Today's top 100 update

Just the one new entry today. Following her very broken-foot-laced performance on Alan Carr, the second biggest British female solo artist of the year, Jessie J, enters at #52 with 'Who's Laughing Now', the fourth official single from her début album 'Who You Are'. The single version and album version respectively of singles 2 and 3, 'Price Tag' (feat. B.o.B) and 'Nobody's Perfect', re-enter the top 100 at #91 and #87 respectively. The single version of Jennifer Lopez feat. Pitbull's 'On The Floor' also re-enters at #94. Katy B and Tiësto each have an entry dropping out and both of Amy Winehouse's re-entries from yesterday also drop out to accommodate the 4 top 100 entries.

Just to add to a previous discussion, I too prefer Hush Hush to Wet - but I do like both a lot :D. I think Wet will get top 20, but may get stuck around #11-#13 - I want it to go top 10 though.
:o Cant believe that, so soon after F.A.M.E

I remember him doing an interview when F.A.M.E was released and he said he wanted 20+ songs on the album, but his label wouldn't allow him too.. which is why he's releasing a second part

Still think he should release a few more singles first

Isn't it ridiculous that the group is #2 in the album chart on pre-orders alone where the song wasn't even premiered? It's a too large damage for my idealism and ideal world where people buy songs only because they like them.

I know I'm a bit late with this, but I couldn't stay away.

I watched that interview aswell. It was at a radio station or something. I might try and find it again, but I remember him saying that he wanted all the songs he sent to the record label released. Whilst usually record labels get given a bunch of songs and pick and choose, then the rest get chucked away, or something given to other artists.

He's released so many singles already though. At the most, I can see just one more single after Next 2 You, probably Wet the Bed or something.

Yes, that's true, unfortunately. :( Although I guess it's still probably quite a small proportion of the overall sales which will be like that. But it's not what should be happening really.

Just waiting for Promises to get released now

I'm going to just buy the normal version and the Calvin remix, it would cost 1p less than buying the whole EP and I don't really want the other two tracks - plus it'll count as two sales :magic:

EDIT: Woo, it's out. :D

Nero could be a number 1, certainly top 10 and probably top 5 and Joe Jonas will probably go top 40, or just miss out. Aside from those, no interesting releases this week...

Joe will easily be top 20 at least IMO.

Joe Jonas has been pushed back a week

Well then, it'll be top 20 at least 2 weeks from now then. :P

:( I wanted to buy See No More now! I'd love it to be a shock top 10, it's one of those songs that's pretty hard to predict though.

This is going to sound quite stupid, but Cher has done better and worse than I expected. She's done worse in the sense that I thought she'd sell like 100,000, and I doubt she's even close to that. But I think she's done better, in that a few days ago I thought she'd be like 6 on iTunes at the end of the week, but she's still #2!!

Also, Last Friday Night might return top 10 since the Missy Elliott remix is being released. I stumbled across it on Hip Hop N More (probably the only thing about Katy Perry you'll find on that website, other than E.T. and If We Ever Meet Again ): http://hiphop-n-more.com/2011/08/katy-perr...-missy-elliott/

It's not bad, but I think it could've been better. It follows a similar formula to the Till the World Ends remix, which I rather liked. The best part of the song by far is what they've done with the saxophone section!

We should also get new entires in the top 40 from Bruno Mars, The Throne/Beyonce, and maybe even Jessie J.

The Joe Jonas song is a pleasant surprise.

Don't shoot me.

I think the same. And I have a burning hatred for all things Jonas Bros related.

The Jonas song was featured on the Radio 1 review show, but I just missed its section (although I luckily tuned in on time to hear them review Otis, which was awesome ).

Other new entries next week possible from Pitbull, and re-entries maybe from Rihanna, the Black Eyed Peas and Enrique Iglesias. And I heard there's a new Amy Winehouse song. That's potentially 9 news songs in the top 40, which isn't too bad.

Anyway, I think the Erick Morillo/Eddie Thoneick/Shawnee Taylor song could be a surprise hit, I've heard it quite a few times on Radio 1 and it's really good! Other than that and obviously Nero, the only potential new top 40 hits (other than climbers) are Dev and Charlie Simpson.

EDIT: And the Tony/Amy song, if it does get a release.

EDIT2: And there's a David Guetta hype single out tomorrow - quite a few new releases actually

EDIT3: And of course Jay-Z/Kanye/Beyoncé! 7 potential brand new entries top 40 isn't bad at all really.

EDIT4: And there appears to be a new Paul Weller song  Maybe if it has physicals it could challenge for top 40...

A new David Guetta song aswell? Surely that will go at least top 20 on iTunes? Is it released today, or in the middle of the week somewhere?

The song is actually really, really brilliant imo. If it's the song I'm thinking of. Leagues ahead of Where Them Girls At imo.

It's released tomorrow (Monday) - did you not comment on this in the 'Nothing But The Beat' thread in the dance forum? It's the Sia track, 'Titanium'. :P

Then he's releasing 2 more hype singles next Monday and the following Monday, can't remember what they're called and CBA to look it up but they feature Afrojack and Jennifer Hudson respectively. I think. Hopefully the Afrojack one will be an instrumental and it can be the first instrumental top 40 hit (other than 'I Giorni' which was a really old song) since Escala's 'Palladio'.

Or Sub Focus' 'Rock It' if you count that as instrumental but it does have vocals in it, they're just heavily disguised and sound like instruments. Either that or they are instruments.

Yes, I did comment on it. But I couldn't remember anything about the song. I just remember that I was quite impressed, and that it had a big chorus.

Well, I looked it up anyway. The Afrojack song is called 'Lunar' and the Jennifer Hudson track is called 'Night Of Your Life'. All three should easily go top 20 I'd guess (probably messing up Guetta's top 10 streak along the way ) It'd be weird if they can all go top 10 though - that'd be JHud's first top 10 hit.

The Guetta feat. Sia Song "Titanium" is already availabe on itunes now. So unlike the first 2 official Singles, this "promotional single" is the one to get a Sunday release :D. Let's see how it can do in the UK. It's already gone Top 10 in Germany and Austria where it was released on Friday.
