Niggas In Paris doing so well now :o :D So much better than 'Why I Love You', I wish it was the third UK single. Would probably bomb just as hard but still.

I guess US radio works differently to UK radio but it's really BIZARRE to see songs like 'Niggas In Paris', 'Headlines' and '5 O'Clock' in the US airplay top 10. Having said that 5 O'Clock isn't doing too badly on UK radio so far but that's probably more down to Lily Allen than anything else.

Someone Like You now behind Moves Like Jagger (7 and 6 respectively) Rolling In The Deep is back up to #22 though. Set Fire To The Rain #30.

Forgot to post this yesterday. New Digital Songs top 10 (I hope no one minds me posting this in here every week, it is relevant to the topic :P):

1 LMFAO - Sexy And I Know It 226k (up 24%)

2 Rihanna feat. Calvin Harris - We Found Love 209k (down 1%)

3 Bruno Mars - It Will Rain 196k (up 14%)

4 Flo Rida - Good Feeling 141k (up 2%)

5 Katy Perry - The One That Got Away 137k (up 29%)

6 Maroon 5 feat. Christina Aguilera - Moves Like Jagger 125k (up 27%)

7 Adele - Someone Like You 114k (down 10%)

8 Gym Class Heroes feat. Adam Levine - Stereo Hearts 114k (up 35%)

9 David Guetta feat. Usher - Without You 107k (down 24% - ouch)

10 LMFAO feat. Lauren Bennett and GoonRock - Party Rock Anthem 101k (up 30%)

Three random old songs getting massive sales increases there.

EDIT: Oh, all 3 of them (and SAIKI) were performed at the American Music Awards. That would explain it.

No mention of Someone Like You passing 3 million. By my count the extra 114k this week puts it at 3,076,000 :D

I thought it was quite a well-known fact that RnB and hip hop songs do MUCH better on US radio than UK radio. It was even more pronounced a few years ago too. I guess they use audience impressions, so it seems more people tune in to the urban stations than the other stations.

It's true though, I am hearing 5 O'Clock EVERYWHERE on the radio, which I find so strange, since the song is so un-radio friendly (in the UK). Lily Allen being so popular here must be a large part of a reason, since I don't really get why so many radio stations would have decided to play some random T-Pain/Wiz Khalifa song when they never play any of their other songs. The song is quite good, but a lot of their other songs are great too, and more UK radio-friendly.

Any sign of Nicki Minaj's "Roman In Moscow" yet? She retweeted on Twitter someone mentioning how it'd jumped 275 places in less than 20 minutes.
#80 on my feed which I don't think is too bad, I don't know when exactly it was added to iTunes but I don't think it was on there at 7pm UK time so it's had a maximum of 2 hours 30.

45. Roman In Moscow - Nicki Minaj

Does this sample Michael Jackson's 'Stranger In Moscow' by any chance?

No.

Ah. Unusual theme to come up in two different songs then.

Perhaps the theme could've been inspired by Michael's song, even if it doesn't actually sample it.

Come to think of it, Nicki doens't use that many samples, considering she's an urban artist.

SFTTR  25 :D

CLIMB CLIMB CLIMB

Its already sold so much, and ofcourse 21 has too. :D

Glee at #1 with 'We Are Young' :drama: Seems it's completely random these days if they flop or do well. They're also top 10 with 'Survivor / I Will Survive'. This ridiculous sounding 'Red Solo Cup' song is also top 10 now (Glee version only #29 though).

26. Bang Bang Pow Pow - T-Pain & Lil Wayne

Are there thousands of people in the USA that search 'Lil Wayne' on iTunes every single day to see if he appears on any new songs? :drama:

Rolling In The Deep down at #56 at the moment but its chart position seems to fluctuate wildly from day to day so I'm sure its top 40 and even top 30 days are still far from over.

Set Fire To The Rain seems to have stalled again, still at #24 - hopefully it'll break the top 20 soon.

28. We Are Young (feat. Janelle Monáe) - Fun.

How dare this artist/band/whatever steal my catchphrase for their name

What the f**k is "Red Solo Cup" doing at #8  I hate country, but this has got to be one of the worst country songs EVER :puke:

I love the Glee version of 'Red Solo Cup' but not as keen on the original. Glad to see the best two Glee songs from the episode (We Are Young & Survivor/I Will Survive) are doing the best. So Janelle Moonáe features on the original? Never heard of it before.

They probably don't search his name Bray, they probably just view the current iTunes Top 100 and think "Ooh, Lil Wayne, not heard that one yet" :kink:

I'm a country fan but my christ Red Solo Cup is awful. Mindless drivel at best

Apparently Red Solo Cup was performed an awards show a while ago. So that combined with it being in Glee boosted it into the top 10.

I have a friend that's a big Rihanna fan, and he joined this Rihanna fan club website, and they send him emails whenever a new Rihanna song goes on iTunes (so he'd've got emails when Princess of China, We Found Love, Take Care, etc. got released). So maybe a lot of Lil Wayne fans do something like that. They'd probably have to clear their inboxes on a DAILY basis though.

Is 'We Are Young' not that song that was on an ad not that long ago? By The Beach Boys or something like that. (I could just look it up but CBA).

EDIT: Looked it up anyway - it is the 'Fun.' song. Huh. What a bizarre song to cover

EDIT2: And I have NO idea where I got The Beach Boys from. I was thinking of 'Alright' by Supergrass. Close enough
