USJ will be returning this contest, I know how excited you must all be.

Oh YOU'RE United States Of Jack? Looking at your history, I love loads of your past entries - so I'm looking forward to see what you give us this time ^_^

I feel the same way as Batidas :(

should I sent the song I love and be happy or should I sent the song that I think it will qualify but not loving as much as the other song?

To pluck some posts from elsewhere that I feel are relevant here:

Sending what you think other people will like almost always backfires - don't do it! If you're not keen on it then why should you expect anybody else to be?

Yeah, I don't think I could be happy with myself if I sent something I didn't like just with the aim of doing well.

Then if it flopped it would feel even worse because you'd wonder what the hell was that all about?

Trying to predict what Buzzjack will love is a near impossible task which can very easily leave egg on your face when you hit the shocking realisation that actually it's only you that likes it - and not that much anyway because you were just trying to get a good result (NOT the primary aim of the contest!) Just send what you love and at least you'll be happy with your entry - even if you do flop with it!

I had 4 choices, one was an uber safe Swedish male pop song, which probably would've qualified and finished mid-table, but equally I think it may have been 'too' BJ friendly and perhaps a DNQ even. Another was a Buzzjack friendly female dance-pop track, which I fear may have done an Aleesia and I didn't love it as much as other choices. Another was my personal favourite of the lot, a female dubstep influenced track, but I feel it may not have done well. The final one (which I chose) was a female electro track but it isn't too 'typical Buzzjack' but it's my 2nd favourite of the bunch and was a risk but I think it could do well, so I went for the risk that I love rather than the safe option that I didn't love quite so much.

Actually I went with totally different song...but the artist is so popular that I'm sure it's confirmed by now.

Well if I were to go ahead with my original choice I know straight away I won't be getting points from Rontvia. Then again my song choice isn't exactly an instant song - even I wasn't sure of the song on first listen but it's grown on me a lot.

Really? How do you know that? :o Is it something I already know?

I didn't give Black Video or Something In The Water points either though (in the final anyway) and you've done well enough with those without my support :P

Elëdan have confirmed the riskier choice, having finally returned to our comfort zone.

Apparantly so. :P

That's all I'm saying for now in case I do go ahead with this song. :D

I've actually missed you! Last time I updated my voting history, you were top! (I need to update that actually! I'm bored now so will do it now!)

Maybe you should take the plunge and go with it before Dandy finds it

You mean before you find it off someone else then confirm first? -_-

I'm actually pretty glad my first choice got taken - I vastly prefer my second now, and it proves someone else here has as great a taste as I do!
I just purchased my BJSC entry on iTunes, how exciting! I'd better not add it to the 'Music Purchases' thread though!

How was I to known it was going to be somebody else's entry, I'm not psychic you know

"slaps self"

My entry's an electro-pop ballad, (ala, Owl City). I would like to stress that I havn't entered it because of 2 of the last 4 winners have been ballads. ;)

^Electro-pop ballad like Owl City? Sounds good from where I'm sitting, but I'll have to pass judgement when I hear it.

I had 4 choices as well. The one I chose I think is the best out of them, but it's also probably the most 'un-Buzzjack' (not that it's that un-Buzzjack, the other three were all so Buzzjack it hurts, but also quite generic, so I wasn't happy with sending them) so I'll be interested to see how well it does.
