Wow I'm actually in shock!

From a chart perspective, I honestly hope 'Back To Black' can finally reach the chart position it deserved back in 2007 and blocks JLS from #1 next week. Also it'd be nice to have the album BTB back at #1 next week - a worthy album to end 21's (second) run.

So do I.

Of course I already own the album (and it is a great one!) but I downloaded the track B2B again today. I knew she was about to die a horrible death sometime, it was just too soon  .

Amy for both no1 album and single!

I don't think Back To Black will go anywhere near number 1 (single), if MJ couldn't, then I don't think she can either, I think it will be remarkable if it manages top 10 - its the one Amy song I can tolerate, so I'm glad its doing the best :D I think the album will definitely go back to number 1 - she won't need to sell that much
Jacko actually died on a Thursday.

Very late on Thursday in the UK though. I remember only knowing it when I was told when I woke up the morning after, and I'd been on the internet until 23:00.

If JLS sold 90k and Amy 60k there wouldn't be any need of outrage. It's not like JLS knew that someone would die..

Likewise Cascada but look what happened! People speak as if it was Cascada's fault that their song sold more than Man In The Mirror on that week.

They should've postponed the release. Or iTunes should've had an MJ only week!

Well, it kind of was. If they'd made a song less appealing to the public, it wouldn't have sold that much.

This was posted just 3 days ago:

JLS would 100% get #1 unless something very unexpected happens... shame because the song is rubbish. It'll go on my rubbish #1 songs of the year list I guess :P

Funny that I read this the other day and thought that only someone dying would stop them. And even then I thought of Amy Winehouse :(

Wasnt the sales pretty close in the end between the two tracks by just a few 200 copies or something, I can't remember now. I have to look back at my sales.

Surprised Valerie isn't doing better.

Found it... the sales for Cascada 61,211, Jacko 56,151

Exactly 2 years ago near enough, and JLS was #1 2 weeks later with Beat Again

Top 100 update coming up, but once again it's very behind, so neither of the Amy tracks are there yet.

Surprised Valerie isn't doing better.

I suspect this would be because of Mark Ronson being the main artist.

Back To Black is far better, imo, so I'm glad it's doing better.

Me too. I felt like it was her most popular song. Although perhaps everybody already has it.

Doubtful.

Its because 1. Its Mark Ronson ft Amy Winehouse 2. Its a bit too upbeat for this kind of news. 3. The other songs are doing much better as they are off her albums and being played all over the news channel's, the most played one being 'Back to Black' and in result its doing the best.

I think Back to Black is doing the best because, firstly, it was top 200 beforehand, and secondly, it's 59p.

BTB is also benefitting from the fact it's 59p (but it being played a lot on news channels and also being the title track of her more successful album are both factors in it as well)

There are numerous factors, those two being two of them, and the fact its being played all over TV and as Bre said title of her biggest album.
