ISTM that's more to do with JLS's sales collapsing almost as quickly, than any credit to Cher... :P

 

As it is, the songs below #2 are rapidly catching them both.

 

They aren't really 'rapidly' catching JLS at all - The Wanted are still 21% behind JLS (22% if you ignore Cher and set JLS as 100%) which is only a gain of +5% since Sunday. The rest below them are probably still at a similar proportion to JLS as they were on Sunday as well. Obviously the likes of David Guetta and Rizzle Kicks are increasing though.

 

It's possible that everyone's sales are collapsing I suppose. But JLS' sales aren't falling any faster than anyone else's at the moment.

This was already asked and answered just a page ago...

 

Jar Of Hearts was only released in the UK the week of the Glee episode. I don't know if that was a coincidence or if they specifically released it that week here to capitalise off Glee. But it got to #90 officially then and is now reclimbing due to it finally getting a proper commercial push, mostly from Heart FM. Obviously much of its big rise in the last few days (from low 30s to nearly top 10) is down to its price reduction as well though.

It's 'closing in' in the sense that all songs (except those that are already million sellers) are constantly 'closing in' - I'm pretty sure it's still over 100k off? I may be wrong though.

 

EDIT: It sold 711,800 last year and this year so far it's #45 YTD, with the YTD #40 on sales of 264,700 - so it's probably still about 40k off? I was definitely wrong about my initial statement :P but it's not really *that* close, will still take a good couple more months to reach 1m

I have no idea about a video, but with it's success in the US at the moment, + the fact it has vocals from both Bruno Mars and Eminem, I expect it should be given a proper UK push at some point. Though I admit I kinda expected it to stick around from cherry-picking, a la Airplays & LTWYL.

 

edit: I've looked it up and the video began shooting on July 20th.

If JTWYA sold another 14k to get to a million within a month, I'm sure Rihanna has sold somewhere around that amount in the past month too, which would bring her total to around 955k. If OG can go top 40 for a week or two and hang around (maybe also with XF coming up), I see no reason why she can't hit 1 million soon.

Hmm, maybe 40k was a bit over, but I don't think it's as little as 25k - probably more like 30k. There's bound to be at least a 5k difference between the YTD #40 and #45 surely :P

 

But yeah, it should pass 1 million by the end of September at the latest, probably a bit earlier actually.
