1. While I am happy to answer sales requests for songs/albums, please remember to state specifically which you want, and whether YTD and/or total sales. Also, please don't request more than 6 at once, or a total of 12 in any one week. Additionally, if a song is in my Monday top 20 update, then you don't have to ask for its total sales, they'll be in the Thursday update.

 

2. I only track singles/albums that have charted significantly in the current year, so I'm unlikely to be able to help with total sales of oldies, especially ones that first charted before 2009. Also, if a song hasn't been T75 this year, I'm unlikely to be able to help, as it probably won't have logged enough chart weeks for me to track it.

 

3. It's easier for me if you post requests in the appropriate YTD T20/T40 singles/albums threads, rather than the Sales one, as I sometimes miss them if they are in the latter. Also, whether you are reading this on Buzzjack or Haven, it's always a good idea to check the alternative forum if you can, as the same requests often come up on both.

Give Me Everything and On the Floor will pass 700k, S&M will pass 600k this year, Sweat should pass 500k in a couple of weeks, and Mr Saxobeat will pass 400k!! :D

So 9 out of 16 of this year's #1s have sold enough for at least a gold certification now (11 out of 16 if you include When We Collide and What's My Name? which sold 400k including last year's sales) :D 'Louder' and 'Glad You Came' are certain to pass 400k as well, leaving only 'We R Who We R', 'Don't Wanna Go Home' and 'She Makes Me Wanna' so far which may not pass the mark.

It was #42 YTD last week and #40 was at 255.6k so probably fair to assume it was at about 250k, then it sold some unknown amount this week at #12 which was between 27.4k (#8) and 21.4k (#16) - so let's go halfway and say it sold about 24.4k. So that puts it at a very rough ~275k. But nearly 2/3 of that was sold in its first 3 weeks so its sales are tailing off fairly rapidly. Not sure it'll be able to sell another ~125k - it'd need close to 6k per week which probably means staying top 50 or close for the rest of the year.

 

EDIT: Wait, it's #15 this week isn't it, not #12 :P So it probably sold a bit less than 24.4k this week. I don't think it will pass 400k, it could if it gets used on the XF though I guess?

 

We R Who We R has very little chance of passing 400k as it's selling very little per week now (not even top 200) and it was some 82k off last week which equates to nearly 4k per week to pass it. She Makes Me Wanna could pass 400k if its sales can hold up a little bit, it's already a quarter of the way there on its first week alone.

I own the whole top 20 of the year :o That doesn't mean I bought them all, some of them came on now albums. I did buy 10 of them which is quite a lot (I've downloaded more songs this year than in any other year, I guess it's because I got so many iTunes vouchers for Xmas :lol:)
