Yes, I'm the biggest Sugababes loon on BuzzJack. Doesn't go quite well with my utter hatred towards 3.0/4.0 though but oh well.

To Bray: Sugababes were only brought up because the person whose post is quoted in here claimed that Leona outsold Saturdays, Pixie Lott and 'Babes. AS A FELLOW PENDANTIC CUNT you should understand the urge I had to correct the delusional said poster.

I have never laughed so hard, this thread needs to stop and be reopened 5th September :P

Once again Karma proves himself a complete and utter embarrassment to all us Leona fans.

I seriously hope he ***** off before September 4th so none of us are subjected to his ridiculous comments on the iTunes thread which I can already foresee:-

If Leona hits the top of the iTunes chart, smug Simon Cowell-esque comments along the lines of "I knew all along she'd be #1, haterz take that!!!!"

And if she doesn't, some loon-based illogical and delusional nonsense that it doesn't matter as Leona has sold more albums in the past / will go on to sell more in the future, or a complete tangential comment that fails to acknowledge what the previous poster said.

When I'm a fan of an artist, I try and not get my hopes up too high anyway. I don't like being disappointed, so I never try to get too confident that they'll do well.

And I think Leona does certainly have a chance at #1, but I think it's far from certain in this case. She's got some strong competition I think.

I remember being gutted Missing You didin't get number one but it's taught me a very well lesson. I know I can be a Saturdays & Pixie Loon, therefore the 4th of September will be a awful week for me! But I do think Pixie's going to get number one her airplay has been very impressive.

I don't think Leona will get number one in the slightest I've only heard it on the radio once and with the court case coming up it might not get released... I think Collide will peak at number 6. Happy a much better song with amazing promotion behind it came in at 2nd with disappointing sales, Leona's more of an album selling artist as her fan base could be the older generation who don't use iTunes to purchase music.

Completley agree with this, but I must ask - Do you think Pixie releasing the video for All About Tonight really early will go against her? Leona (if she gets to release it) will release her video 2/3 weeks before the song is released which I think could help her...

Releasing a video early does not go against you.

It's going to be one hell of a week. Stans out in full force, can't wait for the epic dragging that will ensue

Spot on Bre. Anyone suggesting otherwise is talking nonsense. It will only help boost (repress) Pixie's first week sales. It might mean she doesn't have the longevity that she might have otherwise had, but the peak position will almost certainly be better.

I think Pixie will peak the highest but fall out the charts much quicker (or have a Boys and Girls type chart run), Leona will either be huge or flop (I can't see any "middle ground" with her as Bleeding Love/Better In Time/Run were all huge and Forgive Me/Happy/I Got You flopped) and The Saturdays will probably peak around #4 or #5 and have a Ego/Higher type chart run.

I think an early music video could hurt if it was released and sent to MTV like 3 months before the song itself.

We saw this last year with Hard and Imma Be. Both massive artists, who missed the top 40. I wondered why all the time, but one thing they have in common was that their music videos had been playing on MTV for months before their actual release dates.

So perhaps it can hurt. But Pixie's music video hasn't been released very early really, when you compare it to those songs, and it also has the advantage that it can't be cherry-picked. I think it'll be fine.

They flopped because they both had very little airplay and came from massive selling albums. This is a very different situation.

The amount the albums had sold between Te Amo and Hard and Rock That body and Imma Be is honestly not that much of a difference to go from two big top 20 hits to missing the top 40. And I heard both songs on the radio a lot (albeit I heard Hard on the radio more before Rude Boy was released than when it was actually released).

The main difference between those songs and Pixie's song is that Pixie's video has been released like 6 weeks early, compared to those songs which had their videos like 15 weeks early.

That's why I bet on a top-25 smash for 'Freedom' to be honest.

The key difference between those releases and Pixie's is (as you say) that both Hard and Imma Be could be cherry picked whilst the video was in rotation, hence spreading out the sales.

Pixie is in the opposite situation where legal sales generated from the 6 weeks of video play are all going to be compressed into week 1 on the whole, or certainly earlier than they would have been otherwise.

I wonder what is happening with Collide, the Court case with Avicii has been ajourned till next Tuesday,Syco need to get there act together. After seeing Pixies video it has really turned me off the song.I hope Collide can go to No 1 it is far better.

I'm excited for this week. :D

I think it could be an all new top three.

Leona - Bleeding Love and Run were massive, Better in Time and Happy both JUST missed #1, worldwide success, returning single, lots of controversy over the song.

Pixie - two #1's and three further big single hits, returning single, best airplay of the three, favourite to win the battle

Saturdays - multiple top ten hits, very 'current' sounding single, always sell tons of physicals, narrowly missed out on the #1 a few times in the past

just read this thread now, Bloody Hell!

on the topic at hand, I think Pixie will be number 1 and maybe The Saturdays top 3, Leona (if she gets released) will be top 5 I reckon, I'm not feeling this at all, I really hope she loses and it doesn't get released, oh the reactions it will cause :D

Plus the Sugababes managed their sales without a deluxe edition, rereleases and the last album being out sold by Mutya Buena by nearly 10:1.

*teehee*

But no, well said.

How sad that the babes aren't releasing on this date any more... all the epic meltdowns we've lost as a result :(
