Cee-Lo 'Lil Star' 187 1 Avril Lavigne 'When You're Gone' 202 One of those is currently sitting somewhere in the top 10 and another isn't too far off. The gap between 3rd & 4th is just 4 points!
August 7, 201113 yr Author RESULTS 50 - 37 Plain White Ts 'Hey There Delilah' 52 49 - 28 Fall Out Boy 'Thnks fr th Mmrs' 57 48 - 33 Fray 'How To Save a Life' 59 47 - NE Paramore 'Misery Business' 60 46 - 27 Aly & AJ 'Potential Break Up Song' 67 45 - NE Manic Street Preachers 'Your Love Alone Is Not Enough' 68 44 - NE Justin Timberlake 'What Goes Around Comes Around' 83 43 - 24 Take That 'Shine' 93 42 - 16 Avril Lavigne 'Girlfriend' 93 41 - 31 Mason vs Princess Superstar 'Perfect (Exceeder)' 95 40 - 26 Gwen Stefani ft. The bottom 4 are unsurprising, with two AoR entries and two emo/rock entries, I'm not sure how Fall Out Boy ever finished so high?! Aly & AJ's run of good luck stops as they finally drop out and there are also big falls for Take That and Avril Lavigne. The increasingly irrelevant Natasha Bedingfield and Sophie Ellis-Bextor also drop out. 35 - 25 Beyonce & Shakira 'Beautiful Liar' 104 34 - 30 Christina Aguilera 'Candyman' 106 33 - NE Feist '1234' 110 32 - 20 Kaiser Chiefs 'Ruby' 112 31 - 21 Timbaland and OneRepublic 'Apologize' 117 30 - 39 Kelis ft. No No No' 214 Well the biggest shock is that Bleeding Love falls out! :o In the previous three years its finished 21st, 1st and 4th, however this year will finish outside of the top 100, wow! :o Entries from Kelis, Amy Winehouse, Avril Lavigne and Beyonce all fair much better this year after finishing in the bottom 15 last year. Just two changes to last years top 10. Play-off round: 10 - 06 Take That 'Rule the World' 223 09 - 11 Timbaland ft. Keri Hilson & DOE 'The Way I Are' 227 08 - 43 Bloc Party 'Flux' 233 07 - 08 Britney Spears 'Gimme More' 250 06 - 02 Sugababes 'About You Now' 269 05 - 04 Girls Aloud 'Call The Shots' 281 04 - 05 Nelly Furtado 'Say It Right' 298 Sugababes are another who usually qualify but also drop out as they can only manage 6th. Timbaland climbs into the top 10 from 11th last year but the biggest shock is Bloc Party reaching a high of 8th after finishing in a lowly 43rd last year. Nelly misses out by only four points 03 - 09 Amy Winehouse 'Back to Black' 302 02 - 01 Rihanna ft. Jay-Z 'Umbrella' 346 01 - 07 Robyn 'With Every Heartbeat' 405 So it's another victory for Robyn as With Every Heartbeat blitzes the competition finishing over 100 points of Amy Winehouse in third. Both of these qualify directly to the final for the first time. A possible explanation for Amy's climb would be her recent death but it doesn't seem likely when two of her other three entries fell this year and she's gone from three top 20 finishes to just the one. Umbrella predictably continues its excellent run with a comfortable 2nd.
August 7, 201113 yr You have got to be f***ing kidding me. Bloc Party are always awful but Flux is terrible even by their abysmal standards. (Cue hatred from Pavel) Peh. Predictable huge lead for Robyn (why is BuzzJack so obsessed with her?) and predictable horrendous Britney song qualifying. Just glad to see Amy going straight through even if it was probably helped a lot by her death. 'Call The Shots' and 'About You Now' are two examples of BJ-friendly songs that deserve the massive loonery they get - but they both finish behind f***ing Say It Right?! Not pleased with these results at all. Edited August 7, 201113 yr by Bré
August 7, 201113 yr KELLY MISSED OUT? F*** :( Over bloody Bloc Party as well? Sorry Pavel (and Cremey) :P And don't even get me started on Peter, Bjorn and John... :puke: Robyn is a fully brilliant winner though, and I'm please with the top 7! Bre is correct about Call The Shots and About You Now but also spot on with Say It Right, it's got NOTHING on Maneater and it's certainly light years away from the glorious Promiscuous, SIR is just SO overplayed and overrated! Not happy with Listen, Bleeding Love, When You're Gone, You Know I'm Good, No One, Big Girls Don't Cry and Foundations missing out either, though I know they all couldn't be through. So so annoyed that Never Again failed more than anything! Edited August 7, 201113 yr by Liаm
August 8, 201113 yr "Flux" is awesome, glad that and "Umbrella" made it through. Paramore would have been last without my vote :(
August 8, 201113 yr Nice result on the whole, I'm quite liking that as a forum we are now looning for Robyn. Fantastic top 3, and a fairly brilliant top 10. Disappointing to see Natasha and (poor brave) Sophie fail, and Aly & Aj aswell actually, but their continued success in this was always a bit baffling.
August 8, 201113 yr Disappointed that "Catch You" and "Soulmate" have fallen out of the top 35, but would have been about as disappointed if "Beautiful Liar" and "Candyman" had too, so the point is kinda moot. Otherwise, a decent (if, Bloc Party aside, slightly predictable) set of results.
