July 26, 201115 yr Not in the UK. His death only had a small boost in sales. Look at the chart runs round about april 1994, highest position was 18 for a week. http://www.chartstats.com/artistinfo.php?id=458 That's what I mean, it wasn't an instant sales boost that comes from this kind of coverage, but a gradual increase in sales over the coming years. What I'm saying is that the band wouldn't consistently sell so many records year on year if he hadn't died.
July 26, 201115 yr I think theres two main reasons why Amy might not get the #1 album 1. The BTB and BTB Deluxe versions are charting separately, and it looks like lots of people are buying the BTB/Frank box set too further splitting sales 2. The shops wont have anticipated the demand so wont have the stock. Its a shame really :( Edited July 26, 201115 yr by simplyobsessed
July 26, 201115 yr wow, Amy Winehouse domination - I think maybe the Valerie's will just miss out by Sunday, but other than that she should get about 5 entries in the top 40 :o surprised to see the album not there, although I guess people are split-buying the real one and the double set with Frank good to see Maverick at 11, although it will probably fall to low top 15 by the end of the week, I did expect JLS to have higher sales although I guess when you combine the B-side, its much higher, could easily be their highest first week sales yet, could easily pass the 121k of EIL
July 26, 201115 yr I wonder how long the sales will sustain for amy winehouse, this week will do well as there is loads of coverage but after a week or 2 i wonder will the albums continue to sell or drop fast.
July 26, 201115 yr 11 new tracks in the 40, one good thing the Amy tracks has cleared a lot of deadwood from the likes of Foster The People (oops), Nicole, Saturdays, LMFAO/Natalia, Mann, Vato, Adele [RITD], J.lo/Lil'Wayne, Snoop Dogg, Chase & Status and Jessie J. Dropping Out xx (27) Foster the People • Pumped Up Kicks [27-30-31-27-27-xx] • 5 xx (29) Nicole Scherzinger ft. 50 Cent [58-27-15-14-03-06-09-15-19-23-29-xx] • 10 xx (31) The Saturdays • Notorious [08-21-33-26-21-18-21-28-31-xx] • 9 xx (32) LMFAO ft. Natalia Kills • Champagne Showers [71-46-43-43-41-37-32-xx] • 3 xx (33) Mann ft. Snoop Dogg & Iyaz • The Mack [45-49-42-28-29-33-xx] • 3 xx (34) Vato Gonzalez ft. Foreign Beggars • Badman Riddim (Jump) [07-11-16-26-34-xx] • 5 xx (36) Adele • Rolling in the Deep [02-03-04-05-04-04-05-09-08-09-15-16-16-22-26-27-33-34-26-31-37-41-44-45-43-47-36] • 22 xx (37) Jennifer Lopez ft. Lil Wayne • I'm Into You [40-31-21-13-10-09-10-16-20-26-31-37-xx] • 11 xx (38) Snoop Dogg & David Guetta • Sweat [16-12-16-09-04-06-05-06-08-09-07-09-14-19-25-27-33-35-38-xx] • 19 xx (39) Chase & Status ft. Tinie Tempah • Hitz [90-70-63-57-39-xx] • 1 xx (40) Jessie J ft. B.o.B • Price Tag [01-01-02-02-02-02-04-05-07-10-12-13-16-24-32-30-32-24-31-35-36-37-40-40-40-xx] • 25 ^ Shockingly, the only singles to remain in the #27-#40 region are Tinie Tempah ft. Wiz Khalifa 'Til I'm Gone', Adele 'Someone Like You' and Scouting for Girls 'Love How It Hurts'. I imagine S4Girls will drop out and allow Foster the People to climb back in - there's no way that'll slip out of the T40 that quickly. Am sort of pleased Winehouse has pushed Jessie J, Snoop Dogg, Adele, The Saturdays, Nicole and J-Lo out - they were all getting stale; although I imagine once the Winehouse-rush has died down we'll see one or two of them re-enter. July 26, 201115 yr One of those hasn't actually dropped out, remember :P The second JLS entry is a mistake so what's currently #41 is actually #40. Mann, Nicole, The Sats and Vato are all still top 40 on iTunes so it's most likely one of them that's #41 today.
July 26, 201115 yr Oh no. What a terrible shame you don't like it. :teresa: It's a dire song, aimed at hysterical little girls who don't like music. Anyone with a brain can see that.
July 26, 201115 yr It's a dire song, aimed at hysterical little girls who don't like music. Anyone with a brain can see that. That's your opinion, not a fact. I'm not exactly a fan of the song, but there's no need to belittle people who like the song.
July 26, 201115 yr It's a dire song, aimed at hysterical little girls who don't like music. Anyone with a brain can see that. ? I'm not a hysterical little girl, last time I looked as I was a rather large and relatively calm male - and I love JLS as a whole, especially She Makes Me Wanna. I'm pretty sure we can believe Klumzee is a boy too, and there are plenty of males on this site that like the song. Anyone with a brain should be able to deduce that people are allowed to like JLS, even if you don't. And besides, 'hysterical' little girls have as much right to like and buy the music that they want anyway... Edited July 26, 201115 yr by Liаm

July 26, 201115 yr It's a dire song, aimed at hysterical little girls who don't like music. Anyone with a brain can see that. Just because you dont like it, doesnt mean people who do like it 'dont like music'. A ridiculous statement.
July 26, 201115 yr Kutox is always making these snobbish and patronising comments here and on Digital Spy as well, its best to just ignore him -_- Edited July 26, 201115 yr by Chart Wizard
July 26, 201115 yr Who is Laura Wright? She was a member of All Angels but left and went solo a while back. I saw her live as a guest at a Lee Mead concert in Crawley - strong singer.
July 26, 201115 yr Wow! Unless I'm missing something, Katy Perry is the only climber in the top 40! :o Everything is a new or re-entry in the top 40, or a faller.

July 26, 201115 yr Woo for Amy! Glad TDOTO and BTB are set to get new shiny peaks :D It's just a massive shame about the circumstances in that they're given new peaks  The whole albums thing is confusing. Surely it's not hard to just add the sales and combine them together? OCC are just really lazy in that respect. The double album I understand why (although I'd personally add it to the most successful album like they do with double A-Sided singles - like what happened with Leona 'Better In Time'/'Footprints In the Sand') but meh. They're just being picky and idle.

July 26, 201115 yr TDOTO originally peaked at #16 :P I assume you mean LIALG?Oh it did?! :o I always had it in my head it peaked low top 30! Well, I'm more than happy about that peak now then haha. But LIALG getting a new peak is nice too. Even if it is my least favourite Amy song from the BTB era.
