Releasing another single? Wow quite surprised

he has done worse than joe mcelderry in releasing a 2nd single. Joe went to 68, Starlight was more than 100 places below that. :/

 

I hope he uses Stars and Lovers or Pull me Under. Although i like Letters, it wont do anything for him as a single..plus he has already performed it on a couple of tv shows so im sure it will be decided to use an unheard song

But hasn't his album sold more and stuck around longer than Joe's debut album did? So I think that sort of balances things out for him a little.

I'm not sure it's done that much better than Joe's album to be fair, figures estimate 140k in total at the moment. Joe sold 102k of his first album and his second has sold 200k. His first single sold less than matt though

Letters has sold 190k+ now! It took Joe a year to do 100k, Matt's done almost double that in 2 months :D

Let's face it, he still hasnt done well for an x factor winner when his rivals One Direction & Rebecca Ferguson who didnt win, have sold significantly more copies of their albums in a less timeframe.

For an X Factor winner? They don't do that well mate! It was clear that 1D would be massive. The shock has been Rebecca, she's made things worse for him. Matt hasn't released the more rocky album I expected of him, given all that stuff about how credible he wanted to be etc... I actually bought into that. I thought maybe we'd see a great indie/rock album from an X Factor contestant for once, especially after he signed with Columbia. I like it but it's not got much depth to it and it's very soft so I've got bored of it pretty quickly. Hey at least my mum likes it but that's not a good sign really.

I think Matt delivered the album that most people expected and wanted from him. I find it a very in-depth album, there are no lyrics about his swagger or how he

wants to get his bootie down in a club :P

Yep WA sold 102k and Matt is on around 190k so he has done better first off. Joe alienated most of his fans with the style though. Joe's second is around 225+ now so they could end up with similar sales in the end for Classic and Letters. Depends who holds up better in the new year. Not sure how relevant it is though as the only thing that is similar is they came from the same show.
