July 31, 201114 yr I now wish she didn't die - this chart shows that LMFAO are still in the T40 with CS and Christina Perri is finally T40  Tinie Tempah in the T30  R.I.P. :(

July 31, 201114 yr I do think most of the fallers from the 40 are going to climb back up next week due to lack of new releases and the Amy W tracks falling like a brick.
July 31, 201114 yr Christina Perri gets closer to the Top 40 every week and misses out at the last minute. Now that IS unlucky. Can she make it next week?
July 31, 201114 yr All these tracks that seem to surge up on iTunes during the week don't even seem to crack the T40. Christina Perri's 'Jar of Hearts' actually fell from 42-46 this week, despite reaching a new peak on the iTunes chart (#32). Likewise, Eminem's 'Space Bound' reached a new iTune peak (#33) but only managed to climb to 52 officially this week. Although I'd love to have Winehouse dominate the charts, I think the effect the death had on her music sales will wear off pretty quickly - I mean she went from 7 T40 entries to only 5 by Sunday and by the looks of it, only 'Back to Black' is set to remain in the T40 in the second week - although it'll suffer a huge fall (8-35) - something ridiculous like that. Interesting that Foster the People would've spent yet another week at #27 had Winehouse not charted.

I don't see her in the Top 40 next week unless Back To Black hangs on for another week.

I think the Now! album is the reason why Christina and Eminem charted lower than we'd've expected based off iTunes.

July 31, 201114 yr Apart from being pointless you don't know this would have happened. Chaos theory and all that.

It was #52 last week - this week it's dropped 3 places to #55. :P As Eric says, Now! 79 can probably be blamed for the low positions of Christina and Eminem. Suprisingly Little Dragon charted at #76 officially despite them only peaking at #76 on iTunes and being released on a Monday :o Edited July 31, 201114 yr by Bré

August 1, 201114 yr Apart from being pointless you don't know this would have happened. Chaos theory and all that. Agreed. That is assuming that all those who bought Amy Winehouse tracks did so as extra purchases on top of what they were already buying. However in reality people only have a limited amount of money to spend so had she not died, other tracks would have sold a bit more, and it wouldn't necessarily have been evenly spread around the chart. In this alternative universe where she is still alive the chart would probably look slightly different to one that simply has all the AW tracks removed. Edited August 1, 201114 yr by Col1967
August 1, 201114 yr Author Fine, I'll change it to "What the chart could have looked like if Amy hadn't died" instead of "What the chart would have looked like if Amy hadn't died" I only made the thread so you could have a good idea of what could of been in the Top 40 charts - like Christina Perri, who get's Top 40 on iTunes but fails to make the official Top 40 chart
