oh that makes sense, I was thinking surely I must have heard something about this comeback?

Β

I was hearing Rhythm of Love all over the radio back when it was released, and I was surprised it flopped.

Β

And California King Bed>>>>>>>Cheers. As a Rihanna fan, I like both, but this really was quite a pointless release, imo.

Nicole really is picking up the pace on iTunes now, I hope Radio1 decide to playlist Wet. I think this will be another top 10 single for her, very impressive.
I wasn't fond either, it's a lame ballad compared to something like 'Cold Case Love' from Rated R. I'd say that was merely average though, this is just plain bad. Should've just moved on to something new.

Β

Whoever was incharge of deciding the singles from Rated R, I hope they got fired afterwards tbh. Such a mess. I could post a massive essay on this, but they released some (imo) utter tripe as singles (Russian Roulette, Te Amo, Rockstar 101), they couldn't decide which order to release the songs in, and left out some, really good songs from the album.

Β

Cold Case Love, I think is infinitely better than Russian Roulette, not to mention her will.i.am and Chase & Status collabs all went ignored. :(

Β

Thank goodness for Rude Boy, Run This Town and Love the Way You Lie tbh. Those were the three songs that kept her relevent in the 2 years between Disturbia and Only Girl tbh.

I agree with Eyes:

CKB >>>>>>>> Cheers

Β

Love both though, Cheers is still an 8/10 but CKB is 10/10! And as a Rihanna loon I think I'm cursed to love practically every single she does, my least fave of her singles is We Ride, which is still a 6/10 :drama:

Completely agree with all of this post except for any bits about Russian Roulette. I can't deny that beautiful song.

Β

But that's beside the point. They messed up the release of Hard, Fire Bomb should have taken the place of Te Amo easily, and any of Wait Your Turn, G4L, Cold Case Love and The Last Song could have been singles. Rockstar 101 and Te Amo can go die down a hole. Or at least have been left as album tracks (although the former pretty much was, given its 'success')

Love The Way You Lie is arguably one of the greatest songs of 2010 by a mile imo, it was just fantastic. I didn't really like Rihanna's Rated R era, Rude Boy was incredibly overrated imo.

Β

Eric, You have until 12pm tonight to finish the rate buddy! You should attempt to score people as your rates anticipated.

I love both 'california king bed' and 'cheers (drink to that)', although CKB sounds like a lesser version of 'fire bomb' which is immense. doesn't stop me from loving it though!

Photographs is AWFUL, it's the worst Rihanna song I've ever heard across her 5 albums :puke:

Β

I kind of agree with the single choices, Te Amo is my fave on Rated R, and I love Russian Roulette and quite like Rockstar but neither were good singles. I'd have gone:

1. Rude Boy

2. Hard

3. Fire Bomb (personally I find it overrated but it's great and a fan fave)

4. Wait Your Turn

Β

and left Te Amo and Russian Roulette as fabulous album tracks.

Β

Oh and I'll join Lee in begging you to do the rate, you don't even have to do comments if you don't want to. Lots of people want your rate Eric! :D

Yeah, Wait Your Turn should've definitely been a proper single!

Β

And what is wrong with Photographs?! :o I love it. I always thought it was a lot like Rehab though.

I don't know, it's just so awful and really dull, I honestly can't even listen to it for more than minute :puke: It's not to do with Rehab as that's one of my top 10 Rihanna tracks, I have no idea what it is, I just HATE Photographs

 Fair enough. I think the song can be quite repetitive (apart from that bit in the middle where it goes all electro), which could be what it is.

Wretch's EP now ahead of Emeli's then - I think he has the #1 in the bag now TBH. I hope Emeli does overtake though as I've decided I'm now firmly TEAM SANDÉ.

Lmao, this.

Firebomb, Mad house, The Last Song, Cold Case love, hard and obviously Rudeboy>>>.

Β

Rated R era was a mess single wise :(.

Β

Chase and status are actually on the radio right now talking bout their Rihanna production.

Wow. Really? :o As a Rihanna fan, I feel obliged to listen. :kink: Radio 1?

Β

They did more than one song for Rated R though, I think. They're very talented producers imo.

Β

I read an interview of them that Rihanna wanted to appear on Chase & Status's album to return the favour, and they declined her! :o

Β

True. Most producers can only come up with one beat - but if I played to you the instrumentals of "Blind Faith" and "Hitz" before I told you who it was by would you have guessed both are by the same producers?? Probably not as both sound different  They're my 2nd favourite dubstep/d&b producers, after Nero.
