Actually, but what's up with the line next to Mutya's, with the date 04.05.2010?

I'm curious about that too. I wonder if that is the combined Mutya/Siobhan/Keisha filling and a category was missed out accidentally hence the earlier filling getting it. As i'm sure it was around that time that Mutya reapplied with all the original babes having initially applied after K got the sack.

I vaguely remember from last year that Sugababes 4.0 team applied for the SugababesTM in the beginning of May of 2010, so it could well be them too. Remember the 'Crash & Burn' drama? That was at that time. The Keisha/Mutya/Siobhan application was send in about February.

In the Sugababes trademark application the representative is someone called Beck Greener. It is the trademark attorney.

Who was working with them, 1.0 or 4.0, anyone remembers? EDIT: seems like 4.0, as 1.0 are under Paul Stacey management in their application.

This is a mess.

Decisions on both cases on the trademark seem to have been made a while ago, so perhaps Queen Mut has filled an appeal and won on appeal?

Is it still the trendy thing to do, and add an X after your name

As Sugababes X could equal any value  for whichever version

I've been scouring popjustice for Keisha gossip and came across this quote from thatgrapejuice

"What's this we're hearing about Mutya winning ownership of the Sugababes name by the High Court today?!"

It's from their twitter.

Looks like she did appeal and then win.

I wonder what this would mean for Freederm :kink:

It looks like Mutya was only partially granted her original trademark and that the part relating to music goods and other goods was denied. She then appealed and the High court used the precedent that was brought up in the thread we had when it was first announced she had applied to over rule and award it to Queen Mutya.

Back to Mutya's usual distinct piss poor grammar/spelling and some three hours after the original post. THIS AIN'T NO DRILL THIS IS THE REAL GURL DEAL.

It looks like Mutya was only partially granted her original trademark and that the part relating to music goods and other goods was denied. She then appealed and the High court used the precedent that was brought up in the thread we had when it was first announced she had applied to over rule and award it to Queen Mutya.

Please tell me in human language what this means? (I don't know anything about laws and rights and trademarks etc.)

From what I've read so far, it seems although Mutya may own the Sugababes name, but 4.0 have been granted the rights to use it for musical output. However if the line up was to change again then they would lose the right to use the name...

I want 2.0 Back but they should let 4.0 finish this Era first.

i wish they could all get together:

LOL @ all of this. I thought the whole trademark argument was over, but seemingly Mutya's been plugging away at it in court whilst we were all preoccupied with waiting for 4.0's new album.

The name should by rights belong to Mutya/Keisha/Siobhan and not to the current three, so if this is true then good on her. It'll be interesting to see how 4.0 market themselves though...

Huzzah! Thank god for Mutya, sorry but the band releasing Freedom is NOT the Sugababes, good on her I say! This will just lead to the decline even more, Freedom will probably do even worse now. I'm even less interested now the brand name is gone, it was all that kept me a big fan, now I just merely 'don't mind' Freedom and quite like Sweet 7, I'd just call myself a 'casual' fan of the new group tbh.

@Amelle_berrabah

@ryanamstad No mate. Defo rumours. xxx

Edit: Oh, this has already been posted

Is this really true? I'm glad tbh. They aren't the Sugababes anymore. I hope they get a new name and carry on though
NO!!!!! Is this seriously true? I WANT to buy Freedom and I WANT their new album - don't ruin everything Mutya. :(
Maybe the 4.0 girls can chang the name to Splendababes?

Why on earth would this prevent 4.0 from releasing their album?
