Our 'cheap generic dance entries' will be no more in the future.

East Rukahavian have always done their utmost to participate in BJSC and will continue to do so.

So without using our 'cheap generic dance entries', East Rukahavian have qualified for the final. A spokesman reported that they don't accept our Head of BJSC entries is not a 'cheap hoe' as it was reported that he was following their entries with Spinnin' Records and are demanding an apology. We spoke to Faith Capaldi and she said 'East Rukahavian will always continue to support BJSC'. however this is the first time people of East Rukahavian have listened to her as with her surnames both being two singers that are forbidden to listen to.

An immediate investigation is underway at East Rukahavian, as the embarassment of a nil pointer has happened last night during the semi-final results. A spokesman for East Rukahavian said:

This nil pointer has devastasted me, especially to the people of East Rukahavian, we hope to come back in the next contest, we want to feel that we take heart and pride in our entries, especially after the 'cheap generic dance-bloc entries' controversy.

0 points is iconic! A very exclusive club to be part of. I’m sure you’ll bounce back strong with something you’re proud of sending!

Following the fiasco of BJSC 149. we have decided to change genre for this contest. We spoke to Faith Capaldi and she said

"In the last contest, we were embarrassed, we felt that there had to be a change following the nil-pointer",

Not meant to be, but we'll be back, thanks to everyone for your votes. Better feedback than previous entries which include the nul-pointer, generic dance entries and the notorious David Jordan entry.

There's always the next contest, the options start now.

I am quite sad this one didn't make it as I thought it stood out a lot in the semi, thanks for a great song discovery anyway!
This already sounded good from when I was previewing the songs before the contest started but it did continue to grow also, not enough to make votes but it was included in the difficult batch to cut really. It'll be more down to how strong most found the semi more than anything. Keep it up tho Mack!

About the band behind our entry:

As the brain-child of Los Angeles native Jake Hays, Maudlin Strangers began its inception as a solo indie rock project in 2010. After a handful of independent releases and curating a band composed of close friends, they signed with BMG/Vagrant Records to release the label-debut "Overdose" EP in 2015, subsequently touring with label-mate Bad Suns across US/Canada. After a west coast tour with pop-trio LANY, they toured as direct support for Cold War Kids on their North America/Canada tour, before ultimately going on a hiatus in 2016. Forward to 2023, Maudlin Strangers re-emerges with a new lineup of more close friends (original member Richie Gonzales on Drums, Alexander "Schmorgle" Morgan on Guitar/Keys, and Drew Bruchs on Bass). The hiatus-breaking single "I'm Not In The Right Mind" is streaming everywhere now.

"If you’re looking for electro-pop that is darker than most but still sparkles enough to be worthy of a pool party soundtrack, then Maudlin Strangers… might just do the trick"

About the band behind our entry:

Indie trio Wild Rivers (Khalid Yassein, Devan Glover, and Andrew Oliver) have a gift for penning introspective lyrics and genre-fluid melodies that transmit wisdom beyond their years. Their new album, Sidelines—co-produced by Peter Katis (The National, Interpol, Sharon van Etten) and Wild Rivers was recorded in Connecticut, Los Angeles, and Khalid and Devan’s college town of Kingston, Ontario (where the two originally met and began making music together)—touches on coming-of-age themes and embracing the unknown.Sonically, Wild Rivers pull from a spectrum of sounds, imbuing pop, rock, indie, and folk into each song’s blueprint. “We all listen to a wide range of music, from hip-hop to indie rock to pop,” Devan says. “We like to pull our favorite parts of every genre and patch them together and see what works and see what feels good.”The live setting is where they originally cultivated a dedicated following and opening for celebrated acts like The Paper Kites, Donovan Woods and Jake Bugg. Building an authentic relationship with fans, while channeling classic singer-songwriters like James Taylor and Fleetwood Mac, has been vital to Wild Rivers’ connection with audiences across the globe.
