That's what I mean, it wasn't an instant sales boost that comes from this kind of coverage, but a gradual increase in sales over the coming years. What I'm saying is that the band wouldn't consistently sell so many records year on year if he hadn't died.

I think theres two main reasons why Amy might not get the #1 album

 

1. The BTB and BTB Deluxe versions are charting separately, and it looks like lots of people are buying the BTB/Frank box set too further splitting sales

2. The shops wont have anticipated the demand so wont have the stock.

wow, Amy Winehouse domination - I think maybe the Valerie's will just miss out by Sunday, but other than that she should get about 5 entries in the top 40 :o surprised to see the album not there, although I guess people are split-buying the real one and the double set with Frank

 

good to see Maverick at 11, although it will probably fall to low top 15 by the end of the week, I did expect JLS to have higher sales although I guess when you combine the B-side, its much higher, could easily be their highest first week sales yet, could easily pass the 121k of EIL

I wonder how long the sales will sustain for amy winehouse, this week will do well as there is loads of coverage but after a week or 2 i wonder will the albums continue to sell or drop fast.

^ Shockingly, the only singles to remain in the #27-#40 region are Tinie Tempah ft. Wiz Khalifa 'Til I'm Gone', Adele 'Someone Like You' and Scouting for Girls 'Love How It Hurts'. I imagine S4Girls will drop out and allow Foster the People to climb back in - there's no way that'll slip out of the T40 that quickly.

 

Am sort of pleased Winehouse has pushed Jessie J, Snoop Dogg, Adele, The Saturdays, Nicole and J-Lo out - they were all getting stale; although I imagine once the Winehouse-rush has died down we'll see one or two of them re-enter.

One of those hasn't actually dropped out, remember :P The second JLS entry is a mistake so what's currently #41 is actually #40.

 

Mann, Nicole, The Sats and Vato are all still top 40 on iTunes so it's most likely one of them that's #41 today.

I'm not a hysterical little girl, last time I looked as I was a rather large and relatively calm male - and I love JLS as a whole, especially She Makes Me Wanna. I'm pretty sure we can believe Klumzee is a boy too, and there are plenty of males on this site that like the song.

Oh it did?! :o I always had it in my head it peaked low top 30! Well, I'm more than happy about that peak now then haha. But LIALG getting a new peak is nice too. Even if it is my least favourite Amy song from the BTB era.
