July 28, 201114 yr We have been told not to expect any stock of Amy Winehouse until early/mid next week!! The sales on Amazon, Play, HMV etc, have been huge and they are still accepting orders even though at present they do not have the stock to fulfil them. This is alot different to when MJ died as he had so many back catalogue titles that most record shops and supermarkets had something of his and also due to the amount of releases sales were spread out where in Amys case everyone is after just 2 releases. If she does not make it to #1 this week then I'm sure she will next week when there is enough stock to meet demand - Shame so many sales have been missed this week though due to a lack of physicals. Another fact to why michael jackson sold so much is because the shops already had a lot in stock because they knew he would be selling a great load during his concerts. Aside of this, Mj is a bigger seller than most artists anyway.
July 28, 201114 yr Digital 'stock' can't 'run out'. It's only a problem for Amy right now because CDs still make up the majority of the album market. If digital albums had a higher percentage share of the market Amy would almost certainly be #1. He was joking :P

July 28, 201114 yr Surprised Valerie is still top 40, considering the top version has now plummetted to the low 60s on iTunes... BTB out of the top 5 :( Expected though
July 28, 201114 yr I take it Kelly Rowlands album is not going to be counted because its an import? It is counted, it's just not top 40.
July 28, 201114 yr BTB out of the top 5 :( Expected though I'm also not happy. :( Shame about BTB album too. Edited July 28, 201114 yr by Jason
July 28, 201114 yr Chris Brown's album #11??? :o Wonder if it could re-peak (it peaked at #10 on release)???? :D
July 28, 201114 yr Chris Brown's album #11??? :o Wonder if it could re-peak (it peaked at #10 on release)???? :D It seems to be doing a Jason Derülo. His album went like this: 8-29-23-29-33-32-39-52-58-58-54-40-28-21-21-32-30-25-17-24-25-15-10-9-... Entry in the top 10, big drop in week 2, stabilising a bit, dropping more, climbing back up and eventually getting another 2 weeks top 10.
July 28, 201114 yr So Amy's two albums won't be combined but counted separately? If so, I find that a bit daft and I would love if Chris Brown's F.A.M.E album was to get back into the top 10, with the possibility of a new peak, it probably chart at 11 or 12 this week in the end, if Winehouse has two of the same album's in the top 10 three times. As for the singles, another boring week, I can't stand the JLS song, they're music is getting worse and worse.

July 28, 201114 yr Joss Stone actually making the Top 40? :o :D At least it will outpeak Colour Me Free.
July 28, 201114 yr Disappointing that the BTB single won't be Top 5. Hope it's Top 10 on Sunday though.
July 28, 201114 yr They are combined now. Ok because I did find the Frank/B2B a bit confusing, basically it's 2 albums together, so I didn't get why it was charting separate in the previous chart update, when B2B is at 2 and Frank at 9

July 28, 201114 yr I wonder will amy winehouse frank manage to stay top 10, as its starting to drop, im sure the availability of it is hampering its peak. Good to see Take That still on the rise in the alabums.
July 29, 201114 yr lots of chat about stock trouble... was in town today HMV had loads of both at front door and so have supermarkets so no excuse now. The way the singles are diving though people may already be starting to lose interest. Incredible Adele has stayed no1 despite this really. Didnt seem to have any of the double album box set anywhere though i wonder if most of its sales are digital?
July 29, 201114 yr If Adele is currently at #13, I can see it falling to #14 now that David Guetta's 'Little Bad Girl' is all the way up to #8 on iTunes, whilst Adele is at #11.
