I would actually go as far to say it would've been the worst song in the top 10 of the year so far. Horrible tuneless song. At least it isn't as bad as Bass Cannon though, the worst song of the year. :(

I LOVE Bass Cannon (and Sunlight and also Feel Good (Modestep's previous single)), but if you think that's the worst song of the year this is a song you'll probably find worse :P

Unfortunately this is flopping :(

I'd probably agree, if it wasn't for Party Rock Anthem :P

I still think it's a bit too late for Emeli to get the official #1, at this rate she's still not going to overtake until probably at least Thursday.

I don't like it, but it doesn't have that awful screechy, electronic cat dying in the background. The reason why I hate Bass Cannon so much is because one of my friends absolutely LOVES it and plays it on his phone all the time, despite everyone else telling him it's rubbish and to turn it off

One of my friends on Facebook posted Bass Cannon about 10 times when it came out, it was just annoying to see that pretty much everytime I looked the feed!

I do love dubstep but I too find 'Bass Cannon' and 'Sunlight' annoying  I wish Modestep released Sunlight first, and then Feel Good as the latter is much better/more listenable. :) They're just a wannabe Nero/DJ Fresh/Chase & Status act riding on the sucess of dubstep :(

Why would anyone think Ruffneck is the worst song of the year? I know it's not everybody's cup of tea, but I think there's more extreme songs out there than that. The melody in the song reminds of of More More More by Rachel Stevens, oddly enough.

Also, is it just me, or does Skrillex suddenly seem to be popping up absolutely everywhere lately?

Ruffneck is actually a great song - but even with R1 support it's flopping so hard that his other single "Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites" is doing better than it on iTunes. Skrillex should've just released that as it's more popular and had more hit potential.

EDIT - I've just checked and 'Ruffneck' is now doing better than SMANS, but it's still flopping hard and my last point still stands.

I quite like Sunlight personally, mainly because I usually support these type of songs, its unconventional, but sounds distinct

Yes! DG is falling (I actually like the song a lot but I prefer Heaven and MLJ by far)

It was only a matter of time before the emergence of 'landfill dubstep' :D

135. Jeremih ft. 50 Cent - Down On Me - I noticed this almost got back in the top 100 a couple of days ago. It has been top 200 for basically 9 months now, but I wondered if it's had a price decrease?

575. Lady Gaga - You and I - This is climbing very fast considering the video hasn't even been uploaded to VEVO or sent to MTV yet (as far as I know).

593. Game ft. Lil Wayne - Red Nation - His album has leaked, and it's brilliant! It'll flop here, but should do well in the US. There's a song with both Lil Wayne and Tyler, the Creator on it. That'll be massive, surely.

876. Wiz Khalifa - No Sleep - Such a brilliant song. Has quite an Ignition feel to it. So sad to see it not doing better though. :(

886. Dr. Dre - Still D.R.E - Classic tbh. Can't wait for his next single. I heard what it could be like, and it's awesome, but I know most of you won't like it.

I really hope "You and I" goes top 10, if radio gets hold of it like it could I think it could sneak a week at #1 somewhere.

I think it will get good radio support. Infact, I can see it being the first song from Lady Gaga this era that Heart FM playlsits.

Have I heard a different 'Feel Good' to you? 'Sunlight' is a lot more accessible/'listenable' IMO!

Am I right in thinking that another bunch of songs have been reduced to 59p (judging by this morning's chart movements)?

In regards to Modestep, I quite liked 'Feel Good' at the time - although 'Sunlight' is the much better of the two singles. I struggle to see what unique part to the dubstep scene Modestep actually play though - 'Sunlight' is just the same lyrics repeated, with a trademark drop in between; something DJ Fresh and Nero have done better with. I'm glad to see another new act in the chart though - I thought it'd be over for Modestep when the previous single only scraped the T40.
