It was the B-Side to her 'buzz' single Under The Sheets, I heard it on Spotify when I didn't know much her, the week it was released. From then on, I was anticipating the album :D

Wow. That's awesome. I wish I'd known the song back then. But I'm glad I know it now anyway.

And I found the other Wiz Khalifa song that samples Ellie now. It samples her version of Your Song, mainly the line "I don't have much money", and it's a much higher pitch, and then he does a song on the subject (which makes a change from most of Wiz's songs where he talks about the exact opposite; how rich he is ). The beat is so good too!

FOUND IT! :D Okay, it DOES feature Chiddy Bang, but it was a different song.

It's a song called High by Big Sean (I posted about him a few pages ago, coincidentally), and it features Wiz Khalifa and Chiddy Bang.

And it samples Fighter Plane:

I love both. It's a very appropriate sample, since it does make you feel like you're high.

Although, I've just remembered ANOTHER song by Wiz Khalifa which sampled Ellie Goulding. Which I've now got to try and remember.

Wow, I love it when Ellie's vocals are echo like on "Wonderman". Amazing, thank you for sharing..

Fighter Plane! Love that song, haven't heard it for ages!

It's amazing! :D I only heard it for the first time a few weeks ago. But it's so good. I don't know how to describe it, but it's so floaty.

I found out about her through "Starry Eyed", I bought the album off it.

I love that high pitch . It really works with the song and beat. Thank you :D.

I'm not going to be here at 8pm today, so I'll do the top 100 update with 5:30 positions today (although it'll still be posted later as I have to leave the house in about 5 minutes :P)

Change of plan, I'll do the update with 9pm positions (which are probably a bit behind anyway). Update coming.

It's cool aswell, since his fans in the US will know of her now. I saw Ellie's album high on US iTunes a few times, so maybe it's some of Wiz Khalifa's fans over there buying it.

Another way they might discover her is through Tinie's album, since they both sing hooks on there.

She said on her Facebook her album was top 10 again on iTunes, I have no idea where it charted though officially. Hope it does boost her.

I would have launched her in Europe first though instead of Amarica. "Wonderman" was getting video play in Italy, so it might have been a good idea, and "Under the Sheets" charted top 100 in Germany, and "Your Song" top 30 in Denmark. The album was top 40 in a few countries too.

Which by the way has nothing to do with the fact it stops CC from being top 40 in the update. That's just a bonus. I didn't have time to open up iTunes before I left.

Hitz up to #44 - maybe it could stay top 40 on Sunday :o

I've seen Lights (the song) top 1000 on US iTunes before aswell. It would be nice if she could have success in some other countries. She has quite a few really good songs imo.

It's a shame she didn't get credited on that High song, because I think it charted top 100 in the US (it wasn't a single, but it got cherry-picked a lot).

Apparently she was top 30 in Denmark with SE and in New Zealend with YS. You are right, I think she could have some success, but I would have done some European promotion.

"Lights" was a flop here, I don't know why they are promoting it there . It was what she performed on SNL.

The album peaked at 76.

Edited by starryeyed

Starry Eyed got to 26 in New Zealand, 47 in Austria and 46 in Germany. Your Song got to 22 in Denmark, 25 in Sweden and 56 in Switzerland. So not too much European success. The album's done well in the US though, considering.

Today's top 100 update (9pm positions)

Three new entries today and again all are old songs climbing back up due to being reduced to 59p. Salt-N-Pepa enter at #84 with Push It. Magnetic Man feat. Angela Hunte enter at #95 with I Need Air. Tiësto vs. Diplo feat. Busta Rhymes enter at #98 with C'mon (Catch 'Em By Surprise). Rihanna, Wilson Phillips and Foo Fighters have entries drop out to accommodate the 3 top 100 entries.

Starry Eyed got to 26 in New Zealand, 47 in Austria and 46 in Germany. Your Song got to 22 in Denmark, 25 in Sweden and 56 in Switzerland. So not too much European success. The album's done well in the US though, considering.

That's not too bad. At least some people know who she is I suppose.

Lights went top 50 on US iTunes after she appeared on I think Saturday Night Live?

Wow. That's good. I must've missed that at the time. Currently it's at #521, and a Bassnecter Remix is at #750! :o

I remember Wonderman went top 1000 when Tinie released his album there aswell.

Considering she was unknown and there was no promotion I know of, I think she has done quite well considering. And the album is doing well, it's around 120 just now.

She did perform on it, and wow that's amazing!

Maybe things are better there when I thought.

It's been good to see Katy climb up iTunes, hope it gets a new peak.

Guess I'm one of the only ones who actually thinks The Sats new one is decent. Better than Notorious by FAR and Sounds like a Summer smasher to me.

I agree.

I deffo think The Saturdays or Pixie should be number 1 on 4 Sept, I prefer All Fired Up though so ideally that'll be number 1. I can't see any of the new releases being number 1 though, except maybe Leona and (although I've not heard all of Freedom by Sugababes) Collide is the worst of the 4 imo, though I still really like it. I think it'll go:

1. Example

2. Leona

4. The Saturdays

6. Pixie Lott

14. Sugababes

Isn't it always the way - nothing for ages, then 5 come along at once... :P

It's amazing! :D I only heard it for the first time a few weeks ago. But it's so good. I don't know how to describe it, but it's so floaty.

Plus Ellie is so cute.
