singles. I don't know if RHI is officially sent to radio though.

California King Bed has performed appallingly in the USA! It was quite big given the circumstances (million selling album, shit song) in the UK but still only a minor hit.

Rihanna's Loud era chart peaks in the USA:

1 - 1 - 1 - 37

 (also #59 for Man Down and #91 so far for Cheers (Drink To That))

To be fair, I think in the US, California King Bed and Man Down were released at the same time. Man Down got sent to urban radio, whilst California King Bed got sent to pop stations I guess (this is according to Wikipedia, so it could be wrong). So the promotion of the two songs would've been split up a bit.

Man Down wasn't released as a proper single in the UK, so California King Bed got all the attention. Still, I would've expected better though. She managed to have Only Girl and What's My Name? at the very top of the charts together at the same time.

Yea the problem wasn't the strategy, CKB just doesn't seem to connect with her core audience as it flopped in sales more than airplay-wise.

Yeah. As a Rihanna fan, I didn't like California King Bed at all tbh.

People just are not interested in ballad Rihanna. I like CKB but it is definately the weakest single from the Loud era.
Katy's Last Friday Night remix is out, only 69 cents too. It'll shoot all the way up to the top soon, hopefully.

I think CKB was just poor. Rihanna had successful ballads before (Unfaithful and, most notably, Take a Bow).

I love LFN (TGIF) but It don't Deserve to be #1
I would say it is a more deserving number one than California Gurls and ET. Really hope Katy matches Michael's record.
